Chapter 19: Just Desserts

Katie’s POV

“Okay, Pete, you have a great weekend. I’ll see you on Monday!” I called out to my last car in carline.

I had been distracted all day, finding it hard to focus on my work. All the adorable faces of my kindergarteners weren’t enough to distract the replay of the shared kisses with Arrow in the car on the way back from our date. I could still feel his arms around me, and the buzz of excitement that continued to build for what was to come.

I walked on a cloud throughout my day, garnering questioning glances from my co-workers and students. Nothing could crack this bubble of happiness that I was fully encased in.

“Hey there, Kate, could I talk to you for a second?” Well, nothing except for one person. Sam.

“Yeah, sure,” I said.
