Vixen Above, Mensao Below (11)

Ye Minzhe instantly dropped his hold on her, dumping Song Jia back on the ground like a hot potato. The tips of his ears were red.

He opened his mouth to speak, but Song Jia covered his lips with her hand. Who knows if this idiot would suddenly shout again.

"I was just joking, don't take it too seriously. Are the zombies still there?" she whispered.

Ye Minzhe got doused by cold water, hurriedly peeking at the staircase again. He looked at Gu Yuan.

"Follow me as back up in case I miss one of them. Ye Jia, stay here." After a moment, he added, "Don't look."

Song Jia didn't argue, even though she knew she would probably be more capable at fighting the zombies than Gu Yuan. His face was already pale, the short baton he had gotten from the toilet plunger trembling in his hands. He was a scholar through and through, not a person meant for the battlefield.

As soon as the zombies got near to their position, Ye Minzhe rushed forward, footsteps silent and almost inaudible. When he was a foot away, he raised the baseball bat and swung it on the nearest zombie. He swung it with so much force that the skull instantly cracked.

He didn't give time for the other zombie to make a sound as he instantly whirled around and gave it a side blade kick to the temple. Then the Swiss army knife he decided to keep plunged into its right eye and entered the brain. The zombie stopped twitching.

His actions were brutal and quick, not hesitating in the slightest.

Song Jia could hear Gu Yuan retching, heaving dry air. Ye Minzhe wiped both his baseball bat and knife on one of the zombies' clothes before walking straight towards her.

"Ye Jia, didn't I tell you not to look?" He said angrily, but his eyes were carefully watching her expression. "If you have bad dreams because of this, it would be your fault, not mine."

"I'm okay."

Song Jia was telling him the truth. Having transmigrated three times before, she quickly learned the fact that male gods weren't vegetarian in nature. She had witnessed several killings and even killed, directly or indirectly, a person herself. She didn't simply survive, but fought back.

A survivor may have a clear conscience, but fighters like her would have to look at their actions with eyes wide open. Song Jia would be the first to admit that she didn't regret anything she had done, but that didn't mean she was at complete peace with it.

Ye Minzhe didn't look convinced at her response.

"Ye Jia, look at our teacher, he's vomiting so much he looks like a wilted pak choi. Then take a look at your expression. Does that make sense? I think you're in shock."

"I'm not in shock," Song Jia said calmly.

But as if he was deaf to her words, Ye Minzhe had already came forward to hug her.

"Ye Jia, don't deny your feelings, it's not good for the body."

Seeing her staring at him with that blank expression, Ye Minzhe suddenly thought, this girl, how could she be so cute. It makes him always have the urge to touch her, hug her, not to mention that fragrant scent on her skin, Ye Minzhe almost couldn't endure but do skinship with her at all times.

Maybe this was what it meant to have a little sister?

Ye Minzhe, although he was liked by everyone and had many friends, was actually a very detached person. When he first learned about the existence of a half-sister, he detested it with all of his being. Other unrelated people, he could talk with them, laugh with them, but in the end, there was nothing tying them together. If Ye Minzhe decides to cut off their relationship, it was easy and not too bothersome.

But a half-sister was different. They have the same blood, the same parent, maybe some of their DNA were even the same. He could accept his parents, because he could not exist without them. But a sibling like a half-sister? Ye Minzhe had only one thing to say.

Not needed!

He did not need this kind of biological closeness, what fart is this half-sister, he didn't want it!

But now, when he thought that his blood was also running in Ye Jia's veins, his DNA was also very similar to Ye Jia, there would not be a person that would be as close to her as him...not to mention being half-siblings, Ye Minzhe felt that even if Ye Jia was his twin sister, it would not be so bad.

Being born on the same day, the same hour, from the same mother, sharing the same womb, having 50% identical genes, telepathic connection...

How good would that be.

Alas, heavens wasn't fair and didn't favor him.

Not to mention being twins, even half-siblings wasn't possible...

Without being aware of it, Ye Minzhe had already traveled on a long mental journey, and he had been hugging Song Jia for more than a while. He was pressing her too tightly to his own body, and because he was too tall, he had bent his back just to bury his face on her shoulder, even rubbing his cheek against the nape of her neck. His fingers used all of their strength to grab onto her clothes.

Song Jia was about to be lifted off her feet by him.

"Ye Minzhe, what's wrong?" Song Jia suddenly discovered that his mood was not right, it was as if he had been dealt a large emotional blow.

Song Jia realized that this was probably Ye Minzhe's first time killing someone, not to mention he had already killed four zombies in barely a few hours. Although they were infected, they were still human.

Song Jia was sympathetic, and she patted him lightly on the back.

"It's okay, we're here, everything will be alright."

Standard words of comfort, but this was actually best for reassuring emotional people.

Ye Minzhe finally realized what he was doing, and he quickly released her with the tips of his ears turning red. He just had the impulse to hug her, but the moment she was close to him, his body became too greedy and squeezed her tighter, as if to embed her deep into his bones. It was almost an instinctive reaction.

"Ye Jia, don't think I'll hug you if you're in shock next time, this young master just felt you were too pitiful, that's all," Ye Minzhe recovered his arrogant look and raised his chin. "Also, remember not to look next time, although this young master understands that my actions and the way I fight are too cool, what if you suddenly became my fan? I don't like clingy people."

Song Jia, "..."

Don't stick gold on your face, you understand balls. [1]

Song Jia felt, this male god...was really too mensao. [2]

It was obviously him who wanted a hug, but he made her carry the black pot.

[1] Two Ch. idioms with the first one meaning don't flatter yourself, while the second's meaning is pretty obvious, it means you don't understand, what do you understand? Basically treating the other party like an idiot.

[2] Mensao is basically a Ch. slang that refers to someone always choking/restraining his emotions when feeling excited or passionate, thus appearing to be dull and boring, even cold. Aka, still waters run deep. Usually refers to men.
