And the little girl

(After Guts left Puck, it started to rain heavily.

As Guts kept walking, the rain fell harder and harder.

Guts heard the sound of a carriage behind him. The cart continued on its way without a care in the world.

Until the cart stopped and an old man in it offered him a ride.

The old man said, "Would you like a ride?"

"It's not much fun walking in this rain."

Guts said, "I don't need a ride. Thank you."

The old man said, "No need to be polite. One more person in the car wouldn't hurt."

Guts, "I'm not very social."

The old man tried some more to persuade Guts. After a while Guts could not stand the man's insistence and agreed.

Guts, "Old man, I'm telling you this for your own good."

"There are evil spirits after me."

The old man said, "There are evil spirits."

"Don't worry, I have God on my side.

"We even have a little fairy favor."

When Guts heard the name of the fairy, he noticed the little girl next to the old man. And on top of her head was Puck, who was sticking his tongue out at him.

Guts thought, *I don't care if other people get hurt anyway. * he thought.

Before Guts got into the cart, he noticed the eyes staring at him from the forest.

But he didn't care and got into the carriage.

Once in the carriage, Guts began to dry himself with the towel the little girl had given him.

Puck continued to stare at him the whole time.

Puck, "What?"

"I was here before you, so I don't want to hear any complaints from you."

Guts threw the towel he was using at Puck while Puck was still talking.

As Puck was trying to get out of the towel, a little girl entered the carriage next to the old man.

The little girl said, "If you like, you can drink some of the homemade wine we brought from home."

"It will warm you up."

The little girl began to ask questions as Guts drank some wine.

Little girl, "Mister, how did you get these wounds?"

"They look terrible."

Guts, "Didn't you hear what I said? The evil spirits are after me."

Old man, "Hey, hey, don't scare my granddaughter."

"And that thing behind you, is that a sword?"

Guts, "You could say that."

Old man, "So you're a mercenary."

"Living your life killing other people doesn't sound very impressive to me."

Guts, "That's why I don't like priests."

Old man, "My nephew ran away from home five years ago to become a mercenary."

"We haven't heard from him since.

"He probably died on a battlefield."

"It seems foolish to throw away your life before you've tasted happiness."

Guts, how is that stupid?

"He died doing what he wanted to do no matter what, right?"

"I think he's lucky."

"Everybody's gonna die someday."

"It's better to die victoriously on a battlefield."

Guts then thought he had said too much, so he said.

"Do you mind if I get some sleep?"

When Guts closed his eyes to sleep, he felt a blanket over him.

When Guts opened his eyes, he saw the little girl blushing as she looked at him.

The little girl said, "I thought you might be cold."

The little girl smiled when she saw that Guts closed his eyes and went back to sleep without getting angry).

Tsunade, "What a cute little girl."

"She's even nice to someone who's rude to her."

Jiraiya, "She's sure to grow up to be a beautiful woman."

Hiruzen, "The will of fire shines brightly in her."

Minato, "She's cute, but the many eyes in the forest creep me out."

"I think that's the breaking point of this episode."

Kushina, "If those disgusting monsters harm the little girl, I will put them on my chain and roast them in the fire."

Everyone in the room could feel the killing intent coming from Kushina.

Minato prayed that nothing would happen to the little girl at the breaking point. Otherwise he didn't know how to calm Kushina down.

Minato finished his prayer and went back to reading the next page.

I normally tried to keep the chapters I wrote to more than 1000 words.

But when I continue to write like this, the number of chapters hardly increases.

When there are fewer chapters, people say that maybe I will read it later because of the number of chapters.

That's why I thought of dividing the 1 chapter I published in the day into two parts and publishing it in this way.

So please don't complain that the chapters are short.

I will stop using this tactic in the future if the number of chapters increases a bit.
