Chapter 3

The next morning came Billy, Lone Wolf, Red Bear, and Bob went outside and each of them had a chore to do. Billy cleaned the carrel, Lone Wolf cleaned the barn, Red Bear plowed the fields, and Bob fixed the fences around the property. When all the chores were done Henry wen to go get the wagon to get ready to go into town for more supplies.

So they jumped in and went towards town. When they arrived, they went inside the store and Henry gave Billy a list of things they needed. Lone Wolf, Bob, and Red Bear would load into the wagon. As Bob, Red Bear, and Lone Wolf were waiting on stuff to be handed to them shots were fired.

Everybody was ducking and running as shots were being fired, Lone Wolf, Bob, and Red Bear quickly got behind buildings and started shooting at the men, but they got away. All the townsfolk came out from hiding in stores and underneath steps and sidewalks. Lone Wolf's cousin came running out from hiding and ran over towards a family of Native American Indians lying dead in the street. Red Bear, Lone Wolf, and Bob were just standing there looking at Little Woman holding a little Indian girl in her arms.

"Guys are you alright?" asked Billy running out.

"Yes we are fine, I can't say about those men though," angered Lone Wolf.

"Well let's go get them," Billy said getting into the wagon.

Lone Wolf quickly went to get his Winchester out of the back of the wagon.

"Stop, it is not your place, let Sheriff Jason handle it," said Henry.

Henry turned around and looked at the family of Indians so did the townsfolk, then Henry heard a baby cry from the Indian family's wagon. So he walked up to the wagon and saw a baby inside. His heart was broken to see that baby in there without a family. So he picked up the baby and held it tight so it would feel safe, the baby stopped crying. Little Woman and Lone Wolf looked at each other. Lone Wolf walked up towards Henry.

"I'll take it, Little Woman will take care of it, she needs a baby," said Lone Wolf.

"Alright," said Henry handing Lone Wolf the baby.

Henry walked towards Little Woman and bent down beside her.

"Let her go, go inside, Lone Wolf take your cousin inside the hotel," said Henry helping Little Woman up.

Lone Wolf handed Little Woman the baby and tears started to fall down her face and they walked into the hotel and up to Little Woman's room and walked in.

"Do you remember what it was like to hold a child again?" asked Little Woman.

"I do until mine was taken from me," said Lone Wolf walking towards the window.

"Do you think they will come back," said Little Woman cradling the baby.

"Maybe, if they do I'll be ready for them," said Lone Wolf looking out the window.

"Why did they kill those people, what did they do wrong?" asked Little Woman.

There was a knock at the door.

"Who is it?" asked Little Woman

Lone Wolf had his gun pointed towards the door.

"It's Sarah, I brought up some milk for you, I saw what happened today," said Sarah.

Little Woman walks over and opens the door.

"Thank you, Sarah, thank you so much," said Little Woman.

Sarah left and closed the door behind.

"When will it stop, when will they realize we are just like them?" asked Little Woman.

"It will never stop cousin until we are all gone. They hate was is different, it will never stop," said Lone Wolf holding his Winchester and looking out the window.

"So they will keep coming," said Little Woman.

"Yes," Lone Wolf closing the curtain and looking at Little Woman feeding the baby, he had a smile on his face.

Henry, Bob, Billy, and Red Bear picked up the family and buried them in a cemetery and went back to Frankie's house. Back at the hotel Little Woman was putting the baby down to sleep.

"Go to sleep as well, I will be with you when the sun rises," said Lone Wolf looking out the window.

"What if they come up here while we are sleeping?" asked Little Woman.

"That won't happen, now lay down and get some sleep," said Lone Wolf.

So she went to sleep. Lone Wolf went to sleep in the chair by the window. The baby did sleep through the night. The next morning Lone Wolf woke up he looked at Little Woman and the baby, he smiled. Then Little Woman started to wake up.

"You are going to kill them, aren't you?" asked Little Woman.

"Yes," said Lone Wolf.

"You know what the towns-folk and the Sheriff will do to you, they will hang you, or send you to Fort Apache and let the soldiers hurt you," said Little Woman.

"I have to it is in my blood," said Lone Wolf.

"I just don't want you to get killed, your one of the last warriors in our tribe that is still standing today," worried Little Woman.

"I know I will be fine," said Lone Wolf.

Lone Wolf got up from the chair and kissed his cousin on the forehead and walked out. As Lone Wolf was sitting on a bench outside from the hotel, he saw three men riding up real fast on their horses. Lone Wolf got up and walked out into the street and stood there.

"Hey Charles look, it is Lone Wolf, you're still standing red man?" asked Earl.

"Hello Lone Wolf," smiled Charles.

"You killed that family yesterday?" asked Lone Wolf.

Little Woman looked out the window while holding the baby.

"Yes we did," said Charles.

"Well did you know you were all going to die today?" asked Lone Wolf holding his Winchester.

"You want to kill us boy, do you want to slaughter us like you did Henry and his men?" asked Earl.

"Henry is not dead, he still alive and well," said Lone Wolf.

"What that is impossible, they all told us he was dead along with his men," said Charles in a shocked voice.

"Well they told you wrong," said Lone Wolf.

All three men got off their horses and faced Lone Wolf.

"Now how are you going to kill us when there is only one of you and three of us?" asked Earl.

"Like this," said Lone Wolf putting his Winchester into Earls's gut and fired, Earl flew like a bird backward.

Charles and his friend scattered like cattle and started firing shots at Lone Wolf. Lone Wolf dropped his Winchester and hid behind the buildings, as he was waiting for them to stop shooting because they were not hitting anything.

Lone Wolf decided to get on the roof of a building and wait for Charles to come by so he can jump off and land on Charles. So Lone Wolf got o top of a roof and jumped off the building and landed on Charlies killing him by cutting his throat from behind. Now one more man was still standing, he stopped firing and started looking for Lone Wolf. Lone Wolf came out from behind a dun pony, an old horse, and he pulled his pistol and pulled the trigger shooting the man in the back. All the townsfolk came running out finding three men killed and Lone Wolf standing there.

"Lone Wolf," said Doc.

"It has been done," said Lone Wolf.

"You know what is going to happen now, they'll take you to Fort Apache and they will let the blue coats handle you," said Doc.

"I am not afraid," said Lone Wolf.

"Alright Lone Wolf, you did your thing, now it's my turn to do my thing, lets go," said Sheriff Jason taking Lone Wolf's pistols.

"Sheriff lets hang him instead of taking him to the jailhouse," said Trevor.

"Wait a minute, I'm Sheriff around here, I'm taking him to Fort Apache," said Sheriff Jason.

Trevor just shook his head and walked away.

"I'm sure the blue coats will be pleased to see me after all these years, and that I'm still alive and kicking," said Lone Wolf with a smile on his face.

Henry was almost into town when the Sheriff and Lone Wolf rode out of town.

"Henry the Sheriff is taking Lone Wolf to Fort Apache, you have to stop him, they will hurt or kill him," said Little Woman running out with the baby.

"They will not kill him, I promise, I will bring him back," said Henry.

"Thank you," said Little Woman.

"Red Bear you're coming with me, you're a good shot, you might come in handy in case we run into any trouble trying to get him back," said Henry.

"Alright let's go," said Red Bear.

"Billy, Bob you go to Frankie's house and tell him what happened," said Henry.

"We will Henry," Billy jumping on his horse and riding out to Frankie's house.
