Flashback (4): Olivia's Decision

Olivia's days felt like hell. She was confused about whether to keep the baby or not. Just explaining how she lost her virginity to Nick was already mind-boggling. Now, with a baby in her belly, it wouldn't just be a headache, but she couldn't possibly lie.

She had planned to weave a beautiful future with Nicholas. Why did she have to face this bitter reality now?

"I even took the morning-after pill. Why is it like this?" Olivia slapped herself on the head, regretting the foolishness she had committed.

"It's because that jerk didn't use a rubber!" she cursed the father of that guy with hatred.

Olivia regretted why she had to go to the bar that night and spend time there without thinking about the dangers she might face. It was highly likely that someone took advantage of a drunk woman.

Regret always comes too late. And it's useless.

That night, the usual warmth that enveloped the dinner table turned into an atmosphere of gloom for Olivia. Even the news that should have brought joy felt like a descent into hell as her father delivered the announcement about the Zhao family.

"Nick's parents will be calling him back from Osaka soon," her father stated, his words piercing through the air. "You're already 26 years old. Nick is 27. It's the right time to get married."

Olivia's hand trembled, causing her fork and knife to slip from her grasp. Meanwhile, the color drained from Amelia's face, leaving her pale and visibly shaken.

The young girl abruptly rose from her seat, her actions devoid of any words.

"Amy, finish your meal first!" her mother said.

Amelia's fingers tightly gripped the doorknob, their tremors betraying her inner turmoil. She struggled to form her next sentence.

"I'm not feeling well—" Amelia's words trailed off, abruptly cut short as darkness enveloped her vision. The only sounds that reached her ears were the echoing cries of her mother and Olivia, who were left in a state of shock. Moments later, Amelia's consciousness gave way, and she collapsed, succumbing to her physical and emotional strain.

When Amelia first opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Olivia sleeping by her bedside, watching over her all night. They were truly pitiful siblings. They loved the same person. Was the sky testing the strength of sibling love? Which would take priority, love or blood ties?

"Olive?" Amelia whispered hoarsely. "You shouldn't be here, you'll get sick."

But Olivia didn't move. She was exhausted from her chaotic thoughts. Amelia then lifted Olivia's plumper body and laid her on the bed. She pulled the blanket to ensure her sister had a comfortable sleep.

"Oh my!" Olivia suddenly woke up. She was surprised to see Amelia, who was sick, standing beside her. "I stayed with you, but I ended up falling asleep."

Amelia sweetly smiled at her sister. "You're such a mess!" the younger sister teased.

However, those words hit Olivia's heart. She felt so pathetic. "I truly am an insensitive sister!"

Amelia was confused by Olivia's sudden statement, especially when Olivia suddenly pulled her into a hug.

Olivia silently cried, tears wetting her beautiful face. At that moment, she made up her mind. She had to tell Nicholas the truth about her pregnancy.

She had to end her relationship with Nicholas!

Olivia couldn't help but realize one thing: perhaps God had chosen her to escape from this problem in this way, by getting pregnant with another man.

Olivia didn't want to burden Amelia with a lifetime of guilt by marrying Nicholas. She didn't want to lose the love of Amelia, her beloved sister.
