The house seemed quiet, he expected the noisy tantrums as Jane had said. But there was nothing but silence and soft snores on the sofa coming from his precious children.
He smiled to himself, thinking of how Selene would have reacted if she were to handle the stubborn kids alone.
"Sir they slept a while ago," Jane appeared from the kitchen explaining.
"It's okay Jane, you can go rest, I'll take care of them," Jake sighed, seeing the weary features on her face.
"Sir, is Miss Selene going to be okay?" Jane asked, making Jake realize just how much time Jane had spent with Selene and the kids.
"I'm hoping so, Jane, but it's going to take some time," Jake explained, carrying Bryson to his bed.
Jake looked into the space as he breathed in the chilling evening air from the balcony. Seeing Selene again had ignited a hope he never thought he would have. He fished out his phone, calling his grandmother.
