Chapter 29

Amiver warmly welcomed her friend Messie at the Batangas bus terminal. She's currently in Batangas to avoid Denmark. To be honest, she initially wanted to avoid bringing Messie along because she didn't want to burden her. Messie had been supporting her for a long time, and Amiver hoped Messie would find time for herself.

Do you think I'll just let you carry this situation alone, Amiver?" Messie asked with concern as they arrived at the house she had rented in Batanga its. She couldn't quite explain why she had chosen this place, but she found herself settling here with Marcus as they traveled the winding roads.

I just didn't want to burden you further. You've done so much for us already."Amiver replied.

Messie smiled warmly at Amiver and replied, "We're friends, and friends support each other through tough times.

Messie looked into Amiver's eyes.

Amiver, you've never been a burden to me, to Marcus, or to Mom, ever. So don't ever think that way. Besides, you know how delicate your pregnancy is, even back when it was with Marcus. I can't let you go through this situation alone." she continued.

Amiver nodded as tears welled up in her eyes in response to her friend's words. She was three weeks pregnant now, and the weight of her past, the betrayals, and the lies she had endured in her relationship with Denmark ,all came rushing back, causing her immense pain.

"Everything's coming back, Messie. All the infidelity, all the lies from our past together, and I don't know if I can handle all of this," Amiver tearfully admitted.

Messie, understanding her friend's pain, reached out and gently held Amiver's hand.

Enough of the tears," Messie said as she comforted Amiver. "It's not good for your pregnancy. Hold on, Amiver."

"Messie, I don't know how I'll face the future, the future of the kids, the questions they might have."

Messie shook her head and said, "I'm here; I'll help you with everything."

"And what about yourself, your own happiness? I won't allow you to keep helping me forever."Amiver emphasized her concern

Life is a rollercoaster, Amiver," Messie said. "Right now, you're hurting, but just like before, we'll get through this, and everything will be okay. Who knows, when everything's going well for you, that's when I might find my 'the one.'" Messie's words made Amiver smile. She admired Messie's positive outlook on life.

She was aware that Denmark had repeatedly prodded her for information, but in line with Amiver's advice, Messie never disclosed her location to Denmark.

After a while, she began to feel dizzy, so she took a seat.

"Messie, where's Marcus ?," she asked feeling dizzy,"

"He's in his room. Do you want me to call him?" Messie asked.

Amiver shook her head.

"Don't speak for now; I'll get you some water," she said.

She looked at her thighs as if there was hot blood flowing in her thighs, she saw some blood there, she wanted to scream, but darkness followed.

Amiver woke up in her white room, with an IV drip attached to her hands. She tried to recall what had happfened, feeling disoriented as Messie had given her water earlier.

Amiver moved and glanced around the room. She saw Marcus, Denmark, and Messie around her. Messie approached her, and although she wanted to react to seeing Denmark, her body ached, making it hard for her to speak.

"What happened?" she asked Messie as she approached her.

"You were bleeding earlier and passed out, Ami," Messie explained.

"You were bleeding earlier and passed out, Ami," Messie explained.

"Bleeding? How's the baby in my womb?" she asked in surprise.

Messie didn't say anything.

"Messie, the baby in my womb ," Amiver asked again when she noticed that Messie's act was different.

"Ami, calm down. It's not good for you." Messie said.

"No, tell me my baby is okay."

Shortly after, the doctor entered.

"I'm sorry to inform you, Mrs., that you had a miscarriage," he said.

So, it's really crucial that we avoid things that stress us out. So for your next pregnancy, let's try to avoid stress, okay? That's the doctor's reminder to her.

Amiver couldn't do anything but cry. Even though she wasn't ready to be pregnant again, especially given the problems she had with Denmark, she couldn't help but feel sad about the news of losing the baby in her womb.

"Why is he here?" she whispered to Messie, her gaze shifting towards Denmark and Marcus.

Denmark took a step forward, his expression a mixture of concern and seriousness. "I'm here to pick you up, so we can go home," he said softly but firmly, his eyes locked onto hers.

The following day, the doctor informed them that they could leave as Amiver was feeling better and able to move around. With Messie's help and Denmark's support, Amiver got into the car. Denmark drove them home with a serious demeanor, which was quite different from his usual self during the trip.

Hey why are we taking a different way?" Amiver asked ti Denmark as they were leaving the hospital.

"Like I said, I'm picking you up, and we're going home," Denmark replied seriously. Amiver looked at Messie, who just shrugged. She wanted to scold and slap him, but Marcus was there, and she didn't want her son to witness it, so she chose to remain silent.

As they got out of the car and arrived back at their old home, Amiver couldn't contain her frustration any longer. She turned to Denmark,

"Denmark, what is this? Are you just going to keep disrespecting me or us like this anytime you feel like it?" she asked, her voice filled with anger and disappointment.

Denmark turned to face her, his eyes filled with sadness and disappointment. He spoke with a heavy heart.

"I thought we were okay, Amiver. What's going on? You left without a word, took Marcus away from me again, and you're pregnant. I'm so confused and hurt," he said, his voice quivering.

Why, are you the only one who's hurting?" she yelled, his voice trembling with frustration. "I saw you with Cathee, and she's pregnant."

"You didn't even bother to find out the whole story. You just jumped to conclusions and left," Denmark said, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and hurt.

Amiver remained silent, her tears flowing freely now.

"If you hadn't left, I could have taken care of you, and our baby might not have been lost," Denmark continued eyes with a mixture of hurt and desperation.

So, you're blaming me for the miscarriage?" Amiver asked with a furrowed brow.

Denmark remained silent in response.

"Fine," Amiver said, her voice filled with frustration and resignation. Amiver couldn't take it any longer. Without saying another word, she walked out, leaving Denmark alone in their tense confrontation.
