Chapter 27

The next morning, Denmark said his goodbyes to head to their company since he had been away for a few days, and he was sure there was a lot waiting for him at the office.

"Alright then, go ahead," Amiver said with a grin.

"You should rest for a bit. I think I exhausted you last night with our... activities," Denmark playfully remarked, while Amiver was still lying in bed.

She jokingly tossed a pillow at Denmark, but it missed its mark.

Oh, come on, you can't even throw a pillow at me," Denmark teased Amiver playfully, laughing.

"You should go now, so you can get a lot of work done at your office," Amiver said.

Denmark smiled, moved closer to her, and shared a sweet kiss on her lips.

"I'll come back for you, okay? Don't leave, both you and Marcus," he said before leaving.

She nodded, and once again, Denmark kissed her passionately, filled with desire. His hand caressed Amiver's bare breast.

Hey you should go," Amiver gently slapped Denmark's hand as it began to explore her naked body.

"Maybe I want another round before I leave" he teased with a playful grin.

Denmark couldn't proceed with his plans as Marcus knocked on the door and entered the room.

Good morning, Marcus. Daddy needs to go for a while," Amiver explained to their son.

Where are you going, Daddy?" Marcus asked, looking up at Denmark with curiosity.

Denmark crouched down to Marcus's eye level. "I have to go to work, buddy. But don't worry, I'll be back soon."

Marcus nodded, understanding the situation. "Okay, Daddy. Have a good day at work!"

Denmark gave them both a warm hug before heading out for the day, leaving Amiver and Marcus.

I've agreed, Denmark, to return to our old house," Amiver said that evening when Denmark returned home. He had been insisting on staying at the condo to be with her and Marcus

"Really? When do you want to move?" Denmark's face lit up.

"Sunday works for me. It gives me three days to get everything in order," she replied.

Amiver was about to lie back down when she noticed a text notification on Denmark's phone. She hesitated but curiosity got the best of her, and she slowly looked at Denmark's phone screen. It was locked, but she could read the last message: "Tomorrow, okay? Just come early when you visit...". The rest of the message was cut off because the phone was locked.

She felt a surge of anxiety, and she sat down, feeling like the ground was about to give way beneath her.

So, Denmark and Cathee were still meeting? That even in the middle of the night she texted him.

Amiver began to wonder if everything Denmark had shown her and Marcus had been a joke.

The next morning, Denmark bid goodbye as he prepared to leave.

"Are you really heading to the office today?" Amiver asked.

"Yes, I have a lot of paperwork to sign," Denmark replied, and he seemed genuine.

Once Denmark had left, Amiver decided to follow him, hoping to find the truth and clarity she desperately needed.

Amiver hailed a taxi and got in, instructing the driver to follow Denmark's car discreetly. The taxi driver glanced at her through the rearview mirror.

"Where to, ma'am?" the taxi driver asked

"Just follow that car up ahead. Keep a safe distance, please."she commanded

The taxi driver nodded and began tailing Denmark's car, blending into the traffic as they continued their pursuit.

As she followed him discreetly, she felt a whirlwind of emotions - anxiety, uncertainty, and a desperate hope that there might be a reasonable explanation. She had to know the truth, no matter how painful it might be, to find resolution and clarity.

A little later, Denmark's car stopped in front of the building they owned. He let out a big breath, probably thinking about the text and Cathee.

Amiver was unsure if she should ask the taxi driver to turn around.

"Are we stopping here, ma'am?" taxi driver interrupted her thoughts.

Amiver took a deep breath , "Just wait a moment, please, " But before she could decide, she saw Denmark getting back into his car.

Denmark seemed to have changed his mind, so Amiver continued to follow him, determined to find out what was going on in their lives.

Amiver kept her distance as Denmark reentered his car. Her heart raced with uncertainty, and she couldn't shake the feeling that something significant was unfolding before her.

They trailed Denmark's car for nearly half an hour. Eventually, Denmark's car entered an exclusive subdivision where their former residence was located.

Amiver couldn't help but wonder, "Is he going back to our old house?" Her mind raced with questions as they continued to follow him, and she prepared herself.

But then, Denmark's car took a different road and stopped in front of a big house. Amiver looked around and saw that the house was similar to their old one, quite large.

A little later, the gate swung open in front of Denmark, and out came Cathee, who was visibly pregnant.

Cathee was clearly pregnant, her baby bump showing at about seven months. It left Amiver feeling a mix of emotions, including disbelief and confusion.Tears welled up in Amiver's eyes, and she could no longer contain the emotions that had been building since she started following them. She watched as Denmark and Cathee, seemingly happy, exchanged words. Denmark handed a paper bag to Cathee before they both entered the house.

Amiver couldn't bear it any longer. The repeated scenes were too much to handle. They had only recently reconciled, but here they were again.
