Chapter 19; Let me out!!

Amiver woke up with a headache, suddenly sitting up as she realized she was in an unfamiliar room.

"Where am I?" she wondered.

She looked around, it's walls were made of glass, providing a clear view of the outside.Beyond them, she could see the blue sea and white sands. The room was spacious, with an air of luxury like a king suite. There was a sofa in the middle and a large TV mounted on the wall.

She tried the door handle, but it was locked.

She felt nervous and scared, wondering why she was there and who brought her. Her thoughts were interrupted as the door suddenly opened, and Denmark emerged, carrying a tray of food.

"Denmark? Where am I and what are we doing here?" she asked him, puzzled.

"Breakfast in bed," he replied with a smile.

"Where am I?" she shouted, her voice full of panic.

"We're in my private resort in Batanes," he answered.

"And why are we here? How did I get here?" Amiver's mouth fell open as she remembered the last moment before ending up here.

"Did you kidnap me, huh?" she said angrily.

Denmark's face turned serious, and he put down the tray of food on a nearby table. He walked closer to Amiver, his expression a mix of concern and regret.

"Yes, I kidnapped you because I wanted to talk to you and I want us to fix our family," Denmark said seriously.

"Are you out of your mind? We've already talked, Denmark. We've agreed on the divorce, there's nothing else we need to fix," Amiver replied angrily.

Amiver suddenly walked out and was about to leave the room, but the door remained locked.

"Let me out, Denmark," she said firmly.

"Sorry, Ami," Denmark said with a brief response.

Amiver turned to face Denmark with anger in her eyes.

Let me out Denmark. Unlock the door," she said angrily.

"Sorry, Ami but I don't want to," Denmark replied, his voice apologetic.

Amiver glared at Denmark, frustration evident on her face.

"Amiver glared angrily at Denmark. "For goodness' sake, let me out of here, and I can sue you for what you've done," Amiver said angrily.

He didn't respond; instead, he abruptly left the room. Amiver then heard him turn the lock of the door.

Amiver couldn't help but cry over Denmark's actions. After a while, she began searching the room, hoping to find her cellphone or a way to get out. Unfortunately, her efforts were in vain as nothing turned up.

"Help! Help!" she cried out, hoping someone would hear her plea. Exhausted, she eventually sat down on the bed. Their flight to the US was scheduled soon, and she needed to return to Manila.

"Denmark, Denmark!" she yelled, pounding on the door. But there was no response or voice from the other side.

"What's going on with Denmark?" she wondered, her thoughts racing. She couldn't understand his actions or why he would do something like this.

Amidst her confusion, thoughts of Marcus came flooding back. She was sure that he was worrying about her, especially since she hadn't made it back home yet.

"I bought you clothes and underwear. If you need anything, just let me know, and we can get it," Denmark said as he entered the room later in the afternoon.

"Your food is untouched. Please eat, so you can have strength," he added.

Amiver suddenly stood up and rushed towards the door, hoping that it might now be unlocked with Denmark's presence. However, it remained locked.

"What's your plan here?" she demanded, looking straight at Denmark.

"My flight is tomorrow, Denmark, and there's a lot of work waiting for me in the US. Why are you doing this to me?" Amiver pleaded, her voice shaking with a mix of frustration and fear.

Denmark shook his head, his expression pained. "I know it's wrong, and I'm sorry for doing this. But I was desperate, Ami. I want us to talk, to really talk and work things out. I can't let you leave without giving us a chance."

Amiver wiped away her tears, her anger mixing with her confusion. "You can't force me to stay, Denmark. This is not the way to fix things. We already talked about the divorce, and I thought we agreed."

Denmark stepped closer to her, his voice earnest. "I know we talked about it, but Ami, there's so much more to discuss. Our relationship, our past, our mistakes... I want to understand you better, and I want you to understand me too."

Amiver looked at him, torn between her anger and the pain in his eyes. "We can't just erase the past, Denmark. It's not that simple."

I know," he said softly. "But we can't move forward if we don't face it. Please, Ami, just give me a chance to explain and apologize."

Amiver hesitated, her heart warring between her anger and the memories of what they used to have. She let out a shaky breath. "Fine, talk then.

As the tense atmosphere hung in the air, Denmark's voice trembled with vulnerability as he continued to bare his soul. His words were a revelation that held an unexpected twist, a secret long kept hidden, and it was as if time itself paused to let the weight of his confession sink in.

"When we were kids, I thought you were my sibling," Denmark began, his gaze locked on Amiver's eyes. "But Mama explained everything to me, and in my heart, you're really my sibling. So it stuck in my mind that I would take care of you and love you as my younger sister even though we're only a year apart in age. That's why when we got married , I was so angry with you and to my parents," Denmark's voice grew softer, his emotions laid bare. "But as I spent time with you, and saw you in our new house, my feelings for you changed. No longer as a sibling. That's why I didn't come home often, to clear my mind. I felt embarrassed to be under the same roof where it was just us, and my feelings were different."

Amiver's heart raced as she absorbed the depth of his words. The twist of fate that had been revealed shattered her understanding of their history, challenging the boundaries of their past. It was a revelation that left her grappling with a whirlwind of emotions – shock, confusion, and an unexpected spark of something new.
