Charlotte is exhausted and drained, a victim of her own success.
Wearing the skin and face of another person for a long time is not an easy thing, but she has to persevere because it is necessary.
Moreover, she had to keep Raylen's preferences in mind. It was a difficult balance to manage. Her demure sister would have never gone barging into any superior's office, much less a CEO's office.
But what else could Charlotte have done? Raylen likes a good chase. She could not give him the impression that she wanted to be close to him.
She was careful to avoid being perceived the same way as Bethany was. Raylen, from what she can tell, has little interest in women who throw themselves at him. He may sleep with them, yes, but he will not treat them as much more than one-night stands.
