Chapter 1

The story of a new generation has begun. Though not as most would expect. It was a peaceful morning for most but not for this boy. Pushing the front door open to his house, a sense of urgency filled his beating heart as he rushed out through the gate.

A neighbor adjacent to the entrance continued to throw bread at some crows early morning in an attempt to draw their attention only to have his own attention taken by the boy who dashed by a sign. A sign on the gate that read 'Tachibana Residence.'

"Please don't be sold out!" The boy thought to himself while bolting down the street as if he were an Olympic champion at the start gun. It didn't take long for him to reach a familiar point in his destination journey. The beating sound of his shoes echoed like a drum as if it was in a perfect rhyme.

His speed drastically decreased to mere small steps once he began to pass by a place most well-known to many Beybladers of the town, he smiled wide. The place where Tyson and his friends used to hang out in the past. It brought the boy excitement as he smiled at the spot with stars in his eyes but knew he couldn't stay long; otherwise, he would be late to school and a certain event he didn't want to miss. Passing by the town sign, he continued on his way to school, trying not to get distracted until he came across the place he wanted to encounter the most. Outside of the store he caught a glimpse of a particular display he'd been eyeing for weeks. On it, there were AR Headsets. The headset had only just been developed and unveiled last year, but the boy desperately wanted it.

"Okay, they aren't sold out yet! But …"

"It's three hundred, I saved enough for only one. If I buy it then I can't buy the Beyblade I need …"

Pressing his face against the cold glass, he sighed, desiring to own one for himself. With the latest pair, he could track down a strong bit-beast and possibly capture it. Gently touching the glass with his fingers, he whispered to himself, "Someday," letting out a light chuckle, his imagination started to run wild with all the things he could do with it but was soon reminded of school.

Stepping back from the glass to see his face imprinted onto it, he quickly wiped it away with his hand to leave no evidence behind. Especially recollecting the store owner reprimanding him for gawking the last time.

The boy picked up on a sudden loud sound as if thunder was coming down; however, it was just his stomach rumbling for food. Right then, he took a look of what was around and found a bun shop not too far away from where he was, licking his lips at the thought of food; he took the detour over to the store "three buns, please," smiling at the old lady that ran the shop who gladly gave him his order.

"Mmm! This is great! The breakfast of athletes!" His comment led to him taking a glance at the time on the clock behind the counter, noticing that he was running early, but he still had somewhere to go before school started. He made his exit with this in mind, walking fast enough yet not too fast as to not drop any of the food he had just bought but wanting to be quick to not miss a single second of the big event. Eventually, he arrived at school, but instead of walking through the gates, he walked over to a grassy hill near school. Waiting for him was a Beyblading match.

It ended quicker than he had expected but nonetheless enjoyed the view from on top of the hill. Smiling to himself, "Maybe by next year I can have both and then capture the best bit-beast of them all," giggling out loud before eating the last of his buns, he let his eyes gaze upwards at the bright blue sky, yet there was something strange even though it appeared crystal clear. He could tell that a storm was coming, giving no more thought to it as he heard the sound of kids chattering. Rushing back down the hill, this boy is Seita Tachibana.

It was now early morning lunch, and Seita had just made it to the playground in school. Some kids sat in groups talking while others played school games like tag but what was most important to Seita was the large Beyblade dome. Beyblade was one of the biggest sports in the whole world, and it always has been. It was no surprise that schools had built domes in every school for students to battle against each other.

Still, there was always that one kid that was better than the rest, and at Seita school, it was Gronk. The kid was known throughout the whole school, not just because he was the best at Beyblading but because he was one of the biggest bullies. One thing that Seita wanted to do once he got a Beyblade was to defeat Gronk. He even challenged him and that memory entered his mind as he neared the school stadium.

A few months ago, Seita had heard rumors of the unbeatable Gronk who'd moved in and transferred to their school and how he had never lost a Beyblade battle.

Seita thought that he would be a good opponent to fight once he got his Beyblade and his chance to challenge Gronk came during a trip to the boys restroom three months prior. That's when he decided to challenge him as he noticed Gronk enter a stall. All the while Gronk hadn't noticed anyone else in the bathroom until Seita spoke.

"I heard you know how to blade?" Seita wanted to go against him and win. He wanted to be the best Beyblader after all, and his first step was to win against the best player in his school. "Yeah, I've never been beaten" Gronk gave a proud smirk at all the kids he had destroyed at lunch. "You're pretty brave challenging me while I'm seated. You think you're any good?" Gronk said while seated, curious as to who it could be challenging him. Standing tall in front of the stall Gronk was in, Seita speaks confidently, "when I get a Beyblade, we are gonna have a match!"

"Sure! If it's one thing about this school is you worms never give up. Mind passing some paper in the next stall?" What Gronk said threw off Seita's proclamation.

With the promise in his mind, he walks towards where the action was starting, and there he was, Gronk facing off against another kid. That kid's name being Clam. Most people already knew the end result but still stayed to watch the battle. Placing his hands on the railing before jumping over and walking more into the crowd. Finally, finding a good spot to catch the fight as his eyes never left the ring. He was so amazed by the idea of blading as he carried on watching the Beyblades going at it. Both of them struck each other, grinding along the ridge, but Gronk's brown Beyblade had hit Clam's grey Beyblade back.

Clam reacting to his Beyblade losing speed as he yells out "boost!" giving his Beyblade an extra spin rotation boost, hoping to push through and beat the bully. This boost is accessible one time per match for both bladers. The grey Beyblade charged at forty percent, meaning it wasn't that powerful; however, shockingly, it still managed to strike Gronk's Beyblade and get it to the ridge of the ring.

Gronk roared out the name of his bit-beast while gritting his teeth, "Chayles bear, come out!" All the kids surrounding the match quickly tapped their AR glasses to see the scene reveal itself. Gronk's bit-beast was released as everyone began chatting excitedly.

It was a cute chubby little bear standing at 4 feet in height.

Seita glancing over at one of the kids next to him and gently tapping his shoulder. The kid raises his eyebrows, waiting for Seita to speak, "how many times has Gronk won?" Seita remembered hearing about it before, but he couldn't recall the number. He waits a second as the kid thinks before he leaned over and spoke in his ear as the crowd was now too loud. "ninety-eight with zero losses." Seita was in shock but quickly focused back on the match as Gronk's chubby little bear, bit beast by the name of 'Chayles Bear' was now wrecking the other child's Beyblade just after being released by Gronk. Slapping its paws against the other blades, the strikes caused Clam's Beyblade to bounce back until it was blasted up into the air and all the way into Gronk's hand.

The bully himself stood there looking proud with a smirk on his face after defeating yet another Beyblade. Not a single second was wasted by the merciless Gronk. Tossing Clam's Beyblade into the bottom of the abyss below the dome, where no one would be able to get it. Clam's Beyblade was now gone forever, glancing at Clam to see him on the ground with tears in his eyes. "I worked so hard to get this Beyblade. So much homework! My parents aren't gonna allow me to get another one," he was quietly speaking to himself in disbelief. Gronk stood above him, listening to the boy whisper away, "next time, don't get cocky." This was the first time Seita had ever seen the aftermath of a match with Gronk. He couldn't believe someone could be that cruel. Being the person Seita was, he couldn't just sit back and watch him treat people like that.

Once again, marching over to the bully and standing up for all the people he had versed. Standing in front of Clam as he shouts out to him, "Gronk, who do you think you are to just treat someone's Beyblade like that." Seita was glaring at Gronk while everyone was staring at the two.

Gronk let out a laugh before speaking, "I'm the winner. That's how it works here. The winner can do whatever he wants." Seita goes to say something but is quickly silenced when Gronk speaks again, "do you even have a Beyblade yet?" His voice was mocking as he remembers back to the time when Seita came into his classroom, acting all confident after having followed Gronk out of the restroom. Seita quietly looks to the ground, embarrassed that he still doesn't have one. His silence gave Gronk his answer as he laughs yet again in amusement. "What a joke! Talking all big but can't even fight. When you get one, then we can talk until then, shut it!" The crowd laughs at Seita as Gronk shoves past him, but before he is out of his sight. He pauses in his movement to turn back at the boys. "I'll give you until tomorrow to get a Beyblade, and then we can finally have a match" Seita's eyes widened at the boy's request, but before he could speak, Gronk spoke once more. "If you win, I'll be nice enough to give this loser a new Beyblade," pointing over to Clam that was still stuck on the ground before walking away. Seita stands there as everyone begins making their way back to class.

"Uh …" Seita brought his attention to Clam. "Do you plan to be stuck to the ground there the entire day? That's not going to bring back your beyblade you know ..."

"I know that … you dimwit." Said Clam lowly. "What am I going to tell my parents? There's no way I'll be a snitch"

Seita moved over and Stuck his hand out to Clam, but to his surprise, Clam slaps it away harshly. "Go away. Nothing you do will bring it back" his face was full of despair as his eyes peered over at the dome. "Well , when I'm the best blader, we can come back and have the dome risen, and then you can get your Beyblade back" Seita's smile was bright as he tried again to help the boy out. This time instead of slapping it away Clam ignored the help and stood up on his own, and began walking away. Before he was out of his sight, Seita shouted to him, "I promise I will get it back one day but for now, let me defeat Gronk for your and everyone's sake." Just when he thought Clam wouldn't say anything, he heard him, "yeah, whatever." Seita strolls, thinking about his promise he made to Clam but soon hears the last bell ring and rushes off to his class.

He arrived just on time and took his seat as soon as the teacher walked in, not listening to a word he said about the starting topic for the class. His mind found itself scattered with worries about how to obtain a Beyblade. Pondering on the thought of asking his dad but rejects it as he can already guess that he would say no. Suddenly an idea that could work popped into his brain, and shouted out in front of the whole class, "I got an idea!" The loud shout drew the attention of everyone, including his teacher, who was looking at him with his arms crossed, "and what is this idea Tachibana?" His homeroom teacher stood there staring at him as Seita began to feel awkward under his gaze and started to rub the back of his head. "Sorry um, I forgot it" he lies out of it to try to get everyone's eyes off him.

Eventually, school had come to an end for Seita, but as he was packing away his things, he glanced at the sky through the classroom window. The sky had now changed from that bright blue clear scene to now it had begun to get more cloudy. Reminding himself of his plan for a Beyblade and giggling with high hopes that everything would work out. Putting his blue windbreaker, jacket hoodie over his head before grabbing his bag and heading out of school. He passed the school gates and started to speed down the street, but found he couldn't help but slow down when again he crossed some familiar areas on his way home. It's a bridge where Tyson and the others would visit often. The wind blows past him, whispering memories into his ears of a young woman telling him. "This place was so fun!"

Not trying to waste any more time than he already has to get himself a Beyblade as he moves along. But something distracts him; he sees a little spider-like creature just hanging on one of the trash bins. It was strange; there was something different about it compared to the typical spiders he would normally encounter. Swiftly brushing it off, he carries on his way to his goal.

Passing by the sign that states' Tachibana residence' he closed the small gate that led to the entrance way straight to the door and kicked off his shoes once inside. Leaving them by the entrance, Seita thought of what'd he'd say by the time he walked to his room to begin his homework before he could start his plan.

His sister was in the shower as he could hear the water running from his room. Trying to finish off all the work he had been given today before his sister came out. Seita sat down at his wooden desk and took out all the homework that needed to be completed. "All of this by tomorrow? No wonder the bag felt heavy- I wasn't just imagining it"

The sound of the faucet in the bathroom was soon turned off, meaning that she was finished showering. "Seita, did you close the door?" his sister shouted from the bathroom as he speedily wrote down things on the paper in front of him. He let out an annoyed sigh as he put his pencil down to answer her "yes," giving her a quick and short answer before he went back to his work.

Continuing writing even though he could hear her approaching his door from the creeks of the floor. Slowly, the girl slid the doorknob and stepped in to see her brother speedily writing things on a paper. Glancing up quickly to see his sister, Hilary standing there in a pink bathrobe. "Can't you knock on my door" he let out yet another annoyed sigh, whereas she let out a little chuckle.

Moving over to where her little brother sat, she ruffled his messy hair, making it even messier, "you are such a good boy." Her voice was in a mocking tone as if she was treating him like a dog. Hilary was genuinely shocked at the sight of her younger brother doing his homework early as he was the type to leave it to the last minute, asking her for help. But today, he was sitting at his desk with no help needed and doing it straight after school.

Something seemed to click in her mind as she narrowed her eyes at him before crossing her arms, knowing something was up. "What do you want?" he put his pencil down as he looked up at her with a cute and sweet smile before replying back, "you're so smart, sis." Seita was trying to butter her up by giving her compliments, but it seemed it wasn't working as her eyes narrowed even more.

Dropping his head on his desk for just a second before getting the courage to ask her. Seita sprung up from his chair, "please buy me a blade!" He asked politely, wishing his sister would be nice enough to do him this one thing.

"You want kendo lessons?"

"No! A Beyblade!"

Hilary gave him a cheerful smile full of optimism and hope to just crush his request with one simple word "no." Both of their smiles dropped as the young woman swiftly turned around to walk out of his room, but Seita briskly slid over in front of her, stopping her advancements. "Move" he obeyed her order if only for a second, still not wanting to give up as he followed after her like a little puppy.

"Why?! I haven't asked you for anything before! All I want is one blade to play with my friends at school," he was begging her at this point, but Hilary wasn't having any of it as she frowned down at him. Placing her hands gently on her hip and shaking her head at his request. Slowly her towel slipped down to her shoulders, which she grabbed and held the towel tightly in her hands.

"It'll distract you from studying, and anyways those things are no good," looking to the side as she let out a tired sigh, Hilary averted her brother's gaze.

She could tell her brother was getting annoyed and angry with her, but she stood her ground. The younger sibling yelled at her, "No good?! You used to hang out with the Bladebreakers! How can you say that?" The boy just couldn't understand where his sister was coming from. Yet again, another sigh left her mouth before walking off towards the stairs but pausing in her step, "That's exactly why it's no good." She began moving again but Seita continued whining loudly out to her "Come on!" he screamed and shouted, but she ignored him and kept walking before Seita grabbed ahold of her leg. Practically brushing his cheek against her knee.

Hilary stopped again in her place, scared that he would get hurt if she moved with him down the stairs, "I said no, you are not getting one, so stop acting like a baby" her voice was loud and clear. There was no more room for discussion as he let go of her.

Hearing her say that caused him to keep quiet and puff out his cheeks as if holding in his rage; he soon began turning red. Seita took off down the stairs, for the entrance of quiet home. He turning towards the door and slid on his shoes without bothering to tie them in a rush, the boy shouted one last thing, "You are so unfair! I hate you!" Hilary watched him at the top of the step as he stormed out of the house and closed the door gently behind him before running as quickly as he could.

Meanwhile, as he ran, Hilary sat down on the stairs, gently reaching for her chest, letting out a deep breath that she had been holding in before walking to her room. Turning on the lights and flopping onto her warm and secure bed. She had other things in mind enough to ignore the plushies and pillows that tumble down to the floor. She laid on her bed while gazing up at the ceiling before closing her eyes softly, letting the memories pass through her mind. A single tear falls down from her eyes as she whispers to the empty, lonely house.

"Why does this have to happen?"
