Ch.6: How is she?

[mc POV].

Talking for a while, I smiled at those around me, tenzin and Pema put the kids down. Korra asked more questions about the spirit world, only to get tired and fall asleep on my shoulder.

'This girl, I can't believe she's so bull headed, no that's a lie.. I can' sighing I thought to myself as I looked at the drooling Korra.

"Looks like someone took a liking to you, wouldn't you say Jin?".

"Ha, yeah I guess that would happen after saving someone mother".

"You could say that all you want, but even after so long.. you still have the comforting feeling about you".

"I wasn't always like that".

Pushing Korra's hair out of the way, looking over to katara who smiled. Looking at the drooling Korra.

"You say that but even you know, you changed even some of the most stubborn of hearts". Walking over to me katara rubbed my cheek.

"You think so? Maybe your right" helping Korra up, I carried her and walked behind katara.

We walked in silence as she heard the sadness in my voice, walking into the room she pointed at the bed. I placed her down and walked to the door. Feeling my mother grab my hand, turning to her I saw her bright smile.

"It's not to late, do not let your heart be so heavy".

"I know mom, I I I.. I missed so much.. and I left her behind". Looking back at her with one eye, I placed my hand on the door and said with uncertainty in my voice.

Walking out of the door katara followed, watching me walk on to the balcony at the far end of the long hall.

'You need to let that go, she missed you..as much as you missed her' shaking her head, she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Mother, I finally put the kids to sleep.. what's wrong Mother?" Tenzin who had come back to find everyone was gone, only to find katara with a strange look.

"It's Jin, I'm sure he thinks that she has forgotten about him.. or that to much time has passed".

"*sigh.. I'll talk to him mother, I can understand or atleast I can try" tenzin spoke, kissing katara's forehead before walking down the hall.

Standing out in the snowy night, the moons glow seemed so dim, I looked out at the place that looked completely different from when I left.

"A lot of time has passed.. huh Jin".

"Yeah, I can't even recognize the place".

"Yeah, I guess you would. Still the place we fought was converted in to a air temple monument in your name. The first of its kind".

"A air bender monument in the southern water tribe Ha, I never would have thought.. still it was all of us who helped that day".

"We knew you'd say that, that's why all of our statues are there".

Smiling and laughing tenzin said with a proud look. I knew he was trying to help me feel better but I still had a pained feeling in my heart.

"Come on tenzin".

"Huh, why are you?! Jin!! No no no!".

Turning to tenzin I grabbed his air bender robe, pulling him towards me as I jumped off the balcony. Letting go as I made a wind scooter and landed. Tenzin swung his arms around, blasting wind that stopped his fall.

"Come on Jin! You could have killed us!".

"Shut up and race me!".

"No! We're to old for that now!".

"Awe, tenzin still as scared as always! Those old bones can't keep up".

"What?! No! You won't trick me into it this time!".

"Pretty sure mom can move better then you" laughing at tenzin's red face, I tried to bait him into racing. Looking as he stomped away just to stop.

"Don't bring our mother into this!".

"Well then prove me wrong old man! Let go!".

"Ah! Your on!".

Tenzin yelled at me, turning red as he made a scooter and chased after me. Snow flew as we raced across the ice, laughing as he shot air at me, i swung my hand back and used wind to smack his face with snow. He couldn't help but laugh as we went back and forth.

"I haven't seen him this happy in a long time".

"Yes it has been a long time hasn't it, I'm glad to see that he still can let go sometimes".

"Even though he won't say it, him and bumi missed there brother. Even if he isn't blood the bond they share..".

"Is something that can't be broken, no matter how much time passes".

Katara and pema looked down on us. Watching us play and kick up snow. Pema smiled at us, thinking about how we all once played and katara just smiled. A small tear left her eye as she thought to herself.

'Welcome home.. son' being hugged by Pema as the moon shined so bright.

Racing across the ice, we finally made it to the large monument. Jumping off the air Scooter, I watched tenzin land next to me. Laughing as he was out of breath but happy, patting my shoulder we walked inside. Seeing the cylinder like shape of the temple, with its high ceilings and Lotus style tiles. Looking forward at statutes of us, Tenzin, bumi, me, kya and others. Walking up to on in a earth bender stance, that was along side mine, I placed my hand on it and thought.

"Jin".

"It's ok".

"We don't have to stay here, we can..".

"It's fine tenzin.. I just, I just want to ask you something".

"Jin you can ask me anything..".

"Ha, I know.. just tell me.. how has she been".

Looking up slowly to the face of the statue, the face of a young lin could be seen, the moon shined down on the statues face and I couldn't help but think about what I truly missed most in this world.

'I'm sorry it took so long for me to return.. but I'm back and all I long for is to see your face.. Lin'.
