Chapter 2: Ginger Town

A man wanders into a cave with his winter gear while the snowstorm roars behind him.

"I thought I was a goner."He pulls his scarf down, revealing a scar on the edge of the lip like he pulled frostbite.

The man took his goggles off and pulled his fur hood back: revealing black short; hair reaching down his ears.

His brown eyes gazed about in the darkness before the man lit his lantern, walking deeper into the cave.

He kept his guard with a flare gun in hand, coming to a detour.

"Shoot, There gotta be something to get me inside." He wandered around until he noticed a hole too small for his size. "Damn." He felt a shiver down his spine.

The scarred man stood to his feet.

"I know you out there." He aims his only defense at the darkness beyond his light source.

His pants grew harsh at the deafening silence and snow roaring outside.

The scarred man heard ice crackling from above.

A cone of ice broke off: heading his way. The scarred man dives from the crash course.

The ice breaks into pieces while green beetle-like eyes stare him down from the scarred man's only exit.

He shoots his flare gun while it passes through: freezing the fridge plank into a solid dull light source.

The green eyes continue their way, floating toward the scarred man.

The scarred man reloads his flare gun. "Let's dance!"

----

'Use me all you want.' A whisper states within Void. 'I'll get out soon.'

Will yawns, sitting up from his bunk. He noticed snow smacking against the window.

The boy wipes his eyes once more.

"It's snowing at the start of summer?" He questions himself.

Will hops off the bunk, seeing Gwen sleeping like an angel compared to Benita.

He walked from their sleeping quarters to see Max driving.

"Morning." Will stretches while Max glance at the head mirror.

"Morning, Will. What got you up so early?" Max questioned.

"Don't know." He groans, finishing his stretch. "I'm fully charged."

"That's good. Do you mind chatting: with me? I need an extra pair of eyes seeing through a blizzard like this one."

"Sure, let me wash, and I'll come back to ya." Max nods.

Will walks back to the back of the RV.

Benita slept below Will's bunk, snoring as her hair was all over the place: while drool oozed from her mouth.

"For some odd reason: I find this cute, hmm?" Will said to himself while fumbling in his drawer.

He got the stuff he needed and noticed Gwen turned from him: toward the window above her.

Will went about his business, heading to the bathroom and jumping in the shower.

"AHH!!!" He stumbles back from the cold water, shivering. "Is this even a good idea?" He gazed at the extremely hot nozzle.

"Will you ok back there?" Max called.

"I'm fine. Just shock is all." Will called before playing with the nozzle. "Come...on." He kept turning the nozzle, and hot water began flowing once again. "Jesus, if you were here." He cracks a smile.

He finishes and drys off until he begins shivering.

Ice spread all around the bathroom, crackling within his ears.

"Max?!" Will called, but he never answered.

His teeth clatter while he hurriedly put on his clothes.

'You.' He looks up at the mirror, breathing out cold air. Green beetle eyes, staring right back at him.

He jumps, seeing his reflection.

Will noticed it was staring at him.

He waves and checks his face while the eyes in the mirror copy his every move.

"...Freaky." Will said to himself.

'Help usssss.' Will looks around and back at his reflection.

'Help usssss.' The whisper repeats.

"Help, who? Who are you?" Will's lip trembled.

'Follow.'

"I want to help, but I need to know what I'm dealing with!" He declared.

Ice covered the mirror, blurring it.

A camouflaged three-finger hand reaches out through the mirror, inches from his cold face.

Will jumps, hearing rapid knocking on the door.

"Hey, Will come on! Tag out!!" Benita whines behind the door.

Will turn his attention to the bathroom that is back to normal.

"Uh, yeah...I'm coming out." He quickly brushed his teeth and walked out.

Benita hastily enters and closes the door behind her.

Will noticed Gwen getting out of bed, rubbing her sleepy eyes.

"You look like you got something on your mind." She yawns while Will places his dirty clothes in a bag.

"Yeah, just clueless about the blizzard." Gwen raises a brow.

"Something is bothering you. What is it?" She approached him.

"I'm fine, Gwen. I'm a little shaken up about the blizzard and all." Will walked past Gwen, and then Benita came out with a sigh.

"That was close. I almost turn Fourarms and bust down that door."

Max lightly glare through the head mirror.

"Do that, your fixing it." Benita sweats while Will sits in the passager seat next to Max.

Benita notices Gwen staring at Will hard.

"Myers to Gwen?" She waves her hand in front of her eyes. Suddenly Gwen grabs Benita by her shirt and pulls her to the back of the RV. "Ow, hey!"

"Ben and I gonna have a little chat, Grandpa." Gwen stated.

"Those two are always up to something, am I right? " Max said to Will, noticing him looking out the window. "You alright, son?"

Max questioned, breaking Will from his trance.

"Uh, What? Yeah, I'm fine." Max stares for a second and turns back on the road.

"I want your opinion. What should I cook?" Will eyes shot open?

---

"Hey, What's your problem?!" Benita pats her ironic black and white shirt.

"I think Will is hiding something." Gwen's eyes glance to Will's seat.

"And, what you want me to do about it?" She folds her arms, raising a brow.

"Ugh! Do I need to spell it out for you? Will is hiding something."

Benita frowns.

"Gwen, I am all up for detective work, but there are some cases I won't even dare touch. Don't you think it's something personal?"

"If it's personal or not, we should at least know what we're dealing with."

"Your beginning to sound like a Communist, my teachers always preach. He doesn't have to share every bit of information for your benefit. Miss. Stalin."

"No, I didn't mean it like that. And don't compare me to that name!"

"You could've fooled me! What else do you want? The moon? Superhuman strength? America?"

"Stop comparing me to him!" Benita turns from her raising her two fingers over her shoulder.

"Good luck, detective. You're going to need it!" Benita leaves while Gwen looks out the window.

Gwen sighs, rubbing the bridge of her nose.

....

"Ginger Town." Will replied as The RV past the welcome sign covered in snow and ice.

"That's good. It'll be best if we go indoors and get some heat. Did your kids bring your winter coats?" Max questioned.

"Yes, grandpa." Gwen and Benita answered while Will grinned nervously.

"I didn't pack any."

"They're a thing you should learn from going on trips like these." Benita chimes, sitting in the booth, focusing on her handheld game device. "It's better; to not need it and have it than have it and not need it."

"Consider yourself lucky, Will." Max gains the boy's attention. " I have a spare in the back." Max grins at Will, who sighs, relieved. "Gwen, could you show him?"

"Sure, grandpa." Gwen waved to Will to follow.

Will climbed out of the seat and followed Gwen to the door in front of the bathroom.

She opens it, revealing a set of coats and clothes from new to old.

"Hmm, here we are." Gwen hands Will a grey winter coat. "It's not my taste, but that'll have to do."

"If you ask me. Your taste is quite underwhelming." Benita remarked from afar, releasing a slight chuckle.

"And this coming from a girl with simulate black and white shirts?" Gwen countered while Will eyed a pair of black leather gloves.

He grabs it, getting Gwen's attention.

"Ah, So this is where it ends up to." Will eyed Gwen.

"What about it?" He questioned.

"Grandpa used to wear that like it was part of him when I was six. I hardly understand the reason behind it." Will gazes at the gloves before putting them back. "Will."

Will's eyes land on Gwen, gazing at him, concerned.

"What's wrong?" Gwen questioned.

"What do you mean?" Will squinted his eyes.

"You haven't been yourself since this morning."

"Gwen, I'm fine." Will gives a reassuring smile.

"You-"

"Hey, Will." Benita cut Gwen off before wrapping her arm around Will's shoulder. "I need your help for a moment." She hands him her handheld game. "I need your help passing this level."

"Uh, I think-"

"You got it.~" Benita begins walking Will to the booth. "It never hurt to use outside help." Benita looks back at Gwen with a glare.

Gwen can only fold her arms.

....

Max parks in a lot in front of a Hotel with a few cars and trucks scattered. The blizzard roared, not giving them a pleasant welcome.

Opening the door, Benita steps out, adjusting her navy blue scarf.

"Shoot, it's cold!" Benita puts her hands in the pits of her green puff jacket.

Gwen comes out in a sky blue winter coat with a fur hood over her head and a Scarlet red scarf wrapped around her face. She places her hands into her pockets.

Will climbed out right behind.

"Ugh." Will shivered.

Max was the last to come out in a blue winter coat and a fur hat, locking the Rv.

"Come on! Let's not freeze our toes off." Max suggested.

They speed walked across the lot and into the front door. Max held the door, letting the children in before closing it behind him, shivering.

"Oh, hey! A fireplace. I'm freezing my fingers off!" Benita jogs to it.

"Tell me about it." Will and Gwen followed behind.

The hotel looks like any other three-star: green patch couches, brown fur carpets, and a bar right by the fireplace.

Max approached the desk, warming his hands. He goes to ring the bell.

"There's no need. I heard your kids from the break room." The Hotel Clerk exited from the door leading to the back. "Looking for a room?" She questioned

"Grandkids, yes. Two is fine." Max pulls out his wallet.

"Are you fine being on the second floor? The few rooms on the bottom floor: ac blew out not too long ago." She began pressing something on the pad. "..On the worst time." She said to herself.

"What was that?"

"Just relating, the weather. It's hard finding an electrician with the weather like this. 44.34$"

"How long has it been like this?" Max questioned.

The Receptionist thinks a bit.

"A month."

"Can I give it a look? I was an electrician back in my prime." Max goes to pull something out of his wallet, but the Receptionist stops him.

"If you can fix it, I'll let you stay for the night and the night after. Plus, the boss would be relieved to fix the problem by not spending too much." She smiled.

The entrance opens, gaining everyone's attention. The door closes in a hurry revealing A man in winter gear.

He pulled his gloves off, rubbing his shaky hands together.

"Oooh." The man's voice shook.

Snow slides off his jacket and onto the wooden plank as he approaches the desk. He pulled his scarf down, revealing it to be the scarred man.

"Sorry about the little scare. Do you mind me using your fireplace?" He pulled the goggles from his brown eyes, looking at the flabbergasted Hotel clerk.

"Not at all."

"Thank you." He speeds and walks to the fireplace.

"You three. Give some room." Max called while the kids let the guy by.

"You got frostbite all over. How long were you out there?" Gwen questioned concern.

"Thanks for your hospitality, but all I need is a little fire and shut-eye." The scarred man sighed, lying on his back near the fireplace crackling.

"Alright, guys. Leave him be, and let's get settled in." Max held the keys standing behind the couch over the three.

"Aw, what?! Let's stay here for a bit, grandpa! This fire is my only friend." Benita protest.

"That's quite sad." Will lightly smirks while Benita punches his shoulder.

"You know what I mean." She pouts.

"Gwen." Max glances at her.

"We can stay here for a while until you are ready."

Max hands Gwen the keys.

"Room 25 on the second floor, You three are right next to mine. The young lady will show me the problem. I'll be around. Gwen, you will be in charge."

"What?! Why her?" She challenged while Gwen counted her fingers.

Gwen: "Hmmm, let's see you snuck away without giving us a moment's notice. You destroyed uncle Harry's cake and ruined the surprise, and don't forget you almost hit Will with the RV."

"She got you there." Will nods to Gwen.

The Scarred man snicker.

The Receptionist wrapped her navy scarf around her neck while Max noticed.

"Ok. Come out only when you go to your room. I'll try to get us some snacks."

They nod while the Receptionist and Max leave through the front door.

"Judging by your misfortune, You kids experience some case of adventures." The scarred man smirked.

"Uuuh, you can say that." Benita sits against the leg of the couch in between Will and Gwen.

"Let me clarify." He turns around on his butt with his back to the fireplace. The fire crackles his hidden mood while he gazes at the three. "You shouldn't have come."

"My Instinct tells me, their going to be backstory." Will flicks her head. "Ugh! Hey!!!"

"Take this seriously. This storm can be the end of us." Will stated seriously.

"Storm?" The scarred man chuckles. "That's not the only factor here."

"What is this other 'factor'?" Gwen questioned.

"I called it The Frost Phantom. In my experience, I could've been a goner, but it seems I'm rolling six's." Gwen squinted her eyes.

'Does running blind terrorize you?' Another whisper filled Will's head. He shakes it off.

"Do you consider you might lead it here to finish the job?" Gwen questioned.

"If it did, I would've been killed. Long ago." The scarred man replied.

"What does it do?" Will asked.

The Scarred man sits up while shaking his head.

"I'm surprised you're taking this well. Everyone in this town called me crazy."

"We all should be alert at times. The Storm. Frost Phantom. Everything." Gwen continued. "What does it do?"

"All I know is it blows cold air that freezes anything into solid ice. As well as camouflage freezing anything it touches." The scarred man's eyes widen. " Shoot! I don't mean to be rude. The name Shaw, Shaw Goodmen. I'm just a man trying to get his town back." Benita leans to Will and whispers.

"Goodmen? That sounds pretty sus." She whispered while Will gently pushed Benita back down.

"When you go back to your room: keep a lookout. When you see green beetles like eyes." Shaw sat his; satchel beside him before pulling out a flare gun. "Use this, and I'll come running." He passes the flare gun to Will.

Will take it.

"Oh yeah, ok." Gwen and Benita sense Will's anxiety spiked.

"As much I like to hear more, I think we should get going." Benita gets up.

"Yeah, thanks for the talk." Gwen and Benita get ready while Will does the same and leaves.

"You be careful now." Shaw turns back to the fireplace, watching the fire crackle. "It might pop up unexpectedly.

....

Benita drops face-first on the bed in her usual attire.

"Home sweet home."

"Whatever, you snore. We're going to have a problem." Gwen sat her bag on her bed.

"Sorry, I think I miss heard you." Gwen and Benita glared while Will walked by them. He sat on the chair in front of the two queen size beds.

"Three days into this trip. You guys have beef." Will sat his luggage under the table.

"Will, social distancing is the name of the game. You don't want Gwen to give you Cooties."

"I do not!!! I swear, Ben!" Gwen paused before soothing her forehead with her fingers. "You're just so annoying." She whispers the last bit.

"I didn't quite catch that. Cat caught your tongue?" Benita smirks, causing Gwen to growl.

"Hey, Hey, cool it, you two." Will intervened. "How are we going to settle the sleeping arrangement?" Benita and Gwen blush.

"Well, uh...you could sleep with me?" Gwen shrugs.

"Uh ah, he wants to sleep with his best friend and mentor. Am I right, Willy?" Benita bounces her brow.

"What the matter? It's only one night." Gwen asked innocently. "If you ask me, you seem desperate for his attention."

"I-uh..." Benita bites her lip, looking away.

"I guess...I'll bunk with Ben, yeah?" Will said nervously.

Surprising, the two. "Besides, Gwen, you said it yourself. 'It's only one night.'" Benita took a W while Gwen sat on her bed, looking out her window.

"That's fine."

....

"I see the problem, thaw." Max and the Hotel Clerk stare down at the power box covered in ice.

"Do you need a hand?" She kept her hands in her coat pocket.

"It'll be a huge help." He begins breaking the ice and opens it.

Revealing four switches; <Lobby, Rooms, TF AC and LF AC.>

"Can you hand me a screwdriver?" Max picks up his voice.

She nods, handing him the screwdriver.

"So, what brought you to Ginger Town?" The hotel clerk questioned.

"Just passing by. My grandkids, summer break just began a few days ago. I don't want the television; to rotten their brilliant minds."

The Hotel Clerk smirks.

"My dad likes that. He always wanted me to go to college."

Max snicker.

"What makes you not go?" Max opens the panel seeing four wires, but one has water on it and a bit of wire showing.

"Don't have much interest in it, really, but only time can tell."

Max fumbled with the wire a bit.

"I see it blew out. How long has it been like this?"

"Being honest, I haven't checked."

Max opened his palm out to her.

"Hand me. The wire cutters." The Hotel Clerk does so, placing the screwdriver in his tools box. She gets a chill up her spine, Max noticed. "You can head back inside. I'll get it done in a few."

"I think we should stick together. Plus, I'll feel bad leaving you all on your own."

"Sure, give me a minute." Without their notice, green beetle eyes were stalking them from afar.

It snaps its eyes toward the second-floor window with the lights currently on.

....

Gwen is typing on her computer, lying across her bed. Benita is messing with her watch on hers while Will is staring at his hand, trying to focus. Ben noticed Will.

"Hey, Will? What are you doing?"

"Oh, I'm trying to focus a single limb into Nova. 'It can't hurt to try.' But I can't get it." Will stares at his hand, causing Benita to smirk.

"That's smart." Gwen compliment.

"Honestly, I wish I was like you." Benita leans back with her head against the pillow.

"And what then, Be more annoying than you already are?"

"You know you can't be you without me." She smirked as Gwen rolled her eyes.

Will snickered.

'Follow.' The cold whisper from before gains Will's attention.

His eyes land on green beetle eyes peeking behind the curtains.

Will gets up, walking toward it getting Benita and Gwen's attention.

"What is it?" Gwen questioned. Will slide the curtains away, seeing the blizzard. "Will?"He continued looking out until he saw it again, but this time on the lot.

'Follow.'

"I have to go." Will grabs his coat, throwing on his shoes.

"Yo, what did you find?" Benita questioned, yet Will Ignore her.

'Follow.'

"Will?" Gwen called, but Will put on his coat. "Will?! I know you hear me!" Gwen blocks his way. "Will, what's going on?"

"I don't know. That's why I'm walking out." He tries to get by, but Gwen blocks his way again.

'Follow.' The whisper repeated.

"Listen, Will. Ever since this morning, you've been acting weird!" Gwen continued while Will looked around her shoulder, seeing green eyes staring. "Tell me. You know we are here for you."

"I know, but I got everything under control." Gwen planted her feet by the door. "Gwen, please get out the way." He pleads.

'Follow.' The whisper repeated.

"Not till you tell me." Gwen remains firm.

"I think we should—"

"Ben, can you shut it for one second?!" Gwen cut her off as she stared back at Will. Benita only glared. "Please!" Gwen shouts.

Will pace about, trying to keep his cool.

"Gwen."

Gwen only folds her arms.

'We need you!' The whisper sounded a bit desperate.

"I have the right to know!" Gwen shouts.

"YOU GET YOUR DAMN ANSWER! WHEN YOU GET OUT MY WAY!" Will boom causing Gwen and Benita to flinch. Will moved to pass Gwen before slamming the door shut.

He approached the railing on the second floor, noticing the eyes standing on the road.

'Follow.'

Will looks back to the door before clicking his tongue. He vaults over the railing turning into a ball of flames.

Nova braced the landing.

"What do you want from me?!" Nova walked across the lot as his heat lit his way. "Don't try anything funny!"

The eyes only stare.

"Hello! Who's out there?!" The hotel clerk's shout caught Nova's attention.

"Children, is that you?" Max followed.

The green eyes flew off, taking down the road.

"Ok." Nova took after it.

Shaw opens the door seeing the bright hue in the middle of the street before turning a corner.

"Jesus Christ on a bike."

Nova followed the shaped wings a few feet away, taking to the skies.

'Death is possible for this mistake.' A whisper went by Nova's head as his focus was on the pursuit.

Nova saw the figure make a sharp turn over a few buildings cutting him from his sight.

"Shit!" Nova stared at his hands. "Please, don't let this kill me." He fired a stream of flames from his palms towards the ground: melting the ice.

Nova super leap over a building. He noticed the eyes waiting for him. Earth Gravity pulled him back.

Nova swings his arms and legs wildly. He screams for dear life as he is headed straight for an air vent.

"Fuuuuck!!! Nova crashed back-first onto a vent. He groans.

'You must follow.' The familiar cold voice states.

Nova sat up, noticing the blizzard lessen, giving him a sight of the buildings leading to beetle eyes.

Nova stood to his feet, rolling his arms.

"Ok, you can do this." He hopped on his toes before taking toward the edge.

Nova leaped off: falling toward a rooftop, but he was off. His hands burst with flames, boosting him onto the roof with a rough landing.

He stood back up once more, doing the same. This time he rolled to his feet.

Nova raced across the rooftops, getting used to his method. Following the wings.

Nova crouch-leap across an air vent, racing toward the edge and leaping toward another roof. Nova boosts into the air, rolling onto the roof.

Nova races around across another rooftop, coming to a dead end.

Ahead of him was a snowy plain. The Frost Phantom continued without him.

"Can I make that?" Nova panted. "Come on, Will." He walked toward the other side of the roof to start him off. "I have to try."

He took off, leaving a burnt footprint.

Nova's heartbeats from his chest.

'To become a Spark. You must learn to fly.' Echos of voices roamed his mind.

'What if I can't?!'

'Novis, there is no such thing as can't.'

Nova's eyes became blurry.

'I want to become a Spark! No! I must become one!!'

A hue of a cliff made of charcoal took the appearance of the rooftop.

Nova leaps off it while a bright light consumes him.

-----

Through the eyes of Novis, he falls from the cliff before shooting himself across the dark sky. Screaming his head off.

'VILGAX, I'LL HAVE YOUR HEAD!!'

The bright light consumes him.

----

Nova shoots himself across plains and in-between the mountains, following The Frost phantom at jet pace.

----

"There it goes again!" Frost escapes from the Hotel clerk's breath while the children shout from their room over the blizzard.

"Grandpa!! Grandpa!!!"

Max races to their room with the Hotel clerk following behind. He entered, noticing Benita and Gwen getting dressed.

"What happening?" Max questioned while The Hotel clerk closed the door shut.

"Will ran out and noticed something but never told us!" Benita threw on her jacket.

"We have to go after him!" Gwen threw on her hood.

"And what, Interrogate him some more?!"

"I made a mistake!"

"And where was this?!" Gwen and Benita began arguing.

"Enough!" Max raised his voice, getting the cousins to stop. "We'll get to the bottom of this after. We find Will."

"Wait, Wait, not in this blizzard! You will die of hyperthermia, or whatever that thing is!" The Hotel clerk testified.

"That thing out there won't stop me from getting to Will." Max's eyes harden, gaining the respect of the two cousins. "It going to be dangerous. If I have to bet, there's more coming about now." They exit the room.

The hotel clerk swallows nervously.

"I'll stay here with the other guests." She sweats.

The Tennysons rush to the RV. They entered. Benita closes the door shut, preventing any more snow from entering.

Max cranks the RV, but it hasn't jumped.

"Shoot. It seems the motor frozen over." Max grasps the wheel, thinking.

"Come on, how are we going to follow them? They're probably long gone by now?!" Gwen grasped her head.

Benita smirks down at the Omnitrix.

"If we can't chase him down." The Omnitrix chimed."How about we track him." A green flash illuminated the RV.

The two got out with Wildmutt.

"You sure this will work?" Gwen questioned as Wildmutt barked, lowering herself for Max and Gwen to climb on. "Just go-HAAA!!"

Wildmutt races down the street.

----

Nova flies over the plains. The half-moon shower on them.

'You're persistent, are you?' A whisper filled Nova's head.

He continued following, The Frost Phantom until it did a U-turn, tackling Nova from the sky. They crash into snow rolling down the steep hill of trees: extinguishing his flames.

He reaches the bottom, patting the snow aside.

"Ugh!"Nova's head catches fire.

Nova stood up, eyeing the open plain of snow.

He stood silent before the Frost Phantom appeared using a breath of frost.

Nova shoots a stream of flames: The two clash causing the two visible struggle.

"Ack!" Nova grunts while his feet grind back. Smoke rises.

The Frost Phantom spun from the Streams, flappings its wings toward Nova.

Nova rolled from it before The Frost Phantom tackled him.

They flew across the plains before Frost Phantom drove him through a tree.

Nova heats up, causing the Frost Phantom to shriek. It lets go causing the two to roll down the hill.

As they rolled, the Frost Phantom drives, its fingers against the snow: Aligning itself below Nova before releasing another frost breath.

During: the mid-roll, Nova pushes himself off the snow, firing a beam at the cold stream. Falling toward his opponent Nova wins the clash before clocking it on the jaw.

They reach the bottom, near a frozen lake.

Nova and The Frost Phantom stood to their feet quickly. They sprint toward each other. Nova throws a hook, yet the Frost Phantom vanishes.

Nova's forearm becomes coated with ice.

"What is this?!" The ice cracks before freeing his arm. "Some joke?!" Nova gazes around before snapping to Frost Phantom rushing him.

Nova side-steps from its kick, The Frost Phantom: quickly opened its blue wings distracting Nova. It turns, slashing him with daggers of ice.

Nova nearly dodges its attempt to cut his chest. The Phantom rushes, Nova not giving him time to react. The Phantom drives the draggers toward his neck, but Nova stops it.

"Uhm! Raaagh!" Nova grunts while magma rolls from his chest, steaming the ground below them.

Nova and The Phantom grunted during the power struggle. Nova's eyes wander to an avalanche coming from the way they came.

"Are-are you another alien?!" Nova grunt.

"The only alien is you!" The phantom hiss.

Nova slowly begins losing his strength until bursting into flames; Frost Phantom flies back with a shriek.

Nova blasted into the air.

The Frost Phantom goes to follow but notices rumbling until it's too late. The avalanche buried him while Nova collected his breath.

While hovering in mid-air, a light shines into Nova's eyes.

He noticed something: on the tip of a mountain, blinding him from his light. He flies over to check it out, but something tackles him from behind and through a cave.

"AAAAH!!" The Phantom roared, flying through the cave with Nova.

They fazed threw an ice wall, flying through a dark cave until releasing Nova.

Nova crashed, rolling into the crystallized throne room, sliding to a stop.

Nova groans as he tries to get up, but the Phantom, appeared restraining Nova against the floor.

Phantom smirks with its teeth white as snow.

"UGH! AGH!!" Nova begins struggling.

'That's enough.' A calm voice echoes both Nova and Phantom's heads.

The Frost Phantom got on a knee.

The clicking of skin hitting the smooth, clean floor grew near the two.

"What?" Nova grunts.

A figure similar to the Phantom stopped above him.

Due to her height, she's similar to a child.

"I knew theirs something different about you. I'm Queen Hydra, Queen of the Necrofiggian."

Nova huffed, still trying to collect his breath.

"A power like yourself will be of use." She states calmly.

"What if I disagree?" Nova questioned.

"Would you like to wait until millions of my people wake from hibernation to take this town? This mountain doesn't have enough room, and the people below wouldn't mind letting us take their food and shelter." Nova thinks for a bit until looking back up at her.

"You don't pull your punches."

"Do we have a deal?" She raised a non-existing brow while he answered.

"...Fine."
