Hannah's Awakening

As the echoes of Clare's transformation faded, Belial turned his attention to the next girl in line, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. Hannah stood before him, her expression a mixture of apprehension and determination as she awaited her turn. When Clare screamed in pain Hannah could feel it too, but seeing the result and the strength Clare displayed she know she was ready.

"Your turn has come, Hannah," Belial said, his voice smooth as silk but tinged with a hint of darkness. "Tell me, what skills do you possess?"

Hannah felt the chill run through her body as he looked at her. It was the same chill that she had come to feel whenever he was close to her. Having him floating as if he were but shadows staring directly at her was enough to make any of them wish for escape.

Hannah was the youngest of the group, she was only 18, she had been quite apprehensive going into this. She had been unsure about the whole idea of trying to summon a demon. She had come to Clare's house for a sleepover, that is what she had truly expected. Four girls sitting around talking about boys and about their plans for the future. Perhaps they would watch a scary movie before putting on their pajamas and crawling into bed. As she thought about all of that she realized none of those thoughts mattered any more, they had made their decision and there was no turning back the clock.

Hannah took a deep breath, her mind racing as she again considered how she was going answer his question. "I've always been good with my hands," she began, her voice steady despite the nervous flutter in her chest. "I'm quick and agile, and I have a knack for solving puzzles and maybe picking locks. Is there are role for someone like that?"

Belial's eyes gleamed with interest as he circled around Hannah, studying her with a keen gaze. "Ah, a thief's skills," he mused, his lips curling into a wicked smile. "A valuable asset indeed. Let us see what potential lies within you."

With a wave of his hand, Belial summoned dark energy to surround Hannah, enveloping her in a swirling vortex of black mist as it had done with Clare. The other girls watched in awe as Hannah's form shimmered and shifted, her features illuminated by an otherworldly glow. Again, the pain overwhelmed her, screams of pain and fear releasing from her body. Fortunately it only lasted a short time. Rachel and Ellie looking at each other knowing what they still faced.

As the darkness receded, Hannah stood before them transformed, her movements fluid and graceful, her reflexes honed to a razor's edge. She felt a surge of power coursing through her veins, filling her with a sense of exhilaration unlike anything she had ever known. Her senses seemed to be heightened, her hearing sharper, her eyesight better.

Belial smiled in satisfaction at the transformation, his eyes gleaming with approval. "You have chosen wisely, Hannah. With your newfound abilities, you will be a valuable asset to our cause."

Hannah looked down at her hands, she could feel how sensitive they had become, she could feel the nimbleness in her fingers and could feel it flowing through her body.

But he wasn't finished yet. With another wave of his hand, Belial conjured a set of lockpicks, their silver surface gleaming in the dim light of the attic. And in his other hand a long cloak.

"These will be your tools," Belial explained, handing the lockpicks to Hannah with a graceful flourish. "With them, you will be able to navigate even the most treacherous of obstacles with ease."

Hannah accepted the lockpicks with trembling hands, her heart pounding with excitement at the possibilities that lay ahead. Smiling, Hannah took the tools and examined them, "Thank you," she whispered. Looking at the black cloak she draped it around her. The others watched in amazement as it seems to shimmer and fade into the shadows of the attic. It was as if the cloak itself was trying to hide from their prying eyes.

With Belial's guidance, she had unlocked the full potential of her thieving abilities, and she was eager to put them to the test.

Clare was the first to step forward, a smile playing on her lips. "Hannah, with your agility and skill, you'll be able to navigate through any traps or obstacles that Belial puts before us. Your talents will keep us one step ahead of our enemies."

Ellie nodded in agreement, her eyes alight with admiration. "And with your knack for solving puzzles, you'll help us unravel the mysteries that lie ahead. Your cleverness will be our key to unlocking the secrets of Belial's realm and any realm he choses to bring us to."

Rachel chimed in, her voice filled with determination. "Your ability to pick locks will allow us to access places that would otherwise be off-limits. Your skills will open doors for us, both figuratively and literally, as we strive to uncover the truth." I am proud of what you have become.

With the praise of her three friends Hannah's face grow into a big smile. She had been unsure if she had anything to offer and now she was confident that she belonged by their side in the new adventure.

With renewed determination, Hannah took a deep breath, her fingers tightening around the lockpicks in her hands. She knew that she carried a heavy burden, but with the support of her friends by her side, she felt confident that she could rise to the challenge and face whatever trials lay ahead. Both she and Clare were ready.

And as they prepared to embark on their journey with Belial, Hannah knew that the bond of the four girls would be their greatest strength, guiding them through the darkness and leading them to victory against whatever forces sought to destroy them. With determination burning bright in her heart, she stood ready to face whatever destiny had in store, knowing that with her friends by her side, she could overcome any obstacle that stood in her way.
