Chapter 249 The Son of Fire Part 29

After the four Tanzanies, Bong, Lixin and Fufu, walked through the side door, seven librarians led them into an underground tunnel. As they got closer to the center of the tunnel, the cheers and voices outside grew louder.

Michio asked, "Did you hear it? The sound is getting louder and louder."

Yul said, "We're under the coliseum."

Abrafo asked, "How do you know?"

Yul said, "I stayed and watched the fight. It makes sense now to see this structure here. Yesterday, I was still thinking about how the competitors rose from the ground into the arena."

A librarian said, "Please only sit in the cubicle designated by your number. Do not sit in the cubicle designated by others, otherwise your team will be immediately disqualified." He turned to look at the fifty teams walking behind him. "I want to say firmly to you that within the Eternal Library you must abide by strict rules at all times, without exception. While you're waiting for your turn, be sure to take the time to read the rules, if you find you can't follow any of the rules you can leave at any time during the competition." He stopped and turned to look at the competitors. "Let me remind you, killing is prohibited in the preliminaries." He smiled calmly at the men and women. "Now please take your seat inside your number cubicle."

The four Tanzanies, Bong, Lixin and Fufu started walking around looking for their numbered cubicles and they found Wadi and Anu sitting in cubicle number fifty-five. Michio grabbed Fufu's arm and pushed Fufu forward.

"I'm not going to fight them here," Fufu said, taking Michio's hand away from her arm. "I would rather meet them in the arena and beat them for the world to see."

Lixin looked at Fufu and said, "Women with courage like you are rare. In my travels over the years, I have only met two. One is you, and the other refuses to serve me."

Fufu said, "No wonder she refused."

Lixin asked, "Do you know the reason?"

Fufu said, "Because women who possessed such bravery will not serve anyone but her king."

Lixin smiled and walked away when saw a cubicle without a number. He thinks it must be for them since their fight was supposed to have happened yesterday. He walked in and sat down, and the others followed him into the cubicle.

The four Tanzanies and their friends sat in their designated cubicle and spent their time reading all the rules that all visitors must follow during their stay in Eternal Library.

"So, we can't go out of the library, and family visits are limited to half an hour on the fifteenth day of every month," Abrafo frowned. "What stupid rules."

Michio said, "And this rule." He pointed to the seventy-third rule. "There's no outside food allow. It's a nightmare, what if they only serve vegetables and rice? Where am I going to get my protein."

Fufu looked at Michio and chuckles. "I have never heard a monk say such a thing. Are you sure you a real monk?"

U-ri patted Michio on the shoulder and said, "Endurance will bring great achievements." He also laughed. 

Lixin walked up to Yul who was standing alone in the corner. He asked, "It seems you don't care about these rules?"

Yul said, "If I follow the rules, why should I worry? The rules are there for a reason."

Lixin asked, "Where is the fourth key to no-man's land?"

Yul said, "Kinigan Island."

Lixin turned to looked at Yul and asked, "Where exactly in Kinigan Island?"

Yul said, "I don't know." 

"If you don't know where the place is, then why do you and your people always leave with the keys?" Lixin continued to ask unconvinced. "We have agreed that all information about the fourth key will be shared." He looked at Yul with a cold expression on his face. "Why do I feel like you withholding information from me?"

Yul took out the map from his robe and slowly unfolded it in front of Lixin. As soon as the map was unfolded, the map of Kinigan Island appeared.​

"You see, every time we get a key, a map of the next key appears, but the information only leads us to that place, not the exact location of the key," Yul said.

Lixin quickly took the map from Yul, but as soon as Lixin held the map, all the information on the map disappeared.​

"What happened?" Lixin said in shock. He quickly turned over the old map, but it was blank with nothing on it.​

Yul took the map from Lixin. As soon as Yul touched it, all the contents appeared again. "I just recently discovered that Meng gave me this map on purpose," Yul said. "Prince Bong may have already talked to you about Meng, right?"

Lixin said, "Yes." Lixin signed. "I should have killed him when we were in Stone Valley."

Yul folded up the map and stuffed it back into his robe. "You can't kill him," Yul said.

Lixin turned to look at Yul with an ugly smile on his face. "Are you doubting my ability to kill him?" He asked.

Yul said, "No, but he is not working alone. I believe there is a very powerful person supporting him. I believe that if he is really in trouble, that person will come to the rescue." He turned to look at Lixin. "By the way, he has the ability to disguise himself as anyone or anything, so catching him in Stone Valley was impossible because there were too many people in Stone Valley at the time."

Abrafo walked up to Yul and Lixin. "What are you talking about?"

Yul said, "I was showing him the old map."

Abrafo scoffed and said, "The trapped map, now that I think about it, I feel like that map was a trap. Wherever that map took us, we always end up facing life-threatening danger. Idiot Meng does have dirty tricks up his sleeve."

Lixin looked at Abrafo and asked, "So, how many places has this map taken you to?"

Abrafo suddenly realized that Lixin wanted to take this opportunity to get information from him, so he simply said, "Many dangerous places."

"For example?" Lixin continued to ask.

"Like Magior City," said Abrafo. "You were there and saw the danger with your own eyes. We almost died in Magior City."

"Stop talking nonsense," Bong said. "Team thirty challenged us."

"We haven't been sitting here for long, why did we suddenly reach team thirty?" Abrafo asked.

Bong said, "This is because some players left after reading the rules."

Yul thought it was impossible. The rules they had read were not difficult, but who was he to understand other people's thoughts? So, he turned around and looked around and found that there were many empty cubicles. The only remaining teams are their team, Anu teams and team number thirty who just challenged them. Now he understands that many of those teams did not come here to enter the Eternal Library, but only came here because of Anu's order.

 "Once we get there, remember the plan to keep U-ri safe," Yul said.

The four Tanzanies, Lixin, Bong, and Fufu, walked into the golden platform. As soon as the bell rang, the platform rose towards the opening.​

Abrafo looked at Bong and asked, "Nervous?"

Bong leaned closer to Abrafo and whispered in Abrafo's left ear, "Jerk."

Abrafo smiled and whispered into Bongs right ear, " I love it, especially when I'm thrusting and jerking you at the same time." He raised his eyes up and met Bong's death stare, so he quickly changed his attitude and looked at everyone seriously. "Hey, everyone, concentrate, we are going to the battlefield. Losing concentration means losing the battle."

As soon as the four Tanzanies and their friends stepped onto the arena the platform locked beneath their feet. Standing in the center of the stage was Ru, the head librarian. Opposite the four Tanzanies and their friends was a team of four men and three women.

Ru said turning to look at the four Tanzanies and their friends, "Has everyone read the rules?"

Lixin said, "Yes."

Ru said, "Remember, you can't kill anyone in the first battle, otherwise the consequences will be fatal." He looked at the two teams with a smile. "Once you step out of the sideline, you are automatic disqualify, but your team members can continue. There are three ways to win this preliminary round. The first way is removing all seven team members from the chessboard. The second way is to reduce the number of injuries on the team, and once the one-hour mark time has passed, the team with fewer injuries wins. The third and final way is the remaining team members of your opponent voluntarily surrender." He smiles at the four Tanzanies and their friends. "I'd love to see if you can beat the next thirty-two teams." He walked to his seat outside the chessboard.

Abrafo turned to Yul and asked, "What does he mean?"

Yul said, "We will fight until victory or defeat."

Abrafo nervously wiped the sweat from his forehead and muttered, "Fuck..."

The ring of a kyoketsu shoge flew straight towards Lixin. Lixin caught the kyoketsu shoge with his left hand, quickly wrapped the chain around his left hand, then quickly retreated, pulling his opponent towards him at high speed.

Fufu rushed forward and swung her shield to the opponent's left side, causing the opponent to stagger and move to the opponent's right side. Lixin quickly let go of the kyoketsu shoge ring.

The four Tanzanies and Bong, who was less than twenty feet away from Lixin and Fufu, looked at each other and then at their opponents.

"Shit, they're already fighting," Abrafo said as he pulled out a dart strapped to the side of his thigh and fired it directly at his staggering opponent. He suddenly realized that killing during preliminary selection was strictly prohibited. "Watch Out!" 

The male opponent turns his body to one side. Abrafo's dart flew past him, and the tip of the dart cut the opponent's forehead. The opponent turned his head and looked at Abrafo angrily. A trail of blood flowed from the opponent's forehead to the side of his face.
