Chapter Seven ..Jakes Riddles ?

"Sir ,Miss Jenkins is here !"The receptionist said to the head of the panel of judges who sat behind the table .

"Miss Jenkins ,have a seat .I'm Inno Heavens and we've long awaited for your arrival !

We loved your designs and we have decided to take it on on our brand , however ,the final decision wouldn't be made by us but by our board of directors and the president of the cooperation .

Please relax and after thirty minutes ,you would be called into the board room where you will make your final presentation on your designs ." Inno Heavens said and left the office with his colleagues .

"Oh grandfather ,please help me through this .If I get this job ,I will be able to fulfill the promise I made to you and that's the promise to fulfill my dreams ."Eloise seemed quite nervous when she was called into the board room after thirty minutes .

There were ten board members in the room with five of them each , sitting on the opposite sides however ,there was one seat that was empty ."Miss Jenkins ,our design team loved your designs and they have predicted that you can be a designer for this company .Cooperatives of Jewelry Designs is one of the best design companies in Los Angeles County and beyond and that's why you should dim it a privilege standing right in front of us ."One of the board members introduced .."Alright sir ,I will do my best and after this presentation ,I will also accept whatever decision you have to make ." Eloise said firmly before the lights went out and the projector was put on ."Hmm! ,you can do this Eloise ..!" She encouraged herself .

Before she could speak ,the door to the board room was banged and a young suave , built-up man who wore an ash chinos with a sweater and jeans with a pair of loafers suede shoes entered the room.

His curly pushed back long hair appeared to be moist with jelly and it glittered once he drew closer .He looked like an ancient god appearing from dim light .

Eloise's heart began to beat faster as though she had met someone closer to her heart .

"Oh my God , what's this feeling ? Why am I feeling as if Jakes is here ?

No Eloise ,concentrate and focus on your presentation ..!" Eloise convinced herself but she was still nervous .

"Who starts a presentation without the president of the cooperation ,huh ?

I see ,you all want to make the orders around here ,is it ?

Anyways , that's a story of the past .Before this presentation starts ,I want to see the face of the designer that Inno Heavens boasted about ." He snapped his fingers and the lights were put on however ,Eloise had her face facing the projection of the screen right in front of her ."Alright ,light out ! Her face will be useful once the presentation is done !"Eloise began her presentation after that ."I call these designs the Shell Designs because the idea was made from shells .

These three designs you see here are my perfect set of three and this means ,I have these designs in hand that I can show to you ."Eloise then projected her shell designs that she had actually made with shells on the screen .

"The first design has the shape of a shell and I call it 'from grass to grace '.

The second design has the shape of an anchor and I call it 'the hardest core of life ' and the last design you all see has the shape of two disjointed hearts and I call it 'the fate trials ' .

All these designs are designs I spent days and nights making out of shells .

Ladies and gentlemen ,this is what I call the Shell Designs by Eloise Jenkins . " As soon as the name Eloise Jenkins was mentioned ,the president of the cooperation who had his legs on the table crossed ,dropped his glass of whiskey on the floor . The lights were suddenly switched on and Jakes couldn't believe his eyes .The one who stood right in front of him was Eloise Jenkins ,his long time childhood friend whom he promised to come back for and marry ."Jakes Riddles ? " Eloise muttered to herself in shock .Even though he met him twelve years ago ,he had still not changed .

Eloise could still sense that it was Jakes Riddles .

"E...Eloise ? " Jakes also muttered to himself as the cleaner cleared the shredded pieces of glass from the floor ."Why Shell Designs by Eloise Jenkins ? " One of the board members asked and this broke both their million thoughts ."You can still do this Eloise , whether this company is for him or not ,you have to behave like you've never met him before ; not even in your dreams !" Eloise hid her bitter feelings and swallowed her anger towards Jakes who sat in a destructive mood .To prove to Jakes and to her herself that he meant nothing to her anymore ,she looked straight into Jakes eyes while speaking .

"Shell Designs by Eloise Jenkins is only the name of my three prestigious designs .

Just like some people ,shells on the coast of beaches means absolutely nothing to them .

Basically ,they are useless in their eyes but what people don't know is that shells become useful once put into use by incorporating them into different designs to boost its sense of fashion .

Just like a little girl whom I know ,she was picked up from the coast and raised by an unknown man she considered her grandfather .

Gradually ,she began to grow and she began running errands for her grandfather .

She also started cleaning and keeping the entire house neat and so whenever her grandfather comes back from work ,he gives her a present .

Something useless was made useful just like these shells which I picked up and made music out of it and also jewelry designs !

This is why these collections are called the Shell Designs by Eloise Jenkins ,Sir !

They ain't just useless shells but they're my life !

My emotions are strongly attached to these designs because that's what I represent!

Thank you !"Eloise said firmly and still held onto her anger and rage that burnt inside of her .

"Superb designs Miss Jenkins ,tell us something more about the names of your designs !" Another board member put forward
