Chapter Eighteen ..Save me !
"Even if I want to reject his offer ,I can't , because he's right . I need an extra shirt to appear in front of the board members .
This is nothing personal but professional Eloise , don't get carried away by your emotions !
Okay Sir ,I accept your offer !" As soon as Eloise accepted his offer ,he quickly called Renata into the office . "Chairman Riddles ,you called for me .Is there a problem ? "She asked , concerned ."Renata ,please get a new shirt for Miss Jenkins .As you can see ,her shirt is soiled with black coffee ."
"A shirt ? Sir ,if it's about a shirt ,I can get her one from my car .I have two extra shirts in my car .That is ,if she's comfortable with it ."Renata said and Eloise didn't hesitate to nod her head ."Alright then ,I will get it right away ..". After a few minutes , Renata came back with a new yellow shirt for Eloise .With a wink from Jakes ,she left the office quickly .
"The shirt is now here ,now where will I change my attire ? "Eloise asked herself . "You can change in my lounge ,take the turn on your right and lock the door behind you so that you feel comfortable ."Jakes provided her with an alternative , like he could read her thoughts. Eloise had no other way out but to take in Jakes' alternative and change in his lounge .
"Why is this room so dark ? "Eloise put on the light and everything in the room seemed like a deja Vu in her head .The room was covered up with only the pictures of she and Jakes' childhood memories .
" No ,no !
Why do you keep on taunting me Jakes ?
Why ?! " Eloise screamed at herself before she heard ..."I never forgot about you Eloise .I know I have made mistakes however I want you to know that no matter the piles of my mistake ,you are the only one who has given me the strength to move on .
Eloise ,I know you are trying so hard to hate me but before you do that I want you to know that I love you Eloise .I love you and this love is greater than any other thing in this world .
I'm a jerk ,a fool and a swine for letting a great woman like you go but Eloise please , don't hate me .
I don't know what you might hear in the future but Eloise ,I don't care about the extent I will have to go to so that I gain your forgiveness but I will go through heaven and hell to gain your forgiveness and your trust again , Eloise !
I know as you're listening to this ,you feel hurt and broken but trust me Eloise ,I'm shattered in shame even as I'm recording this to you .
I don't know how you might take it but I have to tell you the truth now about Meredith and I but Eloise ,I want you to remember that I still love you and it's only you I will forever love .
I know I'm a coward for not standing right in front of you and telling you this to your face .
The truth is I can't look at you in the face and in your beautiful innocent eyes to see your tears .
The same tears I promised you that I will always wipe away and replace it with happiness. Eloise ,I'm sorry !

Meredith was my high school mate I met again in college .
I believe you heard about my father's sudden death in college since it was all over the news and it travelled wide to almost all the states of America and beyond .
His sudden death three years ago got me all broken up and that was when Meredith came into my life again.
She became my closest pal and we began to develop strong feelings for each other over time .
For this reason ,we decided to run away from this world and create our own paradise in Australia .For all those three years ,I decided to leave my past behind and start a new life with Meredith .

I know I didn't even say goodbye or even try to explain the whole situation to you and for that I know that I failed you .
For all those three years ,I was with Meredith but then I returned to Los Angeles County not so long ago to take over dad's company as the new president of Riddles Cooperation . Eloise ,before you hear from anyone else or probably the media , I want to tell you that something happened between Meredith and I .
We got intimate with each other and I proposed marriage to her with an engagement ring .
I don't know how you are taking this now but I 'm sorry for hurting you in this manner .
When I arrived from Australia , I realized that I had made a mistake .
Whatever I thought I felt for Meredith was not real ; it was pain filled because I was so lonely and confused at that time .
The irony was that I thought maybe you might have forgotten about me after three years of hearing nothing from me but as for me ,I began to picture you in everything I did .
In my dreams and daily activities ,I could only picture you in them and that was when I got to know that what I felt for Meredith was lust and not love .

If you accept me again then I will fulfill all my promises to you . Meredith is returning from Australia today and mum has arranged to announce our engagement to everyone .

As soon as Jakes' video recording ended ,Eloise broke down into tears . "Argh !!! "She pushed all the pictures on the walls down and they broke into million pieces right in front of her . I'm a fool for wearing a simple bracelet that you handed to me and trusted you that you'd come back for me and marry me while you fixed an engagement ring on the ring finger of another lady !
