19 - Long Day

Noah flew back to the capital. Once he made it there he went straight to the castle. He went straight to Julius' office.

"You're back" - Julius

"Yes. I wanted to report back to you in person" - Noah

"I already spoke with the king. He explained what was happening. He said as long as we don't disturb the peace of the kingdom, or endanger the kingdom, then he will back it" -Julius

"So now all we have to do is pick the other nobles who will take over the responsibilities" - Noah though out loud

"Correct. I got in touch with the Vermillion house and Nozel. Each of the two royal families will nominate one of their follower noble families" - Julius

Noah and Julius spoke for some more time. Julius had planned how everything will go. He was even making some predictions to how the debate in the parliament will go.

After using memory magic on Agatha, Julius made a report with all of the findings. By the time they were done with the memory reading, the Vermillion house had gotten back to Julius with the family they would want to nominate. Nozel on the other hand has yet to respond.

Julius decided to send Noah to meet Nozel to see if he can make him decide faster. Noah left the headquarters and went towards the royal palace. He would've flew right into the palace, but he didn't want to alarm the guards and have them fire magic at him. Noah flew till he got close enough to the palace, he then landed and went the rest of the way on foot. On his way there, he was stopped by the guards, but the second they saw who it was they moved aside.

Noah walked through the magic barrier. He went to the side of the Silva household. Noah saw many members of the Silva house walking about. But he didn't bother with any of them, though they all greeted him respectfully. He was the younger brother of the head of the house, besides he had been a magic knight for a short amount of time, and he already caused the house to gain massive amounts of gold because of his contributions.

'In any world, those who are rich like to get richer...hold on a second I'm one of them!' - Noah knew why they were respecting them this much As Noah was walking he came to a corridor with a big portrait hung on the wall. Noah slowed down. The portrait showed a more mature and elegant version of Noelle.

"Hello mom" Noah said as he looked at the portrait. He had a sad look on his face. He kept standing in front of the portrait for 20 minutes. Memories of her came back to him. All the warmth that he felt from her, the unconditional love she had, the beauty and elegance she carried around her.

"How long do you plan to stand there for?" - Nozel's voice came from behind Noah.

Noah didn't turn around, he kept his eyes on his mother's portrait "She was such a great woman, a great magic knight, and a great mother. She stood at the pinnacle, of power and beauty, unequaled. But sadly all humans are equal in death"

Nozel frowned for a moment as memories of his mother came back to him, with it the sadness of losing her. "Why are you here Noah?" - Nozel decided to get to the point

"What? Can't I come back to my own palace?" - Noah

"You can, but I know you're here for a reason" - Nozel

"I need you to nominate one of the nobles families under us like the wizard king had requested" - Noah finally took his eyes off of the portrait and turned around to face Nozel

"This is not a simple matter. I can't give this to a high noble family, they would have too much power, and I need to think about which lower or middle class noble family can handle this responsibility" - Nozel

"How long do you need?" - Noah

"When I got the wizard king's message I was busy with other things, so I didn't get to think about it yet. But I already have meetings scheduled with a few families that I had in mind. I'll decide after I meet them. So three hours at the most" - Nozel

After his chat with Nozel, Noah walked towards his room. He decided to spend some time there.

Three hours later, Nozel had sent a maid to get Noah.

"Here is my decision, I picked the house of Newgard as the nominee from our side" - Nozel handed Noah a letter.

Noah took the letter and left the palace. He made his way towards the headquarters. Once he got there, he went straight to the wizard king office.

"You made it back pretty quick. I thought I won't see you till tomorrow" - Julius commented.

"That's what happens when a royal works a mail delivery" - Noah said in a joking tone

"hahah sorry I had you do that" -Julius laughed.

After getting all the paper work in order, the mage headquarters had formally sent the reports to Damnatio Kira; the chairman of the parliament. They also included the consent of the king and the nominees of the Silva house and the Vermillion house.

Some time later, Julius got a response saying that this will be discussed in a meeting the next day, "Well, looks like my job is done here" - Noah said as he was ready to leave and go back to the black bulls base.

"Before you go Noah, there is something I want you to do" - Julius said as he was looking over some documents that just came in

Noah stopped and looked at the wizard king, waiting for his request.

"There is a report that one of the kingdom's territory is getting attacked by diamond mages" - Julius said with a serious look on his face

Noah looked at Julius as the aloof look on his face had been replaced with a serious look.

"It's a mountain located near the boarder of our kingdom. Actually the mountain is a private mining site owned by the Silva house. I will be sending the silver eagles as well as yourself" - Julius

"Yes sir!" - Noah saluted as he took off towards the location of the mining site.

'It could either be a mere coincidence, or one of the nobles want to distract us. I'll know more once I get there' - Noah thought as he stood atop a jet black eagle.

As Noah closed in on the location, he saw a few diamond mages attacking workers. Noah controlled the black eagle to dive towards the incoming diamond mages.

As Noah was closing in on the diamond mages he started firing ferrofluid slashed and jet black beams. Noah knocked out the few mages near by.

Suddenly earth spikes shot towards Noah. Noah raised his left hand as black spike countered the earth spikes.

Noah sent ferrofluid tentacles at the workers and got them out of harms way. He stretched the tentacles farther behind him.

"Thank you" - Some workers started thanking him. Noah had put them behind him, far from the battle. The workers started running away, they wanted to make sure they are out of the way.

Noah stood between the diamond mages and the mine workers. Noah looked over to the side, and evaluated the mountain. The mountain was a relatively small mountain. There were multiple points of entry and exits around the mountain.

Spreading his mana senses, Noah can tell that there are some workers inside the mountain still. Noah made a mental note to make sure the mountain doesn't get hit, or that would risk the lives of the workers still inside.

After checking his surroundings, Noah turned to look at the diamond mages coming towards him. The one in front was a fat man, with curly brown hair, and a brown diamond embedded into his right eye socket.

The fat man, who was the one in charge of this attack, sent a wave of spiraling earth spikes. Noah was about to block the attack before a water whip flashed by destroying the earth spikes.

Looking up Noah saw a sliver eagle with three people standing on it, two men and one woman. All three had the silver eagles robes on.

The three of them landed beside Noah.

"I see you were faster than us Noah" - Nozel said, but not as a complement, more like a reprimand to his other two siblings.

"I've had a long day, and I just finished a mission before this. Step back I want to finish this quickly" - Noah said as he took a step forward. His chest expanded as he took in a deep breath

Before any of the three siblings can say anything back,

{Death dragon roar}

*RRROOOAAARRR*

A loud dragon roar sounded as a massive stream of purple flames shot out of Noah's mouth

A massive 100 feet wide and thousand feet long fissure formed as the fire melted the earth, and went straight towards the diamond mages.

Some fast ones, and some that were farther away were able to dodge the attack. Though they weren't many.

Noah turned around to his siblings, "There are about 30 more workers still inside so be careful. I'll leave the few stragglers to you" - Noah said as he formed a jet black eagle and flew away.

Noah was going to head towards the black bulls base, but he decided to do one more thing before going back.

Noah flew towards the crimson lion kings base. Noah got there and requested to see Leopold.

The mages took Noah towards a room on the top floor of the base. Getting inside the room, he saw Fuegoleon sleeping on a bed. Next to the bed Leopold was standing while looking at his brother. On the other side of the bed there was a woman sitting on a chair with a pissed off look on her face.

"Mereoleona. Leopold" - Noah greeted as he entered the room

"Noah? What are you doing here?" - Leopold

"I came to check on Fuegoleon" - Noah

"Thank you for your concern. But elder brother is strong and he will make a speedy recovery in no time" - Leopold said with a hint of admiration.

"Strong? Please, that fool wouldn't be in this state if he was strong" - Mereoleona cut in as she scoffed at Leopold's words.

"Please don't say that about elder brother" - Leopold argued back

Noah walked closer to Fuegoleon as he ignored the two siblings bickering.

'I don't remember what was the reason Fuegoleon was out for so long. I'm not even sure if it was ever mentioned it in the show' - Noah thought as he touched Fuegoleon's head scanning his body.

'A seal on his psyche? Is that why he can't wake up even after medical treatment? So the fire spirit salamander was the reason he was able to break through the seal. Should I wake him up...but then would salamander come to him? I'll leave him for now, if salamander doesn't come for him, I'll wake him up myself'

"I hope he makes a speedy recovery" - Noah said as he stepped back.

Mereoleona just looked at Noah while Leopold thanked him. Afterwards Noah made his way back to the black bulls base.
