CH. 1 ~ A New Life?
Luo Wei Fei sat up straight on her bed as she glanced at her surroundings. A luxurious bed, a table with fruits and tea. Bookshelves, and a piece of clothing waiting to be sewn. Wei Fei got off the bed and hurriedly went to grab a mirror to see for herself if she had come back.
She grabbed the mirror handset on the table and quickly examined her face. Wei Fei delicately touched her face as she looked into the mirror. She couldn't believe that it was really herself. White smooth jade skin, big round eyes, red pouty lips, neutral-shaped eyebrows, and smooth black long hair down to her waist.
She had died. She had definitely died, so why, had she come back into the past? There was no way that she had come back alive like in those few books she remembered reading when she was a little girl. They talked about rebirth, where one had already died; but, came back alive and into the past. Wei Fei couldn't believe that she can relive her life again. She had died a terrible and unjustified death.
Wei Fei cried as she held herself close, she had truly come back. She can live a different life, a life that wouldn't end so miserably; she hopes. Wei Fei wiped her tears as they streamed down her face. She slowly lifted her face and glanced around the room to see if there were any maids nearby.
She wondered what year it was, how long into the past did she come to? When she was a young girl? Her thoughts trailed off as she looked around the room once more.
Suddenly, Wei Fei instantly jerked up, maid! Her personal maids! Where were they? Had they gone somewhere? If she were to see them, then she would definitely know what year she was in! She had to find them!
Quick!
Wei Fei forgot her slippers and hurriedly ran out her chamber. She called out for her four personal maids that had been with her since she was a small girl.
"Xi Xi! Ru Ru! Mi Mi! Ni Ni! Where are you? Are you there?"
Wei Fei had forgotten all about the propriety she had been taught as a young lady. All she wanted was to find her maids and her family. Once she found them, she'll definitely get all the answers that she wanted.
Before Luo Wei Fei could go out any further, someone answered her call.
"Second Miss, we're coming! Are you alright?"
Hearing so, Wei Fei instantly turned down the hallway that the voices came from. She ran as she lifted up her lotus colored brocade dress with dendrobium orchid flowers. Wei Fei couldn't wait to see their faces, she remembered how they died defending her and for following her.
Her family fell the moment she was framed of poisoning that woman's son. She had never felt so guilty for causing their deaths. She then grieved for their death inside the Cold Palace as she had been locked and abandoned by him. Wei Fei would never forget the guilt and sadness that built up inside of her as she died because of what happened to her maids and family members.
This time she would definitely save them from that kind of death. Wei Fei yearned to see her father, mother, brother, and sisters' face. She never got the chance to spend time with them all because she was too busy fighting inside the Palace for the harem.
{Mother, father, brother, sister! I miss you guys so much! Please forgive me!}
Wei Fei ran faster with those thoughts in mind down the hallway. As she got closer, she could faintly see the outline of some people rushing over. Those people were still at the end of the hallway and she was at the other end. Seeing them alive and running towards her she felt like she had lost all strength to stand and run.
Wei Fei suddenly collapsed as her legs gave out. She breathed hard and long as she saw two young men running faster than the others getting closer to her.
{Brother Zhang! Brother Chen!}
Wei Fei instantly breathed a sigh of relief as she saw her family still alive and well. As her brothers reached her, they crouched down and observed her face and body for any harm.
"Ah Fei, what's wrong? Did anyone harm you?"
Wei Fei's older brother Zhan Wei asked worriedly, as he inspected her face and body. While her second older brother, Chen Hui, circled her for any sort of wound or cut.
"No. Nothing is wrong. I just..I just…"
{I'm just glad that I really came back in time and can see your faces again.}
Luo Wei Fei didn't want to cry; but, she was so happy that they were alive, healthy, and still here with her. Now, she really can believe that she had travelled back in time.
"I just had a bad dream, that's all."
Wei Fei said as she smiled and wiped her tears.
"Are you sure? Come on, stand up. It isn't proper for a young lady to be on the ground. What if they say that you're clumsy?"
Chen Hui teased to make Wei Fei laugh as he held out his hands towards her, and she did.
"Brother Chen, your jokes are always so pointless."
Wei Fei said as she held his hand and stood up with a smile.
"Ah Fei, you should be more careful. Are you really fine?"
Zhan Wei nagged just as Wei Fei's personal maids, her older sister and her parents reached her.
"Ah Fei are you alright? How come you're on the floor?"
Wei Fei's older sister asked as she revealed a relieved smile.
"Older sister, I fell accidentally, that's all. I'm sorry for worrying you."
Wei Fei answered with a bright smile as she hugged her sister. Before she could fully relax, Wei Fei was instantly engulfed into a hug with her older sister, Yan Li. "Ah Fei! Ah Fei! Are you alright? Mother and father were very worried that you were hurt."
Wei Fei froze inside the embrace, hearing her mothers' voice. New tears threatened to stream out again, Wei Fei held it in and she rubbed her moist eyes. Her father stood at the side with a worried and comforted face. Wei Fei was really happy she came back, because now she can save her family and won't let them get hurt.
