Tension Over Jealous
Fara stepped into her office with a sigh, feeling the weight of the morning pressing on her. She barely had time to set her bag down before Ziggy appeared in the doorway, arms crossed, his expression a mix of annoyance and amusement.
"Well, well," he began, leaning casually against the doorframe. "Look who decided to grace us with her presence. Late again, Miss CEO. Where were you this time? Saving the world or visiting Clint?"
Fara closed her eyes briefly, willing herself to remain calm. "Good morning to you too, Ziggy. I was at the hospital. Clint had an accident."
Ziggy straightened, his eyes narrowing. "Oh, of course. Clint. How noble of you to drop everything for him. Did he ask you to hold his hand while they applied a Band-Aid?"
Fara's patience was wearing thin, but she forced a polite smile. "He's a client and a friend. I make time for people I care about. Is there something you needed, or are you just here to critique my schedule?"
