Kareena hates complicated

"We did find odd facts surrounding this attack, but one thing we're certain of is they wanted you alive", Kareena pointed out earning raised brows from him. Kareena looked at May, signaling her with a nod.

"They were not amateurs." May straighten her posture and assumed a position of carrying a rifle, mimicking the movements of the unmasked thugs whom she watched from the footage. "You could see it from their sturdy posture, where their hands and each finger lay; their aims may have seemed amateurish but it was done with precision. They knew where to shoot. At such a close range, they could have done a lot of damage, and an ordinary person would not have escaped. They wanted you alive."

"Things only got messy when we fought back", Claude concluded, seeming to recall the events. For someone who had been through such a stressful ordeal, he seemed to be taking it rather well. His brows rose, looking at May in new light. "You know a lot about guns."

"Hm. What I'm more interested in, is where in the hell did they get them? We only tested them weeks ago." There was obvious anger in her tone.

"And you know where to look?" Kareena asked.

May smirked, "Oh, I do. But this means bad news for you bestie."

"Why?"

"This just might get complicated", May looked over at her. "And you HATE complicated."

"Then we need to move fast", Kareena replied. "Flame, I need to know who stopped traffic on those four roads."

"I'm already working on it", came her reply, the sound of typing being heard from her end.

"And those apprehended, where are they?"

"Still with Homeland."

"What are they still doing there? Send a message to Miss Quinn, I need them in our custody as soon as right now. Check if Artisan can get anything out of them."

"On it!"

May moved to the window with her fingers working fast on her phone. Kareena had a concentrative face as she kept her gaze on the screen. There was nothing simple about it, the case, their new opponent; she could feel it.

She suddenly felt like someone was pushing her on the edge of the cliff, her feet inching forward with each push and her only being to do nothing but take what's to come.

At Homeland Security HQ..

Bam! Bam! Bam!

A hard fist slammed against a table. The sound of metal jingling was heard when a pair of cuffed hands were moved onto the table. A cam recorder and a mic sat atop the table recording the happenings.

"Hey buddy, you can't keep this up. Start talking or this will be the last pleasant moment you'll ever have in your life. There's a special place for people like you... Trust me, you don't want to be there for too long. So tell us who ordered you to kill Claude Walker or those sentence years just might be going up."

Scoff!

Bright white light sat at the ceiling reflecting upon the obnoxious face of a cuffed man who leaned back in his seat and relaxed. The act infuriated the two men across from him, one seated, and one half standing, supporting himself with a hand on the table.

He smirked, cocking his head to the side throwing a challenging gaze at the two. The latter raised his hand into a fist-

"Marshall!!" His colleague quickly held him in restrain. "You know we can't do that! Calm down. Go take a walk or something."

Marshall shrugged out of his hold and proceeded to do as told. He was about to take a step out when a mocking laugh was heard from behind him. "Yeah Marshall, go take a walk."

"You bastard!"

Bam!

A hard kick landed on the culprit's chest, sending him crashing to the floor.

"Ung..." The man groaned, suddenly feeling his heart beat quicken.

"Hey! Marshall! Calm down man! Come on!!" Hia colleague shoved him away from the culprit. "Do you want to be on this case?"

Marshall paced around the room breathing heavily through his nose as he glared at his victim.

"Uhh..." The man's groans started to grow weak earning the attention of the two. He had his hand clutching his chest in a tight grip.

"Now you're putting on a pity party? Get up!" Marshall bellowed.

"Uhh..."

"Hey Marsh.." he held his arm stopping him, his brows knitted in confusion. "How hard did you kick him? He looks...pale."

"It could be the lighting", Marshall answered, sounding like he was trying to convince himself too.

"No man." He took a careful step forward at the groaning man. "Hey, hey. Are you al-"

Boom!

The men instinctively closed their eyes. Warm liquid sputtered onto their faces and clothes. A long silent second later, Marshall moved his hand and carefully wiped his cheek to see what it was.

"Ah-hh", he gasped out a shaky breath staring at his now trembling hand. His blood covered trembling hand.
