[Energy points: 110/400]
It was now five minutes, since Atlanta and the lv2 zombie squared off. Both parties not landing much hits to one another.
'Energy blast! Energy blast!'
[Atlanta you have to focus, your anger is eating you up. If you don't calm down now am afraid you'll not make it!] Nexus shouted in her head trying to reach out to her, but she was clouded by her rage to even listen.
Atlanta didn't stop, constantly moving around sending out strikes after strikes to the lv2 zombie. Some encoated with her energy while some weren't. She was annoyed by how fast this zombie was moving, keeping up with her.
The lv1 zombies were really slow, that an average human who'd awakened could easily kill. But this lv2 zombie was on a whole different level, even though it was just a level difference as it moved really fast.
She'd restored some of her energy, by buying and consuming the energy pills from the system. Atlanta knew they just replenished her energy points and not her stamina, which was a bummer.
[Atlanta, you're running on low fuel here. it wouldn't be long before you passed out and then what? All what you've achieved all in vein?]
'Shut up.. I-i can keep going.' Atlanta retorded panting heavily. Beads of sweat were flooding down her head like rainfall, as her vision was hazy. Her legs were already wobbly, as she suffered the effect of over exhausting herself but she struggled to stand.
'Boom!' Seeing the slight delay the zombie closed in on the opportunity, sending out it's fist making Atlanta fly back crashing into a wall breaking it.
[-10 HP]
'Just a single punch and it took away 10 hp..' since she'd stopped killing zombies for a while now, her hp had also started depleting fast.
[Atlanta you have to get up, you have to fight!] Nexus shouted in Atlanta's head, but everything was just blurry for her. She was injured from the zombie punch, as she was now bleeding from the head. She could see the zombie approaching her with a mocking grin, and she knew it would be the end of her if this maniac caught her.
'I-i can't die now.' Gritting her teeth she struggled to her feet. Her legs were shaking, but her blood boiled more seeing the approaching flesh eater.
"Argh!" Atlanta weakly punched forward to which the zombie avoided, sending out a kick causing her body to be sent flying. Not stopping, the zombie followed up by punching her guts causing her to cough up fresh blood, before the undead slammed her downwards with both it's hands.
'Boom!!' A much louder bang sound went off, as derbies were sent flying in the air from Atlanta's crash. The zombie then kicked her chest hard, causing her to smash into a table.
"We can't just stand here, she's in trouble." Sole panicked. He was currently out of energy and he couldn't do much.
"Can't you fire some lightning, o-or you throw your axe or something instead of being useless!" Sole shouted, annoyed seeing the other's with ability just standing there staring on.
"Look I understand you want to help her. Hell! It's my mission to protect her, but our energies are drained and we can't fight anymore. We're fucking useless.." Mira dropped to her knees sobbing. She wished it was her instead of Atlanta, she would rather die than live with herself seeing Atlanta killed.
'Huh?' They heard footsteps from behind and they could see Zain running towards them, a strange blue glowing item in his hand.
"I have it, let's go." Zain hurriedly said. He could see the grim expression on their faces, and that's when he realized something. "Where's Atlanta?"
"I-i tried to stop her but she won't listen." Mira stuttered tears streaming down her eyes.
'Boom!!! Rumbleee!!!'
The loudest explosion occured, causing the building to tremble as it finally gave out unable to withstand the huge attacks it received.
'H-he's back.' Atlanta could see Zain had returned with the energy quill, and a smile formed on her face. 'I can buy them a chance to escape.' She softly muttered.
"Run! Get out of here.. M-my Faith's already sealed but I can still save you guys!"
"No.. we're not leaving you! Never!" Sole shouted dismissing that idea.
"Don't be stubborn. Look.. I couldn't save my parents but I can still save all of you!" Atlanta bitterly spoke, tears filled her eyes.
"Argh!" The zombie seeing this had a smile, and the next moment it opened it's mouth wide, sinking it's teeth into Atlanta's skin.
"No!!!!" Sole screamed, seeing his whole world crumble before his eyes. The other's were all shocked, staring with dead expressions as the zombie bit out more flesh from Atlanta's neck.
"Zain take them and go!" Atlanta yelled, activating energy blast and sending the zombie back. Her scream managed to have snapped Zain from his gaze, as he picked tippy up placing him on Jack's shoulder. He then knocked Mira out placing her over his shoulders.
"We have to go."
"N-no! W-we have to help her!" Sole shouted, seeing Atlanta all alone still squaring off against the level 2 zombie. He wanted to go help her, but there was a huge crater separating him from Atlanta and the zombie.
Zain then proceeded to knock sole out also, as Jack carried him with them walking to the exit. He then stopped, giving one final stare at Atlanta before he vanished away.
'I-i did it..' Atlanta softly smiled seeing them escape, her frown then turned to anger staring at the zombie.
"Now it's just me and you." The zombie reacted to this by letting out a creepy smile, displaying some pieces of Atlanta's flesh and blood in it's mouth. Running forward Atlanta exhausted all her energy points, activating the skill she never thought she'd use.
[Death strike activated!]
[Atlanta this is suicide!] Nexus screamed knowing what she planned to do.
'Am already dead remember?' She chuckled softly not wavering. She could feel all her remaining energy coursing through her body, as she directed it to her arm. Great crack of lightning surged around her, as she leaped up towards the lv2 zombie also approaching.
She could feel the flesh on her arms peeling, as the energy in her raged like a wild fire. Not caring about the consequences she slammed both her hands downwards, colliding with the zombie who had also kept up to her.
Time seemed to have stopped as the two attacks collided. After a few seconds a small ball with purple cracks of lightning formed, slowing getting bigger. Within 5 seconds, the ball had grown so large it covered the entire room and then it happened.
'Boom!!!' The biggest explosion ever seen occured as the huge lightning storm exploded, sending huge bolts of lightning everywhere. The zombie screamed in pain as it's body was being fried alive, Atlanta also suffered from the attack as the lightning bolts scarred her body.
'Bam!!!' Both parties were sent flying back, as the building was now falling to the side. Atlanta could barely breathe let alone move, she could faintly see the system notification pop up in her view indicating she'd killed the lv2 zombie. She could also hear Nexus voice in her head, but it was inaudible.
'I can finally see you guys again.' Atlanta faintly breathed, her vision slowing fading. Everything seemed to become very slow in her eyes, as she could hear her heart beating faintly.
'So this is what it feels like to die.. how.. cold.' She had been constantly putting herself towards death, but she never knew what it felt like to really die. Now she was for sure she was dying as her pulse was dropping, it felt like a cold wave was washing over her.
'What's that?' She subconsciously thought, hearing some thumping sounds which got louder by the second. At first she thought it was her heart fighting back but it wasn't, though the sound was really close approaching her.
'K-kaiser?' She thought she was imagining things, as she'd read people usually imagine crazy stuffs when they were dying. But feeling his arm grab her made her know this was reality.
"You can't die yet, I have to be the one to end you." Kaiser scoffed, lifting her in a princess carriage. He struggled to maintain balance, as the building still continued falling. He could see there was also another smaller two story building besides, and this one was definitely going to crash into it.
"Damn! is it been 30 seconds already? I can't believe I lost count." Atlanta could hear Kaiser mumbling to himself, as he stared outside at the huge opening. She wanted to speak to tell him not to bother, as there was no way out but she couldn't even move her lips.
"Argh! Dang it, I'll just have to jump." Kaiser frowned. not having any other option he ran forward, inserting strength to his legs as he jumped out from the falling building.
"T-they're not here yet." Atlanta didn't know who Kaiser was talking about, but she was a bit stunned seeing the latter suddenly jump out from the building.
'Idiot! we could've just died Peacefully.' Atlanta wanted to strangle Kaiser, for stealing her moment to a peaceful death.
'Oh well.. we're still gonna die anyways.'
They were now close to the ground, 6 meters away as they were still falling. Just as everything seemed bleak a flying vehicle appeared from nowhere, swooping in and catching Kaiser and Atlanta just before their bodies hit the ground.
