Chapter 42: A Man Can Be Killed But Not Humiliated

If they could defeat this last enemy, they would win the game.

Once Frank had located the enemy's position, he immediately picked up his weapon, aimed carefully, and prepared to deliver a fatal shot. Suddenly, he heard a gunshot, and his own avatar turned gray. What had just happened? Frank was confused and shocked. He realized that Z had quickly taken him out with a clean shot. After disposing of Frank, Z took out the last remaining enemy with ease, and the game was over.

Frank furrowed his brow, his mind filled with questions. He put his hand over his chest, feeling both sad and shocked. Why did this happen? He had thought that Z was interested in playing with him when she agreed to team up. Was it because he was not skilled enough? Or did Z have some sort of dislike for him? Frank couldn't find the answers he was looking for. Meanwhile, Diana had already logged out of the game, feeling pleased with herself for taking down Frank.

Frank put his phone down with a heavy heart, no longer feeling happy. He stood up and walked towards the door, wanting to get some fresh air. John, who had just seen Frank excitedly jumping around like a puppy minutes ago, was now puzzled by his sudden change in demeanor. "Where are you going?" he asked.

"I'm going to die!" replied Frank, in a bizarre manner that left John even more confused.

After finishing the game, Diana pocketed her phone and stretched her arms lazily. Where could John be? Maybe she should go find him. As she started to head upstairs, she saw Jade slam her coffee heavily on the table and say, "It's cold, you can have it!"

Diana was confused, "I just asked you to cool it down, I didn't say I wanted it. Just go pour it out."

"What do you mean by that?!" Jade's face turned red, and she couldn't help but question, "Miss Thompson, are you playing games with me?!" Her tone was full of anger.

Diana smiled mischievously, "So what if I am?"

"This is not the Thompson family's place. No one will allow you to do whatever you want. This is Mr. Matthews' mansion in Cloud City!" Jade's voice grew louder in anger.

Diana looked at her like she was an idiot and rolled her eyes before heading upstairs. She didn't feel like wasting time with this imbecile.

"You can't go upstairs!" Jade blocked her way, gritting her teeth. This Miss Thompson was just as shameless as the rumors outside claimed! Not only did she have a bad temper, but she also dared to run around the boss's villa!

Diana frowned, wondering whether to use physical force or verbal persuasion, but then she heard footsteps. Her heart lifted. Was that John coming down? Diana patted her skirt and put on a delicate appearance. Finally, the footsteps grew louder, and a tall figure appeared around the corner. When the person saw Diana, they widened their eyes in surprise. "Diana?!"

Diana frowned and looked disappointed, "Why is it you?"

"Isn't that my line? What are you doing here?" Frank's eyes were full of disdain. He had just been killed by Z in the game, and now he had run into the last person he wanted to see. Annoying!

"None of your business! I'm here to find John!" Diana said as she "tsked" and headed upstairs.

Frank was in a bad mood and suddenly stood in front of Diana, saying, "Don't bother my bro, he's busy!"

Diana slumped her face and said, "Move!"

"I won't move!" Frank retorted.

Looking at Frank's defiant appearance, Diana narrowed her eyes. She then grabbed Frank's collar and threw him to the side, causing Frank to hit the stair railing and scream like a pig. "Ouch! You brute! Your strange power hurt me so much!"

Jade, who was nearby, was shocked by the scene. This was too arrogant! Mr. Getty was a friend who had played with John since they were young. Since he despised Diana so much, John must also dislike her! She guessed correctly! What a shameless woman! Jade rushed over, ignoring etiquette, and viciously grabbed Diana's arm. "Get down! Do you know who you're dealing with?!"

Diana squinted her eyes, revealing a dangerous aura. "Let go!"

Jade was frightened by her gaze and let go of her hand. Diana coldly snorted, stretched out her hand, and pulled her arm away from Jade's grip. She was about to approach Jade when she suddenly saw a familiar figure appear by the stairs. It was John! Due to being at home, he was dressed casually with a few buttons on his shirt undone, revealing his sexy collarbone. He wore a pair of gray casual pants and had a careless and relaxed demeanor. This man was so handsome, no matter what he wore! Diana silently swallowed her saliva.

Upon seeing her, John stopped in his tracks, looking a bit incredulous. "What are you doing here?"

Before Diana could answer, Jade quickly spoke up, "Sorry, sir. Miss Thompson insisted on coming up, and Mr. Getty and I couldn't stop her!"

As soon as Jade finished speaking, Frank immediately jumped up and down. "You're talking nonsense! I didn't do anything, I didn't even touch her!" He then looked at John, pleading for his life as if he was about to swear an oath.

Jade looked puzzled but didn't think much of it and immediately said, "Sir, sorry to bother you...I'll kick her out right away!"

Upon hearing this, John's eyes instantly grew cold. "Who are you kicking out?"

"I...I am..." Jade suddenly panicked as she felt the sudden drop in pressure around her. What is happening? Why is the boss suddenly so angry? Her legs went weak, and her ankles trembled. "Sir, I..."

John furrowed his brow. "Where is Mr. Robinson?"

Upon hearing this, the servant at the door hurried to call for him. Soon, Mr. Robinson rushed over. Seeing the coldness on John's face, he immediately felt a chill. This is bad...John looked at Jade on the ground and said coldly, "Get her out of here!"

"Yes, yes..." Mr. Robinson dragged Jade up from the ground, wishing he could kick her. What did this idiot do to make the boss so angry?! Jade opened her eyes wide, incredulously looking at Diana. The boss...is he angry for this woman?! "I-I'm sorry, I really am," Jade began to plead. "Miss Thompson, I shouldn't have stopped you. I apologize. You are so kind and forgiving, can you please help me out?" She thought to herself that since she's begging Diana, Diana would pretend to be kind and say a few words for her to maintain her image!

She had a good idea, but who knew that Diana would dig into her ear and show a bewildered expression, "Kind and forgiving? Are you talking about me?" She pointed to herself and showed a cunning smile. "Sorry, but I'm famous for being arrogant and unhelpful!"

Jade: !!! Is this woman crazy?! By saying this, is she trying not to marry the boss?! Jade looked in horror at John, only to see him looking at Diana with a doting expression, his eyes showing a hint of...gentleness?! This is unbelievable!

After speaking, Diana shook her head to herself. "John, your subordinates are unreasonable and incompetent. You need to be stricter when hiring in the future."

John obediently agreed. "Yes, you're right." Jade was completely dumbfounded. If she was kicked out today, it wouldn't be easy for her to find a job in this industry in the future. Thinking of this, Jade's face turned ashen, and she regretted everything.

As Jade was being dragged out of the living room, Diana suddenly felt relieved. This kind of person who can't place themselves is trouble. She withdrew her gaze and turned to Frank, showing a mysterious smile. Frank suddenly felt goosebumps all over his body. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Frank thought: "Is she going to complain to John? With the many years of friendship between me and my John bro, even if John knew I had just been rude to Diana, he would...kill me!"

Diana gazed at Frank's nervous demeanor and suddenly raised her head, "Now that John and I are engaged, Frank, shouldn't you change your way of addressing me?"

"Huh?" Frank looked regretful. "Change the way I address you?!" This big oaf couldn't possibly be asking him to call her "Mrs. Matthews," could she?! Frank's face changed instantly. "Dream on!"

Tsk tsk, he really wasn't obedient. Diana hugged her arms, thinking that Frank was cuter in the game, even though he was kind of annoying. It was still better than this irritating look he had on now.

"Little girl has a point. You really do need to change the way you address her," John spoke up calmly at a critical moment.

Frank was tongue-tied for a moment. He usually listened to John in every situation, but this one...a man can be killed but not humiliated!
