Training Turf

Rin's heart was beating rapidly, his blood was pumping at a rate he never felt before. Everything he could see, for him it was no less than a miracle. Haruka took rin to the teacher who was at command of the training of newbies. For his surprise it was kagami sensei himself.

"welcome, mr. Rin it seems you already have made some friends, without taking rest you came straight for the training, nice to see you so interested at learning"

It was just an accident rin never meant to start right away, he just came by as an observer but now he can't back off after unexpectedly meeting kagami sensei, not in front all of the class.

Rin : yeah, it was quite boring in there so I came for a little warm up.

Kagami : why little let's start your training from here and now. Kagami made some action and ring of magic appeared in thin air, he puts his hand inside it and took out a microphone. Kagami hits the microphone twice to get everyone attention.

"everyone, this is kimura rin, from today he will be your new classmate." He kept the mic back in that magic rin and then puts a serious expression on his face. "Now that I have finished your introduction let's start with your training"

Rin murmuring to himself "quite short it was, I will not acknowledge it as an introduction"

Kagami : what are you babbling?

Rin : nothing sir it's just...…..... that I am very excited.

Kagami pointed towards a mat

"yes it looks so, now go there and sit in a meditating posture"

Rin went to the free mat kept beside the guy who manipulated fire like it was nothing. Rin's body was quivering not in fear but in excitement of learning to use magic.

He sat on the mat keeping one leg on the other, keeping his back bone straight in short padmasana.

"ok it's done, now what?"

Kagami : concentrate all your focus at one point of your body such as your hand. Close your eyes and feel the power, the energy flowing throughout yours body. Let the energy flowing through the environment pass through your body. Unite your body and mind as one with the nature, absorb the mana surging through the environment and give it it's nature and then release it back to the environment.

Hearing those words rin gave a weird look to kagami and said "can you repeat it in a not complicated way"

Kagami : ha ha ha, don't worry I didn't expect you to understand it so easily, for now just keep your body at ease and feel the environment as one with your body, think yourself as a part of your surroundings.

Rin calmed his mind concentrating his mind but it is not that easy as it sounds. Rin could see all the useless thoughts running all over his mind. That's when he remembers his friend getting beat because rin broke the neighbour's widow while playing baseball. He couldn't control his laugh and giggled, it was not so loud but was noticed by kagami sensei.

"What so funny about meditation, you have to clear your mind rin otherwise you will never be able to succeed. Now, try again. Just keep your mind still and let go of any thoughts or imagination that comes into your head. Rin was again back at concentrating, this time he gave it his all and within a few minutes his mind was all clear, he could hear nothing, he could see nothing, he could feel nothing.

Half an hour passed, all the students were sitting in a neutral position, there was pin drop silence in the whole ground as if the whole world was asleep. Actually some were including our MC, he could sense nothing, it was all calm when suddenly something hits his head.

"baaang....."

"aaaahhh, who the fu...…."

He could only say up to this much when another one strikes him but this times not with a paper bat instead a high voltage inflammable purple lightning. Rin knocks out for a min.

Students near him rushed to check if he was alive but the rest of them enjoyed their sweet break. It was quite normal for most of them, the ones who had experienced it before they knew that it was going to be a lot more harder than this.

Kagami sensei to the rest of the class : haai haai , everyone back to your work, (with a smirk on his face) it's just a small alarm to wake him up, take care if you don't want one.

All of them moved to their own places without looking back, it could be seen in their eyes that terror had seized the soul of the helpless students, they were also beginners never imagined it to be tough. There was a trace of regret in their mind but nothing could help them anymore cause during the training periods kagami sensei is no less than the devil.

Within a few seconds Rin as back to his senses, he was completely confused, his body was petrified with the shock unable to figure out what just happened with him. He looked around himself, all eyes were closed, some were shaking and the rest of them sat quietly without moving a muscle. He was about to speak up when kagami sensei asked him.

"It was quite a long and peaceful nap you took there, hmm?"

Rin face turned down, guilt and embarrassment could be seen through his face

"I am sorry kagami sensei, I think using magic is way beyond my capabilities. Maybe this isn't my kind of thing, instead of this can I get to learn how to use magical weapons"

Sensei wanted to make it clear for everyone so he used this chance as an example for all. He took out a blazing gun from his magical hollow pouch that he created with magic and handed it over to rin. Everyone present in the ground was stunned, they never had seen anyone using magical weapons. The person ought to be a 3rd tier magician to be able to receive a magical weapon. It was their first time to see someone who doesn't even have a minute knowledge about mana is being handed a magical weapon.
