Learning Magic!

The new abilities that Haru obtained are 'Mana Detection' and 'Mana Manipulation.' The first ability allows him to sense the elusive existence of Mana. Meanwhile, the second ability lets him control Mana as he pleases. Of course, his proficiency in manipulating Mana is tied to his Mind statistic. If his Mind is higher than his Magic, he has a near-perfect control over his Mana.

Haru dismisses the notifications and focuses his attention on his task; he wants to know the limits of his newly unlocked mystical power. Before long, he finds his limits; his Mana's reserve and quality are too low because of the low Magic stat.

Without breaking out of his meditative state, Haru accesses his Menu and dumps all remaining Points to his Magic stat, increasing it to 11 points. He immediately notices the difference; the space of his Magic Reservoir improves, and the potency and the quality of his Mana become better. He calculates that his reserve has increased by 100% per point.

Haru exits his meditative state and raises his right hand until it becomes parallel to his chest, his palm facing upward. He then controls his Mana to move toward his right hand and coaxes it to come out of the openings or nodes in his palm. He then condenses the energy into a ball of raw Mana.

When Haru sees a softball-sized 'something' floating on top of his palm, he knows that he succeeds. But alas, it breaks off his concentration and disperses his Mana into the air.

For your information, Mana doesn't have color, or maybe, Haru's Mana doesn't have any. Other than sensing the existence of Mana due to 'Mana Detection,' Haru also sees mirage. That seems like the result of Refraction caused by heat where his condensed Mana has been staying at.

Haru releases a frustrated sigh and then forms a wry smile.

"It looks like it won't be easy. Concentration is vital in controlling my Mana, and a small lapse in concentration can break the spell structure. Since it's only a ball of raw Mana, it didn't explode and hurt me. But, I can't be sure if I will stay unscathed if it explodes when I am crafting a complicated spell," Haru hypothesized calmly.

"Fortunately, I have raised my Mind stat. If I utilize the full potential of my mental capacity, controlling my Mana won't be a problem."

Haru then ponders about another matter; he wants to know if he can cast elemental spells. Without wasting his time, he begins experimenting; he tries and fails to convert his neutral Mana into elemental Mana.

"It seems like I'm unable to cast an elemental spell. Is it because I have no aptitude?"

Disappointed, Haru ends his meditation and flops back on the barren ground; he takes a break before he continues his magical training.

Haru spends his time absentmindedly staring at the magnificent canopy of the World Tree.

"Maybe, I need to unlock the aptitude for elements first? Well, I'll figure it out later. What's important is that I can control my Mana well. I wonder if I can use telekinesis with my neutral Mana," Haru pondered after he ended his short break. He then decided to test it out.

Haru raises his body to a sitting posture and creates a wooden cube with his Absolute Authority over this world. The wooden cube has a precise weight of 1 kg.

"Let's see," Haru licked his bottom lip and muttered.

He then thrusts his right hand forward, with his open palm pointing at the wooden cube. He puts his concentration on controlling his Mana.

After his Mana exits through the metaphysical nodes in his palm, he makes the colorless energy wrapping the wooden cube. He then tries to lift the wooden cube with his Mana.

"Oh! I did it!" Haru exclaimed in excitement.

However, Haru immediately loses control over his telekinetic grip because his concentration is broken. The wooden cube falls down the ground as a result.

Haru isn't discouraged, however. He repeats his earlier action and makes the wooden cube fly around him with his telekinetic power.

Although it is simple telekinesis, Haru is so happy. He is like a child with his new toy. Well, that is obvious; he is doing MAGIC!

Haru experiments the limits of his telekinetic power. He discovers that his maximum weight is around 700 kg; he can hold on that for a while before his Mana gets depleted.

Then—

"Dhamnh~! I fheeel lhike shiiit~! (Trans: Damn! I feel like shit!)" Haru wheezed.

He seems very miserable because he is experiencing his first-ever 'Mana Depletion' sickness.

Haru realizes how awful the 'Mana Depletion' sickness is. It feels like you have a fever as well as having no energy to move your body. It is so unpleasant.

Thankfully, the items created in this world can help him refill his Magic Reservoir. He created a fruit, which looked like a blue-colored apple, that can recover his Mana.

"Geez, somehow, I can recover my Mana with items created by Innovate Clear, but Stamina is no go, huh? What a picky restriction!" Haru complained after he recovered from the 'Mana Depletion' sickness.

Admittedly, Haru's complaint is justified. After all, both Stamina and Mana are a type of energy. Yet, he can't recover his Stamina like what he can do with his Mana.

"I guess I am gonna power-level now. I'll think about expanding the utilities of my telekinesis later."

His next action decided, Haru wastes no time to implement it. He creates another batch of mice and kills them with a thought.

This time, one mouse only raised his XP gauge by 0.01%. Haru feels a mild irritation but dismisses this feeling. He then continues power-leveling.

After reaching Level 10, Haru obtains Basic Affinity Aptitude. In short, this ability gives him an aptitude for Fire, Wind, Earth, and Water.

Concerning each affinity, they govern nature aspects as follows,

Fire, governing over flame, heat, and combustion.

Water, governing over liquid and its other states such as ice and vapor.

Earth, governing over minerals such as dirt, stone, metal, crystal, etc.

Wind, governing over the wind, which can generate electricity and be utilized in a covert action like refracting lights to appear transparent and suppressing sound, smell, etc.

Haru puts his power-leveling on hold to test his new aptitude for Basic Affinities. He casts any elemental spells that he can think of: fireball, fire arrow, firewall, wind blade, tornado, rock bullet, rock wall, water bullet, etc.

Haru was so excited when he finally cast these elemental spells; he finally felt like a real mage from those fantasy novels that he read in his past life.

He also dumped his Points to the Mind and Magic stats, raising them to the whopping 43 points each.

After he stopped, Haru continues power-leveling. Soon, he achieves Level 20. He also obtains 'Advanced Affinity.' This new ability gives Haru an aptitude for abstract concepts such as space, time, life, death, mind, support, curse, gravity, etc.

Haru puts his power-leveling on hold once again to test his new aptitudes. He spent more time with these abstract affinities than when he experimented with his Basic Affinities.

In the end, Haru is satisfied with his new power. And so, he continues power-leveling.

At Level 30, the Alchemy Meister ability, which allow trans-mutate one object to another, is unlocked.

Then, at Level 40, the Enchantment Master ability is unlocked; it allows him to enchant all items, even the mundane ones. Of course, the resulting enchantment is according to the Enchanter's magic and the quality of the enchanted materials.

In any case, those two abilities are so useful.

After receiving an alert that requested his confirmation to change Class, Haru decided to put equipping his new Class on hold. Why? Because he isn't ready to be transported to another world after he just started his second life!

As you may have guessed, Haru's next Class is 'Isekai Protagonist.'

Now that his progress meets a bottleneck, Haru wonders what he will do next.

Before long, Haru makes up his mind. "I guess I can use my time here to fill this place with something," he said as he inspected the barren wasteland around him.
