Chapter 22

On the other side of the battlefield, Sophie was on the same team as Stefan. She wasn't sure exactly how they ended up in the same direction, but he was acting weird. Or rather stupid - he was defending Sophie all the time. It made her nervous because she had her own weapon and he kept her from fighting.

Their Enemy Commander was a big Golden Lion. His pawns were also dressed in gold armour. Sophie wanted to attack the Commander and felt she could beat him, but Stefan jumped in her way.

"Stop making yourself interesting and keep your water! You don't want to be without anything to drink, do you?" he cut her off when she tried to help.

Sophie was about to get stuck in turn, but Rebecca grabbed her quickly by the arm and pulled her back. She was perfectly fluent in the fire as well as her specific portals. She had created a long, thin whip of fire and hit all her opponents.

But the girl didn't give up. Immersed in light anger, her eyes lit up and the bow appeared in her hands. With small shots, she was knocking down many enemies. She was as fast as the light. More of the pawns surrounded her and she prepared to strike with a stronger and more intense punch. A smile of joy was written on her face.

She was just about to strike when all her opponents were knocked down by a loud fire attack. For a moment, Sophie froze in one place disgruntled.

She recovered quickly and pointed her bow at more distant targets, but someone grabbed her by the shoulder. She turned sharply with a furious expression. Her eyes still lit in pure white. The hand shook her even louder and the girl this time began to hear her voice.

"Sophie! Sophie, come on! Snap out of it! "the voice was screaming but it seemed very distant.

The girl shook her head to brighten her up. The voice grabbed her hands. She dropped the bow, which dispersed into the air even before it fell to the ground. Her eyes have finally returned to normal. Her face calmed down and she was now expressing wonder.

The voice that shook her was Axel's. He had finally managed to catch up with her. The boy expected to find her defenceless, but instead, most of their enemies were dead from her arrows. There was confusion in his eyes.

"What are you doing, Sofia?! How in the world can you destroy them? Don't tell me you spent all your water because of this!"

Pain and anger were once again drawn into her heart. She felt she could do it, but how could she explain that to Axel?

She looked up at her water and was amazed to see that she had not had her finger on the bottle! Axel followed her gaze and his face faded.

"But…how…but with so many arrows, you should have at least half of the water out!"

"Would you stop the love scenes? We are leading a fight here if you haven't seen it," Stefan snapped. "Oh, no…no way…"

Less than 10 feet away, an entire clan of golden lions was approaching them. It was only now that the group noticed that the Lion Commander's eyes were glowing in fiery red like robins. He seemed to be calling his friends for help.

"There's no way I can do it on my own..." Axel whispered, and Sophie was going to got stuck again, but the boy continued. "Who else is with us? " he looked around.

Besides Rebecca, they were also with Minako, who, like other water benders, was defenceless and Laura. She had pulled out her long gun and cut everything alive.

Plus, all the pawns, their new opponents were 10. They were running out of time.

"Well then. Girls, you stay here and fight his pawns. Stefan and I will take care of the other monsters. Protect Minako and Sofia.

Sophie didn't believe her ears. Her hair rose in the air. Her face was covered in anger, and her eyes lit up again in pure white. The bow ended up in her arms without even touching the water bottle on her waist.

"And who made you the boss, Axel? And how dare you leave us behind? Just because we're girls doesn't make us any weaker than you!" the girl screamed at him a little. Again, she wasn't herself. It was like some ghost had possessed her.

"I just want to protect you! I don't mean to offend you. I'm just worried about you." Axel tried to calm her, but she did not listen.

She moved on, and a detailed way of dealing with problems came up in her brain. Her eyes were still lit in pure white.

"Laura, Rebecca, you take on a few of the golden lions. Surround them in a circle. Laura, you close the circle with the Earth element. Rebecca drags them there. The defence is going to help a little bit.

Minako, go find a backup. Stefan, take care of the pawns. They breathe air, don't they? That's where you would help the most. Axel and I will take care of the Commander."

"Do you seriously intend..." Stefan tried to ask, but he was interrupted.

"Listen to what I'm saying, and we will survive! There's no way just the two of you to handle them! These creatures are of pure gold! You can't even suffocate them! Act!"

Axel tried to grab Sophie by the arm, but she got away with it. Still uneasy, she confronted her great enemy with a victorious face.
