The Early Ice Bird Catches the Cat!

The episode starts with Jessie and friends wandering in the cave of the Seafoam Islands while the narrator is talking in the background. "Last episode, Jessie and her friends managed to make it to the Seafoam Islands on foot to look for Articuno. After they rested up near the firepit for a few minutes, they were back on the lookout for Articuno. As they get deeper and deeper into the cave.

As the gang got deeper into the cave, the structure started to expand and they were met with a snowy platform below them and icy rocks surrounding the entire cave. "It's like a completely new cave from what we experienced near the entrance," Jessie stated.

Domino looks up and sees large icicles on the call as she gulps. "I hope those icicles don't fall…"

"We should get going and find Articuno before we completely freeze in here," James says, receiving a nod from his friends.

The gang continues walking through the cave, trying their best to ignore the completely cold temperatures. A few seconds pass and the gang hears the sound of Pokémon nearby as they gulp. "I think I hear Pokémon nearby." Jessie turns to Meowth. "Meowth, you're going have to battle them." She whispered.

Meowth immediately shakes his head no. "No, I'm not! I'm saving all of my energy on those legendary birds."

"Then what do we do?!" Domino asked, panicking.

James notices a boulder frozen by ice and directs the others. "We hide there!"

The gang hides behind the frozen boulder and some red-eyed Zubat and Golbat fly back, all of them screeching loudly. "Zubat! Zubat! Zubat!" "Golbat! Golbat! Golbat!"

Once the Pokémon fly away out of the view, the gang peeks out from hiding. "That was a close one," Domino says, sighing in relief.

"Meowth, were those Golbat and Zubat saving the same words? 'All humans are evil'?" Jessie asked.

Meowth nods in response. "It's like some messed up cult."

"We should keep exploring," James ordered, receiving a nod from Jessie, Domino, and Meowth, as they continued exploring deeper in the cave.

The title screen shows.

"The Early Ice Bird Catches the Cat!"

The scene cuts to the gang arriving at a wooden ladder heading down to the hole in the cave as they're looked on in confusion. "How did a ladder get here? Who installed it?" Jessie asked.

James looks at the wood, noticing it's old. "The wood on this ladder looks old, it seems like someone was here a long time ago and built them down these holes."

Domino looks down at the hole. "This hole looks like a long drop, so I appreciate whoever installed this ladder."

"It wouldn't matter to me whether or not the ladder is there because cats always land on their feet!" Meowth grins with a chuckle.

"Alright!" Domino picks up Meowth, about to drop him down in the hole.

"Hey! What are you doing?! Let me go!" Meowth starts struggling to get out of Domino's grasp.

"What's the matter? I thought you said it wouldn't matter because cats land on their feet, right?"

"Guys, knock it off or you're gonna attract an endangered wild Pokémon to us!" Jessie warned.

But it was too late as slow footsteps were heard heading towards the gang, they turned around and it was a wild red-eyed Slowbro staring directly at the gang. "Slow…bro… Slow…bro… Slow…bro…"

The gang stares at the wild red-eyed Slowbro who is staring back and not doing anything. James waves his hand in front of the wild Slowbro. "Uhh… hello?"

"Is this Slowbro infected?" Domino asked.

"Well I see red eyes and it's slowly chanting all the familiar three words. Yeah, they're infected by the brainwashing alright." Meowth answered.

"But why isn't it attacking us?" Jessie walks over to the wild Slowbro and taps its face. "Earth to Slowbro, are you there?"

Slowbro responded with a slow cry. "Slow…bro… Slow…bro… Slow…bro…"

"I guess even if Mewtwo brainwashed the Pokémon, they haven't affected their personalities. I guess Slowbro is just too lazy to attack as well even under the effects of Mewtwo." James explained.

"Wow, that's kinda sad if you ask me," Meowth said before noticing that Domino was still holding him. "Can you let me go now?!"

"Oh right, my bad!" Domino lets go of Meowth and chuckles embarrassingly, rubbing the back of her head.

"We're uhh… going to go, Slowbro. See ya!" Jessie awkwardly waves goodbye at the wild Slowbro as Jessie and her friends all climb down the ladder of the hole in the cave.

"Slow…bro… Slow…bro… Slow…bro…" Slowbro stares at the wooden ladder for a few seconds before slowly turning around and leaving the area.

The scene cuts to Jessie and her friends arriving at the bottom of the wooden ladder as they let go and land on a different floor of the cave. The gang continues walking in the cave. "Let's hope Articuno is here. I don't want to find out that this was a huge waste of time." Domino says.

"The only way to find out is we have to explore deeper until we can't anymore," Jessie replied.

"Basically what Jessie said." James agreed. "We can only hope that Articuno is here."

Three red-eyed wild Krabby appear in front of the gang, pinching their claws aggressively towards them. "Coo kee! Coo kee! Coo kee!"

Domino leans on one knee with sparkles in her eyes from seeing the three wild Krabby. "Aww, it's a bunch of adorable Krabby."

"Domino, you know they're also brainwashed, right?" James asked, a little scared from seeing them.

"I know, but they're so adorable and cute looking, they weren't hurt that much." Domino ends up picking up one of the wild red-eyed Krabby and starts talking to it in a silly voice. "After this crazy brainwashing is over, I'm going to catch one of you. Yes, I am! Yes, I am!"

The wild Krabby that Domino picked up tries to pinch her in the face, but luckily Domino is holding the wild Krabby faraway where the wild Krabby can't reach her face. "Coo kee! Coo kee! Coo kee!"

"That isn't going to work, I know you were going to try to harm me!" Domino says with a laugh.

"Okay Domino, put down the Krabby, and let's go," Jessie says, impatiently.

"Okay! Okay!" As Domino was about to put down the Krabby, she spotted a big shadow on the ground. "Huh?" Domino looks and sees a wild red-eyed Kingler arriving at the scene.

"Kingler! Kingler! Kingler!" The wild red-eyed Kingler raises its pinches and starts slamming it down towards Domino.

"AH!" Domino quickly moves out of the way before Kingler's Crabhammer attack could strike her. "I-it's a Kingler!"

James gulps. "I-I think that Kingler is a mother and those Krabby are her children!"

The red-eyed mother Kingler and her red-eyed Krabby children all sent bubbles towards the gang from their mouths.

The gang all covered their faces from being hit by the bubble attack from Kingler and her children. "Ow! Ow! Ow!"

"Run for it!" Jessie yelled out as she and her friends dashed out of the area quickly and then she pointed to another ladder leading down deeper in the cave while they were sprinting. "Look, another ladder!"

The gang quickly runs to the ladder going down and they slide down to the next basement floor as they stop to catch their breath. "That was a close one," Domino says.

Meowth glares at Domino. "We would've been down here ages ago, but you just had to stop and pet a Krabby."

Domino defends herself. "The Krabby was cute! Plus I am a water-type trainer and I have to adore water-type Pokémon even if they're under this psychic brainwashing mess!"

"Let's not argue right now, we need to continue exploring this cave," James informed them.

"But what about more wild Pokémon potentially attacking us?" Jessie questioned.

"I was keeping this for emergency reasons, but technically this is an emergency." James pulls out a bottle of Repel from his jacket. "Ta-da! I got some Repel. I have had this bottle since I started traveling with you guys."

"Wait, so you mean to tell me that all of those other times before when we needed Repel, you were straight lying to us?!" Meowth pointed out.

James sighs. "I kept this Repel for extremely emergency reasons only and I believe this an extreme emergency. I'm sorry for lying to you guys, okay, but understand why I kept this Repel from you guys until now."

The gang heard more sounds of wild Pokémon nearby and a horde of red-eyed Zubat and Golbat from earlier spotted them. "It's those Zubat and Golbat!" Jessie pointed out.

The gang immediately starts running away from the wild horde of red-eyed Zubat and Golbat, screeching towards them. The scene cuts to the gang running and running until they get trapped in a corner of the cave. "We're trapped!" Domino exclaimed.

The gang turns around to see the horde of wild red-eyed Zubat and Golbat trapping them and screeching towards them angrily. "James, we could use that Repel now!" Jessie reminded.

"Right!" James aims his Repel at the wild red-eyed horde of Zubat and Golbat. "Begone, you bats!" He tries to spray the Zubat and Golbat with the Repel, but nothing comes out of it. "What?" James shakes the can and it feels empty. "Um guys, I think I used it already in the past."

"WHAT?!" Jessie, Domino, and Meowth all screamed in shock.

The gang sees the horde of wild Zubat and Golbat coming closer to them while they're trapped in a corner. With no escape, they all hugged each other in fear, accepting their fate. "I'm going to miss you guys!" Jessie says. "Us too!" Domino, James, and Meowth all replied.

The horde of red-eyed wild Golbat and Zubat screeched aggressively at the gang, diving in to bite them, but before they could, the sound of a rock being thrown was heard, stopping the Golbat and Zubat dead in their tracks.

A familiar voice to the gang was heard from a distance. "Hey you vampire wannabes, come and get me!"

The gang looked to where the voice was coming from and it was the Cinnabar Gym Leader Blaine. "Blaine?!" The gang all exclaimed.

Blaine continues trying to taunt the wild red-eyed Golbat and Zubat, trying to lead them away from the gang. "I bet you all can't bite me even if you try!"

It seems to be working at the Golbat and Zubat turns directly towards Blaine, screeching at them, and starts aggressively flying toward him.

Blaine looks at the gang and immediately points at the ladder going down. "Go! Get to the ladder!" He dodges one of the Zubat that dashed towards him.

"But what about you, Blaine?! Do you want some help?!" Jessie asked.

"I'll be fine, don't worry about me!" Blaine dodges one of the Golbat that also dashed towards him. "Just go to the ladder already!"

"Come on, we all heard what he said, let's go!" Meowth demanded as he and the rest of the gang sprint towards the ladder and they head down to the next floor.

Meanwhile, Blaine was still dodging every wild Zubat and Golbat trying to strike him, but as soon as all the Zubat and Golbat dashed towards him, he saw the perfect opportunity to pull out his Repel from his pockets. "Taste this!" Blaine sprays the wild red-eyed Zubat and Golbat with his Repel, causing them to screech out in pain and quickly fly away.

The scene cuts to the gang on the third bottom floor of the cave after hopping off the ladder. They look up and start feeling guilty about leaving Blaine. "Maybe we should go back up to save him?" Domino suggested.

"He did say he will be fine, right?" James says. "The only thing we can do is keep moving."

Jessie sighs. "I guess you're right, James. We should keep moving."

The gang was about to leave when they heard climbing noises from the ladder, turning around and spotting Blaine. "I hope you guys aren't planning on abandoning me," Blaine says with a chuckle as he hops down.

"Blaine!" The gang all said with open-mouthed smiles.

"Yep! It's been a while, you three. What brings you here?" Blaine asked.

"We could ask you the same question, old man," Meowth responded.

Jessie glares at Meowth for a little bit before answering. "We heard that Articuno is spotted around here, we believe that beating the three legendary birds is a step forward in saving Kanto."

Blaine nods, understanding what she said. "It's going to be tough to battle Articuno when every Pokémon has been mind-controlled, unless…" The Cinnabar Gym Leader notices Meowth isn't affected at all. "Meowth isn't affected?!"

"I know, I'm a lucky Meowth am I?" Meowth chuckles.

"It's a long story, but Meowth told us that receiving help from a certain Pokémon made him immune to this psychic brainwashing," Jessie answered.

"I see… so Meowth is our only hope of saving Kanto and returning everything to normal?" Blaine questioned, he looked at Meowth's small size. "No offense but my hopes are low."

"Hey!" Meowth exclaimed. "You're all that I got here, so you better give me more respect!"

"Moving on… Blaine, can you tell us why you're here then?" James asked.

"Before I do that, I want you guys to spray the rest of this Repel so that no other wild Pokémon will attack you." Blaine hands the gang his Repel that he used a few minutes ago.

"Thanks, Blaine!" Domino accepts the Repel and sprays it on herself, then Jessie, then James, and finally Meowth and she hands it back to Blaine.

Blaine accepts back his Repel and sprays the last bit of it to himself before putting it away. "Let's hope this is enough to reach the other bottom floor of this cave." He and the gang start walking through the cave as Blaine starts telling him why he's currently here. "Well it's simple, the reason why I'm here is to try to find a new location for my new Gym."

"A new Gym?" Jessie questioned. "But you already have a Gym on Cinnabar Island, right?"

Blaine crosses his arms and closes his eyes. "Not anymore."

Domino has a worried look on her face. "What do you mean, Blaine?"

"Well, it all started the night before this part of Kanto became a frozen wasteland." Blaine leads to a flashback happening with him narrating.

Blaine is seen in his house, reading a book, and minding his own business as he takes a sip of his drink.

"I just closed up the Gym for the night and I suddenly spotted snow falling from the sky of my window."

Blaine looks at the window, seeing that it's snowing, and scratches his head in confusion.

"I was already skeptical because it's summer and it's snowing? Especially on Cinnabar Island. Cinnabar Island barely gets any snow at all, even during the winter."

The flashback time skips to an hour being passed and Blaine notices it's still snowing.

"I thought it was just going to be a quick little shower of snow, but I waited for an hour and it was still snowing. That's when I immediately took action."

Blaine stands up from his chair and leaves his house. The flashback cuts to Blaine on the bleach and building a raft.

"I started constructing a raft ahead of time and after I was finished, I headed back home."

After Blaine has finished building a raft, he stands up and heads back home from the beach. The flashback time skips to the morning and Blaine is watching the TV.

"I was watching the news and that's when I heard about all the Pokémon being psychically controlled and all of Kanto being split into three disasters. A frozen wasteland, a giant fireball, and a never-ending storm."

Blaine pulls out Magmar's Poké Ball and looks at it.

"I was in disbelief. I was going to send out Magmar to see if that news story is true and if my Magmar was affected by this, but I didn't since the risk is too much."

As Blaine puts his Magmar's Poké Ball back in his pocket. He hears shaking and rumbling.

"That's when it happened, it started shaking and rumbling. I knew it wasn't an earthquake, but the Volcano was about to erupt."

Blaine rushes outside to see a frozen Cinnabar Island and then sees the Volcano is about to erupt. He sprints towards the beach.

"I bolted to the beach, grabbing my raft to the spot where I hid it. Luckily no one else found it before I did."

Blaine runs into the water with his raft and after he is deep enough in the ocean, he jumps onto his raft and drifts away. Blaine looks back and sees Cinnabar Island being destroyed by lava.

"I looked back and saw everything on Cinnabar Island was being covered by black smoke and destroyed by lava. Including my house and the Cinnabar Gym."

The flashback ends and it cuts to the present time with Blaine explaining more. "I soon came across to the point where the ocean even froze from this apocalyptic event. I jumped off my raft and started walking on the ice and then I ended up here in the Seafoam Islands."

The gang all expressed shock at Blaine's story, not knowing what to say before Domino spoke up. "I have a question… how did the volcano on Cinnabar Island suddenly erupt?"

"It must be from the fact it snowed all night that caused it, freezing everything in the volcano," Blaine answered.

"But wouldn't it do the opposite though and prevent any eruption when a volcano is frozen?" Jessie added.

Blaine shakes his head no. "The snow froze all the hot rock in the volcano, setting up a chain reaction deep inside the volcano. The ice must've cooled off the rock, causing cracks to happen in the volcano and then lava will flow through it and that's how the volcano erupted."

"So you're planning to have a new Gym here near the Seafoam Islands?" James asked.

"That's the plan," Blain answered.

Domino looks down and frowns. "All of those people… perished by that lava of the volcano. This is like some nightmare that we can't wake up from."

"We just gotta keep going, Domino, and stop this once and for all!" The gang soon arrived at the ladder leading to the fourth basement floor of the cave. "And it starts with Articuno."

Blaine indicates that he isn't going with them by giving the gang a thumbs up. "Good luck, you four. I know you can do it."

"You're not coming with us, Blaine?" James questioned.

"I'm staying here so I can scope out the area more and learn how to construct my new Gym. Once it's finished, maybe you four should give it a visit sometime." Blaine offered.

"We will think about it, thank you!" Domino says.

Blaine nods and leaves the area. The gang slowly climbs the ladder down to the fourth basement floor of the cave, once reaching there, they spot a sky-blue bird with a crest shaped of darker blue rhombus-shaped feathers on its forehead. "Is that… Articuno in the distance?" Domino questioned.

"It's got to be Articuno. The Pokémon matches up the shape and design on the stone markings." James answered.

Jessie looks at her Meowth. "Are you ready to do this, Meowth?"

Meowth starts worrying a little. "I don't know Jess… sure I am very strong and I took down many strong Pokémon before, but what if these legendary birds are more powerful than we thought?"

Jessie tries to pump up Meowth. "You're our last hope Meowth, we're going to need all the strength you have to win. I know you can do this!"

Domino and James both join in as well. "You can do it Meowth, we believe in you!" They both said.

Meowth takes a deep breath, gaining confidence. "You're all right! I can beat that bird!" He makes his paws more sharper as they glow white. "Let's do this!"

The gang starts walking to the ice path that leads to Articuno. Once the legendary bird spots them, Articuno lets out a battle cry towards the gang, directing towards them that it wants to battle.

"Looks like we're already in the battle." Jessie points directly at Articuno. "Okay, Meowth, I choose you!"

Meowth jumps onto the made-up battlefield and stares down the legendary bird. "Alright you snowcone, it's time for me to give you a beating of a lifetime!"

Articuno screams out its battle cry before the legendary bird starts flying through the cave.

Meowth groans. "I knew it wasn't going to be this easy."

Articuno is behind Meowth and then flaps its wings and a strong blizzard comes out of them at the talking Pokémon.

"Meowth, behind you!" Jessie warned. "Dodge it!"

Meowth quickly turns around. "AH!" He jumps out of the way to dodge Articuno's attack.

"What attack was that, James?" Domino asked.

"I believe it was Articuno's blizzard attack!" James answered.

Jessie commands her first move. "Meowth, use Thunderbolt!"

"My victory is going to be quite shocking!" Meowth joked as electricity started flowing in Meowth's body, before firing a bolt of electricity directly at Articuno, but the legendary bird managed to deflect the Thunderbolt by summoning a shield in front of itself.

James points out the move once more. "Articuno's Reflect!"

Jessie grits her teeth. "We need to make Articuno come closer. Meowth, use Double Team!"

Meowth makes illusion copies of itself, surrounding the entire made-up battlefield as the real and illusion Meowth starts talking to try to mess up Articuno's head. "Which one is the real Meowth?"

Articuno's eyes glow blue and start scanning the illusions until they come across one of Meowth in the crowd full of illusions. The legendary bird's wings glow metallic, swoops down, and manages to strike the real Meowth with its right metallic wing, causing all the illusions to disappear.

"OW!" Meowth yelled out in pain.

Jessie grits her teeth some more and is in disbelief at how Articuno managed to hit the real Meowth from that Double Team. "No way…"

"James, how did Articuno manage to find the real Meowth?" Domino questioned.

James starts explaining his theory to answer Domino's question. "When Articuno's eyes glow blue, it must've used Mind Reader to read Meowth's mine and was able to tell which was the right Meowth despite the illusions and then it used Steel Wing."

"Meowth, you got to clear your mind when Articuno is using Mind Reader! Use Double Team once more!" Jessie commanded.

"Okay, got to clear my mind!" Meowth makes illusion copies of itself surrounding the made-up battlefield once more.

Articuno's eyes once more glow blue, using Mind Reader again and trying to detect the real Meowth, but the talking Pokémon manages to clear its mind and the legendary bird can't detect where Meowth is.

Jessie smirks. "Now's our chance! Meowth use Thunderbolt!"

The real and illusion Meowth all started having electricity flowing around its body and at the right moment when the talking Pokémon was about to release a powerful bolt of lightning, the Meowth illusions disappeared and the real Meowth managed to catch Articuno off guard and hit the legendary bird with Thunderbolt as Articuno screams directly in pain.

Jessie pumps her fists in the air. "Direct hit!"

Meowth's Thunderbolt causes Articuno to be paralyzed, the legendary bird begins falling and then hits the ice ground of the cave.

Domino smiles in delight. "Meowth's Thunderbolt caused Articuno to be paralyzed!"

James nods at the statement, smiling as well. "And now this means Articuno can't use its wing to fly, having the slight advantage when its wings are paralyzed."

Jessie commands the same move once more. "Meowth, use Thunderbirds again!"

"This should end you for good!" Meowth sends more electricity right toward Articuno.

Articuno battle cries before summoning a rainbow barrier, using Deflect, to protect itself from Meowth's Thunderbolt and a potential knockout.

Jessie grits her teeth. "Meowth, use Iron Tail!"

Meowth's tail glows metallic and starts dashing towards Articun. "You're gonna regret battling me!"

Articuno quickly gets its wings to glow metallic as well and the legendary bird swipes. Both Meowth's metallic tail and Articuno's metallic wing collide as Meowth quickly jumps back from his side of the made-up battlefield. "Even when Articuno is paralyzed, I still can't get a move off of it!" Meowth said in frustration.

"We got to do the Double Team strategy again! Meowth, use Double Team!" Jessie commanded.

"You got it!" Meowth makes illusion copies of itself and they all start taunting at Articuno. "I bet you can't find the real one!"

Articuno battle cries in frustration, the legendary bird tries to use Mind Reader, but the paralysis gets to Articuno as the static electricity prevents the legendary bird from using the move.

"Now's our chance, Meowth. Use Slash!" Jessie commanded.

All illusions and the real Meowth start dashing toward Articuno as their claws glow white. "Time to take you to pain town, population, you!" The illusions disappear when they jump and Meowth slashes Articuno with his sharp claws.

Articuno roars in pain from being slashed by Meowth but the legendary bird is still standing and not knocked out.

Meowth jumps back to his side of the made-up battlefield while gritting his teeth. "That's one tough bird!"

Articuno fights off the paralysis and starts flapping its wings, a strong blizzard comes out of them and directly at Meowth.

"Meowth, dodge it!" Jessie ordered.

As soon as Jessie commands her Meowth to dodge, Articuno's eyes turn blue, and then its wings glow metallic. Meowth was too distracted from dodging the Blizzard attack to notice it as the talking Pokémon did so, but as he landed, the legendary bird was already behind Meowth.

"MEOWTH, BEHIND YOU!" The gang warned.

"What?" Meowth turns around and then gets hit by Articuno's Steel Wing and sent flying where he hits a nearby ice rock.

"MEOWTH!" Jessie called out.

"That's gotta hurt, especially hitting ice…" James says, cringing after Meowth hit an ice rock.

"I hope Meowth is okay, he's our only hope," Domino added, having a worried expression.

Meowth slowly stands up, still able to battle. "I can still fight! I will beat you, Articuno!"

Jessie smiles, pumping her fist up. "That's the spirit, Meowth!"

Articuno roars directly at Meowth's response and both of the Pokémon have an intense staredown.

Jessie commands her next move. "Meowth, use Iron Tail!"

Meowth starts dashing towards Articuno, as he is doing so, his tail starts glowing metallic, and he jumps about to strike the legendary bird with it until Articuno's wings also glow metallic and the legendary bird quickly uses Steel Wing again as both moves clash.

"Now use Thunderbolt!" Jessie quickly commanded.

Meowth's body starts flowing with electricity and then the talking Pokémon sends a bolt of lightning while his Iron Tail collides with Articuno's Steel Wing, however, both Pokémon end up getting electrocuted badly with Meowth and Articuno both screaming out in pain.

After the electrocution, Meowth makes his way back to his side of the made-up battlefield, very hurt after getting electrocuted. "I'm okay…" static then surrounds the body of Meowth, paralyzed. "I'm not okay…"

"That had to finish Articuno, right?" Jessie looks over to see the legendary barely still standing, taking deep breaths. "It's still up?!"

"Articuno is much stronger than we anticipated." Domino gulps. "It's still standing after that?"

"And Meowth is paralyzed too now! I have to help him!" James looks through his backpack and pulls out a Paralyzed Heal. "Jessie, I got a Paralyzed Heal! Catch!" He throws the Paralyzed Heal to Jessie.

As the Paralyzed Heal was heading to Jessie and she was about to reach for her hands to catch it, Articuno immediately took action by flapping its wings, sending a blizzard directly towards Jessie and snatching the Paralyzed Heal with its beak.

"AH!" Jessie gets covered up in snow from Articuno's Blizzard attack.

"JESSIE!" Both Domino and James screamed out after experiencing their friend getting attacked.

Meowth then sees his trainer getting attacked. "You attacked my trainer?! You just made this personal!" He falls to his knee after paralysis hits.

Articuno breaks the Paralyzed Heal bottle with its beak and the liquid inside lands all over the legendary bird and it's no longer paralyzed as Articuno roars and starts flying around the cave.

"That Articuno stole my Paralyzed Heal, attacked Jessie, and used it on itself! That's not fair!" James exclaimed.

"We have bigger problems. Articuno isn't paralyzed anymore, Meowth is, and Jessie is covered in snow!" Domino stated.

Meowth eyes widened, trying to follow Articuno around. "This ain't good… especially with no trainer to command me the moves!"

"I-I'm okay, d-don't worry." Jessie rises from the snow that she was covered in, instantly shivering. "U-use Thunderbolt!"

Meowth tries to use Thunderbolt, but the paralysis kicks in and the talking Pokémon falls to one knee. "Stupid paralysis. I can barely move!"

Articuno swoops down and attacks Meowth with one of its metallic wings, hinting it used Steel Wing.

Meowth screams in pain. "AH!" The talking Pokémon falls down to one knee from getting hit by Articuno's Steel Wing, clearly very hurt.

Jessie's determination lets her ignore the cold after being in the snow. "Meowth, you got to hang in there, you can't go down!"

Articuno turns back around after hitting Meowth with Steel Wing and starts swooping back down, looking to hit the talking Pokémon with the same move again.

"JESSIE, DO SOMETHING!" Both Domino and James yelled out.

Jessie immediately yells out a move. "IRON TAIL!"

Meowth's tail turns metallic as he turns around at the right moment and Articuno ends up hitting the talking Pokémon's metallic tail by swooping down and letting out a loud yell from getting hurt.

Meowth turns around and sees Articuno down to the ground, looking completely fainted. "I think it's down, quick go and steal one of its feathers!"

Jessie nods, sprinting to where the supposedly fainted Articuno is, she tries to steal a feather, but one of Articuno's eyes shoots open and gets back up immediately with its battle cry right at Jessie. "AH!" She screams from getting jumpscared and falls on her rear.

Articuno flies up, staring directly at Jessie as the legendary bird gets ready to flap its wings, about to hurt Jessie once more with its Blizzard.

Jessie immediately shields her face with her hands. "I'm too young to die!"

Domino and James sprint towards where Jessie's at, trying to help her. "Come on Jessie, you got to run!" Domino says. "Yeah, before Articuno blasts us with its Blizzard.

"Yeah!" Jessie gets up, but the time to escape has already run out as Articuno starts flapping its wings directly at the gang as they brace for impact.

"OH NO YOU WON'T!" Meowth jumps up behind Jessie and his body starts getting surrounded by electricity and blasts a powerful bolt of electricity. Meowth's Thunderbolt demolishes Articuno's Blizzard and it hits the legendary bird.

Articuno screams in pain as the legendary bird crashes down to the ground and officially faints this time.

"That was a close one! Thanks, Meowth!" Domino bows for gratefulness.

"No time for thanks. Get one of Articuno's feathers before it wakes up!" Meowth exclaimed.

"Right!" Jessie sprints toward the fainted Articuno and grabs one of its feathers. "Got it!"

"Let's get out of here before any wild Pokémon attack us!" Domino exclaimed.

The scene cuts to outside where everything is covered in snow, but the clouds begin to clear up, the sun is revealed in the sky, all the snow begins melting and the ice of the frozen ocean begins slowly melting, and the weather around this area of Kanto goes back to normal.

It pans down to the gang leaving the cave of the Seafoam Islands, looking around in amazement. "It isn't cold anymore!" Domino exclaimed.

"And the weather is now back to normal in the ice area of Kanto," James stated. "Which means if we defeat the legendary birds, Kanto's weather system should fully go back to normal."

"On to the next location, the Power Plant!" Jessie tries to sprint off to the ocean, but Meowth stops her.

"Hold it, Jess!" Meowth points at the now-unfrozen ocean. "The ocean isn't frozen anymore, which means we can't walk on it."

"Oh yeah…" Jessie scratches her head in confusion. "Then how are we going to get off the Seafoam Islands?"

"Maybe our Pokémon also returned to normal around this area too?" James pulls out a Poké Ball. "Charizard, I choose you."

Charizard materializes, roaring. The flame Pokémon still has red eyes and is brainwashed as Charizard sends out flames of fire toward James from its mouth.

"EEP!" James quickly ducks to dodge the oncoming flames and quickly recalls his brainwashed Charizard. "I guess our Pokémon are still under the psychic brainwash."

Domino starts getting a little worried. "Then how are we going to get off of this island?!"

"Maybe we can-" Jessie was interrupted by familiar laughter above them.

The gang looks up and they see a familiar red R hot air balloon and Team Rocket in the basket as Cassidy begins a brand new motto. "Guess who's back and saving the day!" Butch follows up. "It's about time we do something good anyway!" "To protect the world from this crazy weather!" "To unite all peoples to get every feather!" "To help the world of the evilness of brainwashing Pokémon." "So we're gonna let bygones be bygones!" "Cassidy!" "Butch!" "Team Rocket helping after suffering many frostbite!" "So for now, let's not fight!" Mondo concludes the motto. "I'm Mondo, alright!"

Jessie looks more annoyed this time than shocked. "Oh, it's Team Rocket…"

James starts to think. "Wait, from all of those crazy words you just said, you're gonna help us?"

Team Rocket descends the hot air balloon to the ground as Cassidy answers James' question. "You're right, twerp!"

"We want to help you guys because this whole mess is infecting our Pokémon too!" Butch exclaimed. "We just want our Pokémon to return to normal and I bet you twerps also want that too."

"And no one doesn't mess with Team Rocket's Pokémon!" Mondo added. "So we're willing to have a truce until this whole mess is over!"

Cassidy grins. "I'm sure you twerps need a ride to get off the mountain, right?" She pats the basket of their hot air balloon to signal the solution the gang needs.

The gang looked at each other. "Are we sure we can trust them?" Domino questioned.

"Well… we do need to get off of this island and I believe this is the only way," James answered.

Jessie growls, not wanting to trust Team Rocket at all. "Hold on guys, maybe we can just build a raft or something?"

"I don't think this island doesn't have all the materials for that, I believe this is our only option unless you like swimming to land, Jessie," James responded.

Jessie immediately turns to Meowth. "Uh, Meowth, you surely don't want to trust them too, right?"

Meowth just shrugs in response. "I'm willing to as long as I don't have to get my fur wet from swimming."

"I'm assuming that's a deal, correct?" Butch says with a grin.

Domino, James, and Meowth all nod before they hop into the basket of Team Rocket's hot air balloon as Jessie stands there with an annoyed expression, still not trusting them. "Well, Jessie? Are you coming?" Domino questioned.

"Come on, twerpette, we don't have all day unless you rather stay on this island for the rest of your life," Mondo says.

Jessie grumbles and then finally joins his friends by hopping in the basket of Team Rocket's hot air balloon. "You three better not try anything suspicious and betray us. I got my eyes on all of you."

Cassidy rolls her eyes in response. "Whatever, twerpette. Butch, fire this baby up!"

"You got it!" Butch pulls the handle and the burner starts shooting flames and Team Rocket's hot air balloon starts ascending and then over the ocean.

"So what direction are you twerps heading to?" Cassidy asked.

James pulls out his map and looks at it. "We're heading northeast from here."

"Right… northeast, umm…" Cassidy looks around and points in a random direction. "That why?"

"You're going to have to excuse Cassidy, her directions are terrible," Mondo says with a giggle.

"Terrible?!" Cassidy exclaimed in the offense. "At least mine are better than Butch's!"

"Excuse me?!" Butch replied with a yell. "Cassidy, you would get us lost even with a compass in your hands!"

As Team Rocket continued arguing with each other, the gang looked at each other and they sighed in disappointment. "We just had to go with them…" Jessie says.

"With Articuno down and out, the gang has one out of the three feathers of the legendary birds to get into Cerulean Cave, but that's not at all. Team Rocket is willing to form a truce with the gang to help them on their quest to beat the three legendary birds, so they can save Kanto and the Pokémon, but will they get along just enough to do it? Maybe one of them still doesn't trust them enough to do so."

Jessie has a very annoyed look on her face than the rest of the gang.

"It seems like Jessie's the one! Will this backfire on the truce with Team Rocket? Find out as the journey continues!"
