Teamwork Against Evil!

The episode starts inside the Pokémon Center with Jessie at the counter and waiting for Nurse Joy to bring her full Pokémon, fully healed after her complete team suffered at the hands of Giovanni.

Jessie looks down and is disappointed in herself. "I can't believe I had him down six against one and that Giovanni guy came back and beat me with that unknown Pokémon…"

"Jessie! Your Pokémon are all fully healed and ready to battle again!" Nurse Joy, with Meowth on her shoulder, hands Jessie a tray of her now, fully healed, Pokémon.

"I'm all better, Jess!" Meowth hops onto his trainer's shoulders.

Jessie smiles and pets her Meowth. "I'm so happy you're okay!" She takes all of her Poké Balls from the tray and bows to Nurse Joy. "Thank you so much for healing all of my Pokémon, Nurse Joy."

"Of course!" Nurse Joy responded with a cheerful smile. "Besides, it's the best I can do when you saved this Pokémon Center from Team Rocket a while back!"

"I did?" Jessie soon remembers peddling Domino's burnt bike upside down in this very Pokémon Center, shocking and stopping the Team Rocket trio. "Oh! I remember now! It was no big deal, just doing my best to stop criminals." She chuckles and rubs the side of her head.

"Well, still, my gratitude!" Nurse Joy bows. "You take care now, Jessie!" She waves goodbye.

Jessie nods and waves goodbye back at Nurse Joy. "You too, Nurse Joy!" It cuts to Jessie leaving the Pokémon Center with Meowth on her shoulder. She turns to her Meowth. "You want to visit Leaf in the hospital?"

Meowth nods. "I think we should. Leaf would appreciate that."

"Right. Let's go." Jessie begins walking to the hospital with her Meowth.

The title screen shows.

"Teamwork Against Evil!"

It cuts inside the hospital, in Leaf's room, where Leaf is lying in her hospital bed with Domino and James also in her room as well. Domino is seen taking care of her blue Pokémon Egg. The door opens and a different Nurse Joy enters.

"Leaf, you have another visitor!" Nurse Joy leaves after saying that and soon, Jessie with her Meowth joins in to visit Leaf with her friends.

James perks up. "Hey! You guys made it!

"Jessie!" Leaf puts up a cheerful smile once seeing Jessie visiting. "You came to see me if I'm okay!"

"Yep!" Jessie gives her a thumbs up. "We might be rivals, but that doesn't mean I don't care about you, Leaf!"

"Thanks, Jessie… that means a lot to me." Leaf's eyes were watery for a few seconds. "I would hug you right now, but the doctors and nurses said they don't want me to leave this bed until I'm cleared to go back on the streets."

"When are you supposed to get back on your feet by the way?" Jessie asked.

"Oh, I actually can be cleared this afternoon!" Leaf's expression turns to anger. "Once I'm cleared, I'm immediately marching back to the Gym and demanding that Giovanni rematch me!"

"Are you sure? What happens if you get put back in the hospital?" Domino asked.

"Thanks for your concern, but I'll be very careful this time," Leaf responded. "It's just this time, I'm going to beat Giovanni and win that Earth Badge to qualify for the Kanto Pokémon League Tournament!"

"Then after your rematch, I'll have my rematch!" Jessie declared.

Leaf's eyes widened, a little shocked. "Wait, Jessie, you lost to him too?"

Jessie grits her teeth and looks down. "You're not going to believe this, but I had Giovanni with a huge lead. I had him down to one Pokémon with all of my six Pokémon still in play, but he came back and beat me with this one unknown mysterious Pokémon that my Pokédex couldn't even identify."

Meowth shakes a little. "It was so scary!"

"Wait a minute." Leaf starts describing what she knows that Jessie might be talking about. "Did this 'unknown mysterious Pokémon' have metal armor all over its body and was purple?"

Jessie immediately looks up towards Leaf with a shocked expression. "Yes! That's exactly it, Leaf! Are you telling me that this Giovanni person used that same Pokémon against you too in your Gym Battle against him?"

Leaf nods in response. "That Pokémon is the reason why I'm currently in the hospital."

The gang all gasped at what Leaf just said. "IT DID?!" They said altogether.

Leaf continues what she was saying. "I never saw such a strong Pokémon ever in my life as a Pokémon trainer. This Giovanni Gym Leader is gonna be one tough to beat."

Jessie gets an idea in her head. "Hey, I got an idea! How about you and I team up against Giovanni? Since we both can't beat Giovanni by ourselves, can we maybe beat him together?"

Leaf thinks for a little bit about the plan and nods. "I like the plan, but there's one problem with it, those guards. They only allow one trainer inside the Gym, so how are we both going to get in there?"

James crosses his arms and smirks. "You'll just leave that to me and Domino!"

Domino looks at James with a confused look. "What?"

James continues explaining. "Domino and I will distract those two guards just in time for the both of you to sneak into the Gym to challenge that Giovanni guy!"

"Hold on here, I didn't agree with this! What if those guards have the power to ban us from the city if they discover the plan?!" Domino asked.

"Come on Domino, can you please help us here?" Jessie begged. "Me and Leaf need that Gym Badge to get in the League Tournament!"

"And I can't do this on my own, Domino," James added.

Domino looks at Jessie, who is looking at her with puppy eyes, and then at James, also giving her the puppy eyes look. She looks down and sighs. "Fine, I'll help James distract the guards."

Jessie runs over to Domino and hugs her. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you so much!"

"Alright then, it's settled." Leaf turns to her rival. "Jessie… let's blow that Giovanni guy out of the water together!"

Jessie looks back at Leaf, she smiles and happily nods. "Yeah… let's do it!"

It cuts to the gang with Leaf hiding behind a building, looking at the Viridian Gym, watching the two guards.

"Okay, what's your guys' plan to get me and Leaf in the Gym?" Jessie asked Domino and James.

"Just watch and learn, Jess." James looks at Domino. "Let's do it, Domino."

Domino nods in response. "Right."

James and Domino come out of hiding and they walk up to the two guards at the entrance to the Gym.

"You two want to challenge the Gym Leader?" The guard assumed.

"Only one challenger is allowed to enter the Gym at a time, so one of you has to get lost and come back later!" The other guard says.

James and Domino both looked at each other as James and Domino kicked both of the guards right in the kneecap.

Both of the guards yelled out in pain as they grabbed their knees, both gritting their teeth at James and Domino. "Why you little shits, you just bought yourself a ticket to pain!" One of the guards threatened them.

"Now run!" James commanded Domino, as he and Domino sprinted off to escape with the two guards chasing them.

Leaf looks at Jessie. "Now's our chance! Let's go!"

Jessie nods in response, Meowth hops on her shoulder, as she takes off with Leaf. The two girls enter the Gym, taking advantage of the distraction from the two guards chasing her friends.

"We're in! I can't believe that worked!" Jessie says, cheerfully. "I owe James and Domino one after this."

"If they get beat up so badly by those guards, then yeah you do big time," Meowth says.

"Alright, let's focus more on the battle! Remember, this Gym Leader's got a powerful Pokémon and we need to focus on beating it!" Leaf stated.

Jessie nods in agreement. "Don't worry Leaf, I believe with our teamwork, we will earn our final eighth badge together!"

Jessie, with her Meowth, and Leaf arrive at the battlefield of the Viridian Gym. Giovanni was standing on the other side of the battlefield, waiting for his next challenger. He looks up and sees Jessie and Leaf approaching the other side of the battlefield.

"So… you two are back for more?" Giovanni smirks. "Which one of you I'm going to destroy again first in a battle?"

"Neither!" Jessie responded, gritting her teeth and clenching her fist. "Because me and Leaf are going to team up against you! Three of our Pokémon each versus your six Pokémon. Do we have a deal here?"

Giovanni chuckles. "And I thought the Gym Leader was supposed to make the rules and look at you, doing something different. How did you two even get in here anyways when only one trainer is allowed?"

"Sir!" The two guards appeared behind Jessie and Leaf, grabbing them, both girls started eyes widening in fear.

"I'm sorry, sir, but we will take one of them back outside." The other guard says. "Let's go, you two!"

"Dammit," Jessie said under her breath so only Leaf could hear.

As the two guards turn around to escort both girls out of the Gym, Giovanni stops them. "Stop, you two."

The two guards stopped and turned around. "Sir?"

"I'm quite interested in their challenge, they both want to be destroyed together by me. Three of their Pokémon each against my six Pokémon? That sounds like… fun." Giovanni grins. "Okay, I'll play by your rules, but only condition." He holds up one finger.

"What's that condition?" Jessie asked.

Giovanni points at Jessie "If I win, you will hand me your talking Meowth." Then he points at Leaf. "And then you will hand me your precious Eevee!"

"Wait! How do you know I have an Eevee?" Leaf questioned.

"Do you think I wouldn't know who's the winner of the Eeveevolution tournament back at Cinnabar Island?" Giovanni asked, rhetorically. "So, do we have a deal or will my guards start showing the both of you the way out?"

"NO WAY, JOSÉ!" Meowth screamed out then turned to his trainer. "Jessie, tell him no way!" Meowth sees that Jessie is discussing with Leaf and thinking about it, he falls in disbelief.

The scene cuts to the Team Rocket trio, who are secretly watching this conversation inside the Gym where they can't be seen.

"Look at the boss, taking a page out of our book!" Cassidy says in delight.

"I hope the boss kicks both of their asses hard!" Butch added with a grin.

"Actually, I would be cheering for the two twerpettes during this battle," Mondo admits.

Cassidy and Butch both look at Mondo with a glare. "Are you kidding me, Mondo?" Cassidy says in disbelief.

"Yeah! Are you some type of traitor or something?" Butch added, glaring.

"Whoa guys, hear me out!" Mondo starts explaining. "Look, if the pink hat twerpette beats the boss, it would make all of our past losses of stealing her talking Meowth look more reasonable and we won't get fired for a long time!"

Cassidy widens her eyes, expressing shock. "Wow! I've never thought of that before!" She goes back to watching this battle about to go underway, but cheering for Jessie this time. "Alright twerpette, don't let us down!"

"Yeah! Destroy the boss for us!" Butch added.

Mondo chuckles. "Mondo, you sure are such a genius." He said quietly to himself.

It cuts to Jessie and Leaf discussing the condition made by Giovanni. "Jessie, are you sure you want to put up our precious Pokémon on the line just for some Gym Badge?" Leaf questioned.

Jessie starts encouraging her rival. "Think about it, I'm not gonna be fighting for the badge, I'll be fighting to prove that Gym Leader is beatable, especially that mysterious Pokémon he has. Trust me, with our teamwork, Leaf, we can beat him!"

Leaf stares at Jessie for a few seconds before nodding in response. "You're right, we can do this!"

Giovanni starts becoming impatient. "Are we three battling or not?"

Jessie and Leaf both turn to face Giovanni and they both nod. "We accept!" They both speak together.

Giovanni grins and pulls out a Poké Ball. "Excellent! The first Pokémon I'll start with is Nidoqueen, I choose you!" Giovanni sends out his Nidoqueen to battle.

Nidoqueen materializes on the battlefield and roars into battle.

"You want to start the battle for us, Leaf?" Jessie asked.

Leaf nods in agreement and pulls out a Poké Ball. "Alakazam, I choose you!" She sends out Alakazam to battle.

Alakazam materializes on the battlefield. "Alakazam!"

Leaf starts the battle with the first move. "Alakazam, use Kinesis!"

"Alakazam!" Alakazam uses one of its spoons to levitate towards Nideoqueen and then proceeds to bend it in front of the Pokémon, as it looks amazed, lowering its accuracy by one stage.

Giovanni chuckles, oblivious to what Kinesis did. "Did you just waste your move, what did Kinesis do?"

Leaf smirks. "You will see!"

Jessie was watching this happening and thinking to herself. "Leaf is up to something."

"Whatever! Nidoqueen, use Body Slam!" Giovanni commanded.

Nidoqueen roars as she tries to grab Alakazam, but is too distracted by the bent spoon, Alakazam manages to dodge out of the way before Nidoqueen can grab it.

"What?!" Giovanni expressed in shock.

"You see, Kinesis lowered your Nidoqueen's accuracy just enough for my Alakazam to dodge! Now use Psybeam!"

Alakazam's spoon comes back to the Pokémon as Alakazam crosses its spoons and releases a multicolored beam from them at Nidoqueen, hitting the Pokémon as drill Pokémon roars in pain.

"Use Double Kick!" Giovanni commanded.

"Quick, Teleport to dodge it, Alakazam!" Leaf countered.

Nidoqueen roars, trying to kick Alakazam, but the Psi Pokémon manages to dodge it by teleporting, however, Alakazam just teleports behind Nidoqueen as the drill Pokémon quickly turns around and kicks Alakazam right in the head, dealing damage.

"No! Alakazam!" Leaf called out.

Giovanni grins. "Landing one kick is better than no kicks! And since you wasted your turn with Teleport, I can go again, Body Slam!"

Nidoqueen quickly grabs Alakazam, jumps up in the air, and slams Alakazam down hard to the ground, completely knocking Alakazam out of the battle.

Leaf grits her teeth and recalls Alakazam back in its Poké Ball. "You did great, Alakazam." She turns to Jessie. "Your turn, Jessie." She offers her hand to tag in.

Jessie nods and tags into the battle. She pulls out a Poké Ball. "Blastoise, I choose you!"

Blastoise materialized on the battlefield. "Blastoise!"

Giovanni commands the first move of the round. "Double Kick, Nidoqueen!"

Nidoqueen roars and starts dashing toward Blastoise.

"Blastoise, withdraw into your shell quickly!" Jessie countered.

Blastoise quickly withdraws into its shell as Nidoqueen kicks the shell twice, only dealing damage to itself as it screams in pain.

Jessie laughs. "How do you like them apples?"

Giovanni slowly claps. "Clever move, but not clever enough. Nidoqueen, Thunder!"

Jessie's eyes widened. "No way, your Nidoqueen can learn Thunder?!"

Electricity starts to build up in Nidoqueen and then it roars after blasting a huge bolt of electricity right at Blastoise. The move zaps and automatically knocks out Blastoise as it shows signs of fainting by not coming out of its shell.

"Come on Blastoise, withdraw out!" Jessie says, in denial, that Blastoise has fainted.

"Jessie… I think Blastoise is knocked out." Leaf says.

Jessie grits her teeth as she recalls Blastoise back in its Poké Ball. "Your turn, Leaf, that Nidoqueen of his is strong."

Leaf nods and tags herself in. "I know how to take care of that Nidoqueen!" She pulls out a Poké Ball. "Lapras, go!"

Lapras materialize on the battlefield. "La!"

Giovanni scoffs and shrugs. "Another Pokémon weak to electricity? Seems like you girls can't learn at all. Nidoqueen, Thunder!"

"Lapras, use Sing quickly before Nidoqueen uses Thunder!" Leaf countered.

As Nidoqueen starts building up electricity, Lapras quickly begins to sing at the drill Pokémon. "La! La! La! Laaaaaaa!"

Nidoqueen's eyes began to become heavy in the middle of Lapras' singing and then eventually fell asleep before the Pokémon could use Thunder.

"NO!" Giovanni yelled out in disbelief. "Nidoqueen, wake up now!"

Leaf chuckles. "I'm afraid that's not gonna work. Lapras, use Ice Beam to take out that Nidoqueen!"

"La!" Lapras opens its mouth as a light blue ball of energy forms in front of its mouth, then it shoots out a light blue beam of energy right at Nidoqueen hitting and knocking out the drill Pokémon out from the battle.

"And that's how I rule!" Leaf smirks.

Jessie smiles. "Way to go, Leaf! Do you want to tag me in, now?"

Leaf shakes her head in response. "No, I think I'm gonna keep Lapras in for a little bit!"

"Nidoqueen, return!" Giovanni recalls Nidoqueen back into its Poké Ball and then pulls out a different Poké Ball to send out. "Rhydon, crush that Lapras!"

Rhydon materializes on the battlefield and roars.

"Use Horn Drill!" Giovanni commanded.

Rhydon roars once more and its horn starts spinning like a drill as it dashes towards Lapras.

"Watch out, Leaf! Horn Drill is a one-shot move!" Jessie warned.

"Confuse Ray!" Leaf quickly countered.

Lapras' eyes glow a deep blue and as Rhydon looks at Lapras right in their eyes, the drill Pokémon becomes confused and trips as it is running towards Lapras and its horn quits moving like a drill.

Giovanni grits his teeth in frustration. "Rhydon, get up and use Mega Punch!"

Rhydon roars before its fists become surrounded in light blue energy, however, the confusion from the Confused Ray affects Rhydon as it ends up punching itself, knocking itself out.

"No way?! How did that happen?!" Giovanni asked in disbelief.

Leaf chuckles. "Confusion sucks, doesn't it?"

Jessie claps for her rival and continues cheerleading. "That's it Leaf, keep dominating this match with Lapras!"

It cuts to where Team Rocket trio is secretly watching the battle. "The twerpettes tied it back up with the boss, but the boss isn't going down that easy," Cassidy says.

Butch nods. "The boss is one of the toughest Gym Leaders and no one hasn't beaten him in a battle ever."

Mondo shrugs. "History might be made here!"

It cuts back to the Gym Battle of Jessie and Leaf versus Giovanni.

"The next Pokémon will be Kangaskhan!" Giovanni pulls out Kangaskhan and sends her out into battle.

Kangaskhan materializes on the battlefield. "Kanga!"

Giovanni smirks. "Let's see if you like the taste of your very own medicine! Kangaskhan, use Dizzy Punch!"

Leaf once more uses the strategy she had before. "Use Sing before Kangaskhan lands the move, Lapras!"

Kangaskhan immediately dashes straight at Lapras and the transport Pokémon opens its mouth to try to sing, but Kangaskhan gets there in time and punches Lapras hard right in the face causing the transport Pokémon to spin around in circles and be confused.

Leaf grits her teeth. "Now my Lapras is confused!"

"Your next move, Submission!" Giovanni commanded.

"Kanga!" Kangaskhan starts dashing towards Lapras while it curls into a ball, ready to hit it while rolling as a ball.

"Dodge it quickly, Lapras!" Leaf countered.

Lapras somehow manages to move out of the way of Kangaskhan's Submission despite the fact of being confused.

"Hydro Pump!" Leaf commanded.

"La!" Lapras opens its mouth and releases flows of water from it, unfortunately, the transport Pokémon aims up from confusion and the water flows back down, hitting itself.

Giovanni laughs. "How do you like it when it happens to you? Use Submission once more, Kangaskhan!"

"Kanga!" Kangaskhan dashes towards Lapras and curls into a ball, this time the parent Pokémon hits Lapras with Submission, causing the transport Pokémon to faint in battle.

Leaf frustratedly grits her teeth. "Lapras, return!" She recalls her Lapras back in its Pokémon then turns to her rival. "Jessie, your turn."

Jessie nods, tagging herself in, then pulling out a Poké Ball. "Electabuzz, I choose you!"

Electabuzz materializes. "ELEBUBUBU!"

Giovanni decides to command the first move of the round. "Let's make your little Electabuzz confused too! Kangaskhan, use Dizzy Punch!"

Jessie quickly tries to counter. "Oh no you don't! Electabuzz, counter that punch with your very own punch, Thunder Punch!"

"Kanga!" "ELEBUBUBU!" Both Kangaskhan and Electabuzz both start to charge up their fists. Kangaskhan with force and Electabuzz with electricity. The two Pokémon dash toward each other and both of their punches collide, however, the force in Kangaskhan's punch causes Electabuzz to be confused and the electricity built up in Electabuzz's fist causes Kangaskhan to be paralyzed.

Both Giovanni and Jessie had the same reaction. "WHAT?!"

The Team Rocket trio reacts to what just happened in that turn. "Kangaskhan's Dizzy punch caused Electabuzz to be confused and Electabuzz's Thunder Punch caused Kangaskhan to be paralyzed!" Cassidy stated.

"I would make a pun, but I can't think of a punchline." Mondo chuckles at his joke to himself.

Butch rolls his eyes in response. "Really funny, Mondo…"

It cuts back to the Gym Battle between Kangaskhan and Electabuzz, with Kangaskhan being paralyzed and Electabuzz being confused.

"Kangaskhan, use Mega Punch!" Giovanni quickly commands.

Kangaskhan tries to charge up her fist but the paralyzed affects the parent Pokémon, wasting Giovanni's turn as he grits his teeth in frustration.

Jessie will try to give it a go despite Electabuzz being confused. "Electabuzz, Thunder!"

"Elebububu?" Electabuzz scratches its head from confusion, sending a tiny bolt of electricity on the ground, zapping itself in damage.

Jessie sighs and looks down. "Can you not zap yourself, please?"

"Enough games! Kangaskhan, use Bite!" Giovanni commanded in a frustrated tone.

Kangaskhan dashes at Electabuzz and she bites down the two antennas on Electabuzz's head. Electabuzz cries out in pain from the bite.

However, Jessie smirks instead. "Out of all the places you could bite Electabuzz, Kangaskhan went with the perfect spot for me! Alright Electabuzz, Thunder!"

"ELEBUBUBU!" Electabuzz's antenna on its head gets charged up with electricity and Kangashkan's mouth gets blasted with electricity as the parent Pokémon immediately lets go, falls, and faints in battle.

Leaf laughs and cheers up Jessie. "Nice job, Jessie!"

Giovanni begins to speak in his mind. "These trainers… they're taking me down with this dumb power of teamwork? No, I can't let them do this!" He recalls Kangaskhan back in its Poké Ball and pulls out a different one. "Dugtrio, you're next!"

Dugtrio materializes on the battlefield. "Trio! Trio Trio!"

Jessie's eyes widened. "Oh no… Electabuzz can't hit a ground type like Dugtrio…" She says in her mind.

"Jessie, do you want to switch?" Leaf asked. "Because I don't think your Electabuzz can match up against his Dugtrio!"

Jessie continues talking in her mind. "Wait… I got an idea to make this easier for Leaf, but it requires sacrificing Electabuzz." She then turns to Leaf to answer her question. "Don't worry Leaf, I got this!" Jessie gives her a thumbs up.

Giovanni smirks. "Dugtrio, use Dig!"

"Trio! Trio! Trio!" Dugtrio digs itself underground as Electabuzz looks around in confusion.

Jessie gasps. "Oh no! I forgot about that move, Dig! I can't plan out my strategy if Dugtrio is underground. I gotta think of something, fast!" She says in her mind until she gets an idea. "Electabuzz, use Double Team!"

"ELEBUBUBU!" Electabuzz makes multiple illusions of itself, surrounding the battlefield.

Giovanni growls in frustration. "How's Dugtrio going to know which one is the real Electabuzz?!"

Jessie smirks and chuckles. "I guess you better hope your Dugtrio is a great guesser!"

The ground shakes for a little bit as Dugtrio pops up from the ground to strike one of the Electabuzz on the battlefield, only to hit a dud as the illusion disappears and soon the rest of the illusions do.

"Dugtrio, end this now, use Earthquake!" Giovanni commanded in a frustrated tone.

"Trio!" Dugtrio starts going down to the ground and then back up to the surface repeatedly and fast, causing an Earthquake around the battlefield as Electabuzz cries out in major pain.

"Hang in there Electabuzz and use Screech!" Jessie commanded.

Electabuzz lets out a powerful screech right at Dugtrio. "ELEBUBUBU!" Dugtrio shivers a little as its defense goes down.

"Dugtrio, use Earthquake again! Finish that electric tiger this time!" Giovanni ordered.

Jessie tries to tell Electabuzz to take the Earthquake and be still able to fight. "Electabuzz, keep going, I know you can stay strong!"

Once more Dugtrio starts going down to the ground and then back up on the surface repeatedly with extreme speed, causing the battlefield to shake as Electabuzz cries out in pain even louder from the super-effective move. Electabuzz is slowly breathing but is still able to fight. "Elebububu…"

Giovanni's eyes widen and grits his teeth in anger from seeing Jessie's Electabuzz still able to battle. "How is your Electabuzz still able to fight after two super-effective Earthquakes?!"

"Because I believe in Electabuzz and I'll show you that an electric type can beat a ground type just not the way you think! Electabuzz, use Screech once more!" Jessie commanded again.

Electabuzz takes a deep breath and lets out one powerful screech again right at Dugtrio. "ELEBUBUBU!" This causes DUGTRIO'S defense to lower two stages again.

Giovanni clutches his in frustration. "Dugtrio, another Earthquake! Make that Electabuzz suffer!"

Jessie looks at Electabuzz with determination on her face. "I know you can take one more Earthquake, Electabuzz, I believe in you from my heart!"

For the third time, Dugtrio causes the whole battlefield to shake by going down to the ground and then back up on the surface repeatedly with extreme speed. Electabuzz falls onto the ground from intense pain.

Jessie gasps from the shock of seeing Electabuzz go down. "Electabuzz, no!"

Giovanni grins. "It's all over for your little electric friend, little girl!"

Leaf frowns from watching Electabuzz go down. "I guess it couldn't take one more Earthquake."

However, Electabuzz starts moving off the ground slowly, causing Jessie, Leaf, and Giovanni to be shocked. "WHAT?! NO WAY!" Giovanni yelled out in anger, from seeing Electabuzz get up from the ground from another Earthquake.

Jessie looks down with a smile, shedding a tear. "I know you could've done it, Electabuzz. Now give me your most powerful screech right at Dugtrio!"

Electabuzz takes a deep breath before releasing its most powerful screech right at Dugtrio. "ELEBUBUBUBUBU!" Dugtrio's defense lowers down to the max after that powerful screech.

Giovanni is easily seen getting frustrated. "I have enough of this! Dugtrio, use Tri-Attack and take out Electabuzz NOW!"

"Trio!" Dugtrio starts spinning around, and then an orb of yellow electric energy, light blue ice energy, and orange fire energy forms around Dugtrio. Each of the heads then fires an electric, ice, and fire attack, from each ball respectively at Electabuzz. Once Electabuzz gets hit by the Tri-Attack, the electric Pokémon goes down and for good this time, fainting in battle.

Giovanni lets out the biggest sigh of relief. "FINALLY! Your Electabuzz is gone! Which means your electric type couldn't beat my ground type at all, proving you wrong!"

However, Jessie has a smirk on her face, crossing her arms. "Are you sure? After three Earthquakes, my Electabuzz was still able to fight and you ended my Electabuzz with a normal type move, not a ground type! And Leaf is going to prove what I actually meant by my Electabuzz beating your ground type, Dugtrio!"

Leaf nods and tags herself in. "On it!" She steps up to the battlefield, Poké Ball in hand.

The Team Rocket trio is still watching the battle secretly from after. Cassidy and Butch look confused about what's happening. "What does the twerpette mean by that?" Cassidy asked.

"I have no idea, I'm just busy watching this hell of a battle!" Butch responded.

Mondo thinks about it for a little bit. "It probably has something to do with those Screeches that the twerpette told her electric tiger to do on Dugtrio!"

It cuts back to the Gym battle as Leaf sends out her next Pokémon onto the battlefield. "Eevee, you're up next!"

Eevee materializes. "Eevee!"

Giovanni grins at the sight of Eevee. "Ah yes, your little Eevee. It's going to be so valuable once it's in my possession!"

Eevee looks a little scared and backs up a little. "Eevee…"

Leaf grits her teeth and clutches her fist. "In your dreams! Eevee, use Quick Attack!"

Eevee dashes at Dugtrio and attacks the Pokémon with its fast speed. However, to Giovanni's shock, Dugtrio immediately faints from the battle after just one Quick Attack from Eevee.

"WHAT?!" Giovanni yelled out in shock. "How did my Dugtrio just go down with one Quick Attack?!"

Jessie spoke up to explain what happened. "You really think I was just telling my Electabuzz to repeatedly use Screech to show off its yell? You're wrong, those three Screeches that my Electabuzz inflected took your Dugtrio's defense so low that one attack can end it! And that's how my electric type defeated your ground type, Giovanni!"

Leaf looks back at Jessie with a smile on her face. "That was an awesome strategy, Jessie!"

"Now's not the time for compliments, you need to focus on Giovanni's next Pokémon," Jessie says.

"Right!" Leaf turns back around, facing Giovanni with determination in her eyes.

Giovanni starts talking inside his mind. "No wonder why those three buffoons keep losing to that brat trainer with the talking Meowth, she's smarter than an average trainer on the battlefield." He recalls Dugtrio back in its Poké Ball. "Dugtrio, return!"

"You know with the pink hat twerpette acting smart and strong in this battle, this looks very good on us for losing to her every time," Cassidy stated.

Butch and Mondo both nod in agreement. "Yep." They both said.

Giovanni sends out his next Pokémon onto the battlefield. "Golem, you're up!"

Golem materializes. "Golem!"

Leaf commands the first move of the round. "Eevee, use Quick Attack!"

Giovanni quickly counters. "Defense Curl quick!"

Eevee dashes at Golem, trying to attack the megaton Pokémon quickly, but Golem manages to pull its arms and legs into its shell, and hides its head, curling itself into a ball to protect itself, so Eevee dashes right at the hard part of Golem's shell. "Eevee!" Eevee cries out in pain from hitting the shell hard.

Leaf grits her teeth and starts to think to herself. "I need a move that could get Golem out of its shell."

While Leaf was thinking to herself, Giovanni commands his next move from the distraction. "Golem, Rollout!"

While still curled up in a ball, Golem starts rolling towards Eevee, causing Leaf to quickly realize. "AH! Eevee, use Iron Tail!" She quickly counters.

Eevee's tail starts glowing white, it becomes metallic and the Pokémon quickly hits Golem with its metallic tail as Golem was rolling towards Eevee, sending the megaton Pokémon rolling towards the wall and hitting it, hard. Golem slowly uncurls itself and looks exhausted.

Leaf chuckles. "Nice try and you thought!"

Giovanni grits his teeth in anger, before realizing and now has a smile on his face, talking in his mind. "Don't worry, these fools won't be smiling long enough after I send my last Pokémon in."

Leaf commands her next move. "Take Down!"

Giovanni quickly counters by commanding his move. "Dodge it and use Rock Throw!"

Eevee charges toward Golem, but the megaton Pokémon dodges by sidestepping, and then Golem throws itself right at Eevee, trying to crush it, but Eevee also dodges the move by side-stepping as well. Eevee keeps charging towards Golem, trying to use Take Down, but Golem keeps side-stepping and side-stepping to avoid the move, while at the same time, Golem keeps throwing itself towards Eevee, but the evolution Pokémon also keeps dodging by side-stepping.

"Wow! Look at these Pokémon dodging after dodging!" Cassidy says, impressed.

"This round could go either way if one of these Pokémon screws up!" Butch added.

"I wonder who's gonna come on top?" Mondo asked, also impressed from watching this battle as well with his partners-in-crime.

Soon after Golem and Eevee kept dodging, both Pokémon stood there on the battlefield staring directly at each other and breathing heavily.

Giovanni has a grin on his face, thinking of a plan. "I think it's time for this round to end and head on to the main event of this Gym battle!"

Leaf raises an eyebrow in confusion. "What do you mean?"

Giovanni snaps his fingers, commanding his next move. "Golem, use Explosion!"

Both Leaf and Jessie's eyes widened. "OH NO!" They both screamed out.

Golem starts glowing white and then it completely explodes as Eevee gets caught in the explosion from being on the battlefield and dust surrounding the battlefield. Once the dust clears, both Golem and Eevee are seen knocked out on the battlefield.

"Golem, return!" "Eevee, return!" Both Giovanni and Leaf recall both of their Pokémon back in their Poké Ball.

Leaf turns around and tags Jessie in. "Well… it looks like it's all up to you and Meowth, Jessie."

Jessie nods and looks at Meowth. "Ready, Meowth."

Meowth gulps, knowing what Pokémon is next, but nods. "Ready!" He hops onto the battlefield, talking to himself in his mind. "Alright Meowth, I can do this! I can do this! I just got to believe in myself even up against a very strong Pokémon."

Giovanni looks at the talking Pokémon with a satisfied look. "Ah yes, that famous talking Meowth is up to battle. I can't wait to have you when I beat you in this Gym battle!"

"You're never gonna get me, you loser!" Meowth shouted.

Giovanni scoffs. "No, my friend, you will be the one that's gonna lose again to my powerful creature!" He snaps his fingers.

Soon Giovanni snaps his fingers, the hidden door opens as the mysterious Pokémon, covered up in cybernetic armor that Leaf and Jessie fought yesterday, levitates onto the battlefield as its eyes glow blue through the mask.

"Yesterday, my powerful creature took out every single one of your Pokémon, but since this time you both are only down to one Pokémon, this is the end, my friends." Giovanni laughs.

Jessie grits her teeth before shouting something back at Giovanni. "No it's not, Meowth will find a way to beat your beast! Meowth, use Slash!"

Meowth's claws extend and glow white, dashing toward the mysterious Pokémon about to slash it.

Giovanni was still grinning as he commanded his next move. "Barrier!"

The powerful creature raises its hand and creates a purple energy barrier around itself as Meowth hits the barrier and gets flung back onto the ground. "Ow!" He yelled out in pain.

As the purple energy barrier disappears, the mysterious Pokémon raises its hand once more, but this time, a blue aura starts glowing around Meowth and then Meowth starts levitating off the ground.

"What's happening here?!" Meowth starts to panic, but then he is sent back hard and hits the battlefield wall, taking damage.

"MEOWTH!" Jessie yelled out.

Meowth slowly gets up, still able to battle. "I'm okay!"

Giovanni immediately commands his next move. "Dynamic Punch!"

The powerful beast's fist starts glowing white, dashing towards Meowth, about to punch the talking Pokémon with its full power.

"MEOWTH, DODGE IT QUICK!" Jessie quickly counters.

Meowth sees the mysterious Pokémon dashing towards him. "YIKES!" He quickly side-jumps to his right and avoids the Dynamic Punch as the mysterious Pokémon ends up punching the wall hard, leaving a mark on it. When the powerful beast retreats its arm, blue static around the cybernetic armor starts surrounding its fist, signaling the armor on its arm took damage from punching the wall.

Leaf looks at Jessie with a worried expression. "Jessie, I don't think you can beat this monster with Meowth. It's just too strong!"

Jessie notices the blue static surrounding the cybernetic armor on the creature's arm and gets an idea. "No Leaf, I think I found a way to defeat it, maybe." She calls out her next move to Meowth. "Alright Meowth, stand right behind another area of the battlefield wall!"

Meowth looks at his trainer with a disbelieving look. "You're not going to command me to attack this freak of nature?!"

"Just trust me!" Jessie replied.

Meowth does what Jessie ordered and stands behind another area of the wall. "Okay, what now?"

Jessie turns her attention towards Giovanni. "Hey Giovanni, my Meowth is so fast that I bet you will never land a Dynamic Punch on him with your powerful creature!"

Giovanni has an annoyed expression on his face. "I love destroying confidence trainers… Dynamic Punch again!"

Once more the mysterious Pokémon's fist started glowing white, it was the same fist from before as it dashed towards Meowth, about to punch the talking Pokémon with its full power again.

Jessie orders Meowth to dodge again. "Dodge the move again with your speed, Meowth!"

Meowth was able to dodge the Dynamic Punch again by quickly side-jumping, causing the mysterious creature to punch the wall once more with its full power. But this time, more blue static starts to surround the cybernetic armor on its arm, the mysterious Pokémon looks at its right cybernetic arm before it completely breaks off as the powerful beast gets badly electrocuted, taking major damage.

Giovanni was sipping his coffee mug, before realizing what happened and spitting it out in disbelief. "WHAT?!"

Jessie starts thinking to herself. "Bingo! That's the weakness, that creature's armor, if I could break it all off, I can possibly defeat this thing!" Jessie commands her next move out loud. "Meowth, use Fury Swipes but aim for its right armored leg!"

"Got it!" Meowth quickly dashes towards the beast's cybernetic armored leg and starts swiping it over and over with its sharp claws, damaging it badly. Once Meowth sees blue static, he quickly retreats as the right cybernetic armored leg breaks off, sending another painful electrocuted shock right to the powerful creature, taking more damage.

Giovanni, Leaf, and the Team Rocket trio couldn't believe what they were seeing. "No way, that brat found a weakness!" "Jessie found a weakness!" "That twerpette found a weakness!"

Giovanni starts to think to himself. "I need to shield my creature's cybernetic armor from that hairball." He commands his next move out loud. "Now use Barrier!"

The powerful beast raises its left hand, where its other cybernetic armor arm is still on, and creates a purple energy barrier around itself to protect from attacks.

"What's your next move now?" Giovanni smirks.

"Easy, Meowth don't do anything," Jessie replied.

"Umm… okay." Meowth stands there, looking at the energy barrier surrounding the creature.

Giovanni's grin fades away to confusion. "What? What are you doing?!"

Jessie replies to Giovanni's question while crossing her arms. "Since your little barrier prevents attacks from entering, it also prevents your attacks from hitting Meowth too! Which means you can only attack if you make that barrier disappear!"

Giovanni growls. "Now my powerful beast, grab that little Meowth and send it back flying to the wall with a Psychic attack!"

The purple energy barrier disappears as the creature picks up Meowth with its left cybernetic armored arm by the neck as Meowth starts gasping for air. "C-can't breathe!" The talking Pokémon starts getting surrounded by a blue aura, almost getting sent back flying.

Jessie immediately counters with her move to damage more of the armor. "MEOWTH, QUICK USE BITE ON ITS ARMORED ARM!"

Meowth bites down on the cybernetic arm of the creature that was choking him out. The mysterious Pokémon quickly lets go of the talking Pokémon as its left arm's cybernetic armor starts surrounded by blue static. Meowth quickly runs on all fours to the other side before the cybernetic armor breaks off, causing another painful electrocution to the powerful beast.

"NO! STOP IT YOU LITTLE BRAT!" Giovanni screamed out in frustration.

Jessie immediately sees the opportunity and takes it by seeing how exhausted the mysterious Pokémon is looking. "Now's your chance Meowth, Fury Swipes on the other armored leg!"

Meowth quickly dashes towards the left cybernetic leg of the creature and starts clawing it over and over, damaging it.

"What are you doing?! Get that little hairball off your leg now!" Giovanni ordered in a frustrated tone.

The powerful beast tries to shake Meowth off of its leg, but Meowth still holds on and claws its cybernetic leg over and over. The creature finally gets Meowth off, sending him in the air, but blue static starts surrendering the cybernetic leg and it breaks off. After getting electrocuted again, the beast looks weak as it falls onto one knee.

"Now all that is left is that helmet!" Jessie says quietly to herself.

Giovanni starts panicking and starts to not think straight as he accidentally makes a mistake with the next move that he commands to his Pokémon. "Shadow Ball!"

The mysterious Pokémon forms a black ball of energy from between its hands and then shoots it at Meowth. Meowth braces for impact as Jessie just stands there not commanding her telling Meowth to dodge or anything.

"You're not gonna command your Meowth to dodge it or something?" Giovanni asked and then chuckled.

Jessie replied with a smirk on her face. "I don't need to!"

The Shadow Ball goes through Meowth, not affecting the talking Pokémon at all. Meowth slowly opens its eyes and realizes he's fine. "Hey, I'm not hurt at all!"

"You completely forgot that ghost-type moves can't affect a normal type like Meowth, right?" Jessie says to Giovanni with a smirk.

"No! I was in such a panic that I completely forgot!" Giovanni slams his fist right on the ground in frustration.

"Now it's time for your beast to get the shock of a lifetime! Meowth, Thunderbolt, and aim for the helmet!" Jessie commanded with a point.

"You got it!" Meowth says as electricity starts surrounding the Pokémon entirely and then fires a bolt of yellow lightning from its body at the cybernetic helmet of the creature. The mysterious Pokémon is heard yelling in pain from the electricity. The helmet soon starts getting surrounded by blue static, breaking off, revealing the complete identity of the Pokémon as it's now screaming in more pain from getting double electrocuted by the cybernetic armor and Meowth's Thunderbolt. Once it stops, the powerful Pokémon looks weak and tired, taking deep breaths.

"The identity is revealed! Maybe Dexter can identify it this time!" Jessie immediately pulls out her Pokédex and aims it at the Pokémon across from her.

"Mewtwo, the Genetic Pokémon, a Psychic type. It was created by a scientist after years of horrific gene splicing and DNA engineering experiments."

"So that was the mysterious Pokémon all this time! It was the very powerful legendary Pokémon, Mewtwo!" Leaf pointed out.

Jessie's eyes widened from seeing a legendary Pokémon. "Whoa, a legendary Pokémon!"

Giovanni grits his teeth in anger. "Now Mewtwo, and that Meowth with a Dynamic Punch!"

However Mewtwo just stood there, the Pokémon was in so much pain and was seen taking deep breaths from exhaustion.

"What are you doing, Mewtwo?! Attack now!" Giovanni demanded.

With a stare down between Meowth and Mewtwo, the genetic Pokémon closes its eyes as it slowly drops onto the ground of the battlefield, officially fainting from the battle.

Giovanni also falls down on the ground as well in disbelief of what just happened. "NO!"

Leaf couldn't believe her eyes as Jessie defeated the powerful Mewtwo. "YOU DID IT, JESSIE, YOU DID IT!"

Jessie was staring at Mewtwo on the ground, and couldn't believe it as well. "I did it… I did it! I DID IT!" She jumps up in the air out of excitement as Meowth and Leaf both hug Jessie and celebrate with her.

The Team Rocket trio was also in shock that Jessie came up on top, but happy at the same time. "The Twerpette actually did it!" Cassidy says.

"WOOHOO!" The Team Rocket trio all high-fiving each other and celebrating with themselves knowing that their jobs are safe.

Giovanni grumbles as he gets back to walk towards Jessie and Leaf, holding out two Earth Badges in his hands. "Here, both of you take this Earth Badge to prove your victories in the Viridian Gym."

Jessie and Leaf both accepted the Earth Badge as they looked at each other and nodded. "We both got… the Earth Badge!" They both said and posed together with their newly acquired Earth Badges.

As Jessie, Meowth, and Leaf are heading towards the exit, Jessie looks at the Earth Badge and notices it is shaped like a leaf, then looks at her rival. "Hey Leaf, this Gym Badge is shaped like an actual leaf, it totally fits you!"

Leaf also now notices and laughs. "Yeah, you're right!"

As both Jessie and Leaf leave the Gym, Giovanni looks at the ground in defeat, until he hears a familiar voice behind him. "So… the Meowth can talk and is very valuable and strong after all, huh?" Cassidy said as the trio came out of hiding to reveal themselves to the boss.

Giovanni stands up and turns around to face the trio as he nods in response. "I want you three to make it your life's mission to steal that talking Meowth right from that trainer. Do not stop at nothing until it's in your possession!"

The Team Rocket trio smirks as they nod in response. "Yes, sir!" Cassidy looks at her partners-in-crime. "Let's go and steal that Meowth once and for all, guys!"

Both Butch and Mondo cheer, pumping their fist in the air. "Let's do it!" They both cheered out happily and then the trio dashed towards the exit to go follow Jessie.

It cuts to the outside of the streets of Viridian City, Jessie, with Meowth on her shoulder, and Leaf, both looking at their badges, until familiar voices stop them dead in their tracks. "Jessie!" "Leaf!" It was Domino and James running towards them. Jessie and Leaf both smiled and waved hello as Domino and James soon caught up to the two.

"Wait, how did you two escape from the two guards without harm?" Meowth asked.

"I knew the perfect hiding spot, those guards didn't think to look there at all. Pretty clever huh, Domino?" James confidently says with a smirk.

Domino ignores James and focuses more on the two rivals. "Did you both do it, did you both win?!" She asked.

Jessie and Leaf look at each other before showing their Earth Badges to them. "We did!" They both said.

"That's awesome! Now you two can enter the Kanto League Tournament!" James stated.

Leaf nods. "Yep! Which I'm going to win obviously!" She confidently smirks to herself.

Jessie immediately turns towards her rival with an annoyed expression. "Yeah right, because I'm going to be the one to win!"

"Okay, you want to prove it? Jessie, there's something that we haven't gotten to do yet because we got distracted before doing so and that's a battle. I challenge you to a full six-on-six Pokémon battle on Route 22, to warm up before the big league tournament! Do you accept my challenge?"

Jessie clutches her fist together. "Hell yeah, I accept your challenge! However, we should head to the Pokémon Center first to heal our Pokémon."

Leaf realizes and rubs her head embarrassingly. "Right, of course…"

It cuts to Route 22 after Jessie and Leaf healed their Pokémon up from the Pokémon Center with Domino and James watching on the sidelines, and Meowth next to Jessie, the two rivals have a complete staredown as Jessie and Leaf are about to have their full six-on-six battle.

"The battle that we were all waiting to happen. Jessie vs. Leaf, six-on-six Pokémon battle. Which Pallet Town trainer is going to come on top? Will it be Jessie with her Meowth or Leaf with her Eevee? Find out next time as the journey continues!"
