Friend or Foe Pokémon?

The episode starts with the view of Viridian City at night time, then it shows three Team Rocket grunts snooping around a Hallway of, what looks like, the Viridian Gym, with one of them having a flashlight and guiding the other two members.

"Why are we exploring Giovanni's secret base again?" One of the grunts asked.

"Because Giovanni is keeping secrets from us and I want to find out on my own that's why." The other grunt with the flashlight answered.

The third grunt looks worried. "But if the boss catches us in here, we're fired for sure!"

"Well maybe if you guys shut up, we won't get caught at all. Now shush!" The grunt with the flashlight continues guiding the two other grunts.

After a few seconds of walking, the three grunts stumbled upon a door with a passcode. "Is this the door we're looking for, the one with the passcode?" The second grunt asked.

"Yep! I should have the code written here on a napkin in my pocket." The first grunt with the flashlight starts digging in his pockets and pulls out the napkin that contains the passcode. "Here we go!" The first grunt walks towards the passcode and starts typing it in while looking at the napkin. "Let's see here… eight, three, six, nine, nine, and four."

The passcode lit green and the door started opening. "Welcome, Giovanni." The voice of an artificial intelligence was heard.

"Bingo!" The first grunt grins.

"How did you find the passcode?" The third grunt asked.

"Oh, I memorized it when I saw the code written on a sticky note on Giovanni's desk when I was getting scolded for failing an important mission." The first grunt answered. "Now follow me." The first grunt enters the room as the two other grunts follow behind them.

The three Team Rocket grunts start looking around the secret room for any secrets hidden by Giovanni, but no one hasn't found anything yet.

"This is useless! You're telling me Giovanni is not hiding anything from us?" The first grunt said in frustration.

Then the three grunts noticed something in the distance as the first grunt shone their flashlight towards it. It was the legendary and cloned Pokémon, Mewtwo, who was strapped with wires and a collar also strapped around their neck, lighting a red color.

The title screen shows.

"Friend or Foe Pokémon?"

"Did we just hit the jackpot?!" The second grunt exclaimed.

The first grunt shushes the second grunt. "Be quiet. You don't want the alarms to go off and lose your job, right? Now help me find the control to remove these wires."

The three Team Rocket grunts start looking around to find a way to turn off the wires that are strapped around Mewtwo, after a few seconds of failure, the third grunt notices a button on the side of the control collar. "Maybe this will do it?" The grunt clicks the button on the collar and the red color displayed on the collar turns blue.

Once the collar turns blue, Mewtwo's voice is heard. "Finally… I am free." Their eyes shot open causing the three Team Rocket grunts to jump back from fear. Mewtwo easily breaks the wires and then the collar as they start levitating over the three grunts.

"Wh-what did you just do?!" The second grunt looks directly at the third grunt.

"I-I thought it was the button to release the wires!" The third grunt defended himself.

The first grunt takes a step toward Mewtwo, bravely. "Since we released you, I believe you owe us a favor now."

Mewtwo starts communicating with the three grunts telepathically. "I don't owe you anything. You humans will pay for betraying my trust and forcefully making me you all's servants." Mewtwo's eyes begin glowing red.

The second grunt looks at the first grunt with a worried expression. "We should get out of here!" The second and third grunt turn around and start running away. The first grunt grits his teeth before also joining them in running, but the three were surrounded by a red aura and they automatically were frozen and couldn't move. "I-I can't move!"

Behind the three grunts was Mewtwo dashing towards them as the three grunts let out a horrific scream and then the scene ends there and it cuts to the sun shining about the sky with Jessie and her friends arriving at Pallet Town.

"After a day has gone by, our heroes have finally reached Jessie's hometown, Pallet Town!"

"I'm home, I'm finally back home!" Jessie pumps her fist in excitement.

"Pallet Town still looks as beautiful as ever." Domino looks down at her Azurill. "Don't you agree, Azurill?"

Azurill nods and cheerfully cries out happily. "Azurill!"

"I needed a rest anyway, all of this adventuring stuff has gotten this Meowth very tired. We should visit your house with your mother, Jess." Meowth suggested.

"Hold on now. We should visit Professor Oak first in his lab." James also suggested.

"I don't care what option you choose, Jessie, I'm just going to follow along," Domino stated.

Jessie thinks for a little bit before answering. "Let's visit my mom's house, I want to see that cool silver trophy in my room!"

The scene cuts to the gang arriving at Jessie's house, but there's a note taped on the door which confuses the gang. Jessie walks over to the note, grabs it, and reads it. "'I went grocery shopping in Viridian City, will be back in a few.'"

"Well, I guess that makes that answer easier," James says with a grin.

"Yeah, I guess we're heading to Grandpa Oak's lab," Meowth confirmed.

The scene now cuts to the gang arriving outside of Professor Oak's lab as Jessie knocks on the door. A few seconds pass and Professor Oak answers it. "Oh! Jessie, Domino, and James! It's nice to see you three!"

"Hey, Professor Oak!" The gang said all together at the same time.

"Please come in!" Professor Oak offers the gang inside his lab and the gang happily steps inside. The scene cuts to the living room, where the gang and Professor are seated on sofas and having a discussion. "Jessie, I see your bond with Meowth is much stronger than before!"

"Yeah!" Jessie starts petting her Meowth. "We didn't win the league tournament but we managed to make it to the finals!"

"Don't forget that you made it to the league tournament on your very first league tournament. I have to say, Jessie, I see potential in you that you can become a very strong trainer!" Professor Oak says.

"Oh wow! I-I don't know what to say." Jessie embarrassingly rubs the back of her head.

Professor Oak's assistant, Aaliyah, passes by and decides to joke for a little bit. "He also said that to her granddaughter, Leaf, too by the way." She chuckles and leaves the living room.

Professor Oak blushes, looking at where Aaliyah left. "Aaliyah! That was uncalled for!" He then looks back at the gang. "Sorry Jessie, you and Leaf have the potential to become very strong trainers."

Jessie chuckles. "It's okay, Professor. The last time me and Leaf battled, she beat me. So if we actually faced each other in the Kanto League Tournament, I would feel like she would beat me again and eliminate me."

"Speaking of Leaf, where is your granddaughter anyways, Professor Oak?" James asked.

"Leaf set sailed to Johto!" Professor Oak answered.

"SHE DID?!" The gang all shouted in shock.

"Yep! As soon as Jessie lost the league tournament to Lawson, Leaf immediately backed her bags and headed to Johto." Professor Oak explained.

"Oh…" Jessie looks down. "It would've been nice if she waited for a little bit to say goodbye to me. We could've even arrived in Johto together."

"I guess Leaf was so excited exploring a different region that she immediately left." Professor Oak apologizes to Jessie. "Sorry, Jessie."

"Cheer up, Jess. We're gonna head to that Johto region, right?" Meowth says.

Jessie looks at Meowth with a smile and nods. "Right! Although we're going to have to wait for a day, so I can pack my stuff and get ready. I also have to say goodbye to my mom too."

All of a sudden, Azurill's eyes flash red. The baby blue mouse Pokémon starts expressing an angry look. Azurill cries out and tries struggling to get out of Domino's arms. "Azurill! Azurill! Azurill!"

Everyone looks at Azurill with confused looks. "Azurill? Why are your eyes? Are you okay?" Domino asked.

Azurill looks at Domino, opens its mouth, and releases bubbles right into her eyes. "OW! MY EYES!" This causes Domino to let go as she covers her eyes in pain.

"DOMINO!" Everyone else shouted as they ran towards Domino for aid.

Domino looks at Azurill with a tear in her eye. "Azurill… why?"

Azurill responds with more anger. "Azurill! Azurill! Azurill!"

"What is wrong with Azurill?" James says, raising his eyebrow.

Meowth confronts Azurill with a mad expression. "Alright, Azurill. What's the big idea here?!"

Once more, Azurill responds with anger. "Azurill! Azurill! Azurill!"

This causes Meowth to widen his eyes in shock as he can understand what Azurill is saying. "Wh-what?"

"What did Azurill say, Meowth?" Jessie asked.

Meowth translates what Azurill just said. "Azurill said; 'All humans are evil!' And they repeat it two more times."

"WHAT?!" The gang and Professor Oak all gasp in shock as they immediately pay their attention to Azurill. "Azurill, what are you saying?!" James asked from his shock.

Azurill replied in anger once more. "Azurill! Azurill! Azurill!" The baby blue mouse Pokémon then shoots bubbles towards James.

"EEP!" James immediately hides behind the couch, avoiding Azurill's bubble.

"Azurill said the same thing repeatedly; 'All humans are evil' three times." Meowth translated once more.

"That's it! Azurill, you're in timeout!" Domino pulls out Azurill's Poké Ball and recalls her baby Pokémon to its Poké Ball. She then stares at Azurill's Poké Ball with a sad expression. "I-I can't believe Azurill would just attack me like that and say humans are evil."

James peeks out from the couch, seeing Azurill is gone, and stops hiding. "And attack me too."

Jessie turns to Professor Oak. "Professor, this hasn't happened before at all."

Professor Oak starts thinking. "That's odd. One second, Azurill looked so happy, and then it just started glowing red eyes and becoming angry. That shouldn't be normal at all."

The gang and Professor Oak hear a knock on the door as they all head to the door and Professor Oak answers it. What was outside was a male Pokémon trainer with brown hair, a green shirt, and blue shorts. He had a worried expression on his face.

"Hello, young man, is there something I can help with?" Professor Oak asked.

The male Pokémon trainer responded immediately by yelling. "YOU GOT TO HELP ME! MY VULPIX'S EYES SUDDENLY TURNED DARK RED AND STARTED ATTACKING ME!"

"Your Vuplix's eyes suddenly turned red and started attacking you?!" Professor Oak repeated from being shocked.

"Yeah! My name is Cayson. One of you has to help me!" Cayson starts repeatedly saying please. "Please! Please! Please!"

Jessie looks at Meowth. "Come on Meowth, we have to help him!"

Meowth nods in response, giving her a thumbs up. "Will do!"

Jessie looks at Cayson. "Take us where your Vulpix is."

"Okay! Vulpix should be in the center of town, follow me!" Cayson starts leading the gang and Professor Oak to his Vulpix.

The scene cuts to Viridian City with Team Rocket walking on the streets with their head hanging down in shame. "I can't believe we haven't stolen one single Pokémon for the boss in the past few months," Cassidy says with a frown.

Mondo tries to keep everything positive. "It's okay guys. Once we confront the boss and he fires us, we could get different awesome and cool jobs along the way!"

Butch scoffs. "Like that's going to happen. We're criminals. Is any business going to hire us?"

"Oh… I guess you do have a point there." Mondo sighs.

Cassidy growls from frustration. "Guys, I can't handle the thought of being fired. So we're going to officially quit Team Rocket before the boss can fire us!"

"Yeah!" Both Butch and Mondo said.

As the Team Rocket trio arrives at the Viridian Gym, where Giovanni's secret base is, they are met with a lot of police force surrounding the entire building. Team Rocket immediately hides behind a building nearby from the police. "What are the police doing here?!" Cassidy asked.

"This doesn't look good at all. We need to find out what happened. We should put on our disguises." Mondo suggested.

Butch nods. "Good idea."

The scene cuts to Officer Jenny standing in front of the Viridian Gym as a Team Rocket in disguise walks up to her. "Excuse me, citizens, this is a crime scene, no trainers are allowed to enter the Viridian Gym at this time!" Officer Jenny says.

Cassidy playfully laughs. "We're not here to go inside the Gym, we're here to ask you what happened?"

Officer Jenny starts answering the question. "Well last night, we received a call from tons of people that they heard some screams coming from the building and then they saw some Pokémon flying away from the building without wings. After police searched the building, they didn't find anyone, but they did find a secret room filled with a bunch of files linked with Team Rocket. It turns out this Gym was run by Team Rocket this entire time."

The disguised Team Rocket all widened their eyes at Officer Jenny's explanation. "Could you excuse us for one second?" Cassidy asked, as disguised Team Rocket all huddled together away from Officer Jenny. "This is bad! The boss' base has been discovered!"

"What idiots caused the base to be discovered? It has to be Team Rocket grunts because no random person will just be walking in the Viridian Gym at night." Butch stated.

"I guess Giovanni has to find a new place for a secret base… it's such a shame." Mondo shakes his head and crosses his arms.

Disguised Team Rocket breaks their huddle and goes back to talking with Officer Jenny. "My apologies about that. If that's it then we will head our way!" Cassidy says while waving goodbye as she and her partners-in-crime turn around to leave.

Before they could leave, Officer Jenny stops them. "Hold it!"

Disguised Team Rocket thought Officer Jenny must've seen through their disguise as the three slowly turned around with fear. "Y-yes?" Mondo asked.

"There's one thing I want to mention. We also have been receiving strange reports of wild Pokémon being more aggressive to humans than normal to the dangerously concerning point. I'd be more careful going out of the city if that's what you three are planning." Officer Jenny was still oblivious to Team Rocket's disguise.

"Thank you! We will, goodbye!" Cassidy says, waving goodbye as disguised Team Rocket rushes out of the area, leaving Officer Jenny confused. "That was a close one. I thought Officer Jenny saw through our disguises."

"But reports of wild Pokémon being more aggressive to humans than normal? Doesn't that sound more concerning?" Mondo asked.

"I don't care! We have to focus back on stealing that twerpette's talking Meowth! The twerps must be currently in Pallet Town, so we're heading to Route 1!" Cassidy ordered.

"I thought you said we were quitting Team Rocket?" Butch questioned.

"That was before we discovered that the boss' base is no longer secret. Now come on!" Cassidy starts heading to Route 1 as Butch and Mondo look at each other before following.

The scene cuts back to Pallet Town with Jessie and the gang sprinting to the center of town with Professor Oak and Cayson. That's where they all spot Cayson's Vulpix with red eyes exactly like Azurill had.

Vulpix starts breathing fire everywhere with anger. "Vulpix! Vulpix! Vulpix!"

"Look. Vulpix's eyes are red exactly like Azurill's earlier." Jessie pointed out.

"Vulpix is also in a rage like Azurill was earlier as well," James added.

"What is going on? This just can't be a coincidence." Professor Oak starts thinking once more about what's happening.

"Can you please calm down my Vulpix? Pretty please!" Cayson begged.

"We will try. Are you ready, Meowth?" Jessie asked her talking Pokémon.

Meowth responds with a nod. "Ready!"

"Be careful, Jessie, this Vulpix looks angry," Domino warned.

Jessie nods in response to Domino's warning as she and Meowth start getting closer to the angry Vulpix. Jessie starts asking Vulpix some questions. "Hey Vulpix, are you okay? Are you mad about something?"

Vulpix's attention was immediately directed towards Jessie. "Vulpix! Vulpix! Vulpix!" The fox Pokémon blasts fire from its mouth right at Jessie.

"AH!" Jessie quickly ducks to avoid the flames and gets back up. "Come on, that wasn't nice!"

Vulpix responds with an angry cry. "Vulpix! Vulpix! Vulpix!"

"Jessie, Vulpix is also saying the same thing that Azurill said earlier; 'All humans are evil.'" Meowth translated. "This is creeping me out!"

Jessie raises an eyebrow. "Now I am even more confused than before."

Vulpix blasts more fire from its mouth directly towards Jessie.

Jessie quickly ducks again to avoid Vulpix's flames as she grits her teeth in frustration. "Meowth, use Thunderbolt!"

"Time for you to chill out!" Electricity starts flowing around Meowth's body as he sends an electricity blast to Vulpix, hitting and fainting the fox Pokémon.

"Well, it worked?" Jessie looks back at Cayson with a regretful expression. "Sorry Cayson, but I believe there was no other choice."

Cayson walks over to his Vulpix. "It's okay, I just wanted Vulpix's rage to stop." He recalls his Vulpix back in its Poké Ball. "Thank you!" Cayson puts the Poké Ball in his pocket and leaves the area.

Professor Oak turns to Domino. "Domino, may I study your Azurill for a little bit? I need to get to the bottom of why this is happening."

Domino nods in response. "Of course, Professor."

The scene cuts back to Professor Oak's laboratory as Azurill is now in a small glass open container with wires on the baby blue Pokémon coming from the top of the container. Azurill's eyes are still red and are full of rage, shouting its cry out with anger. "Azurill! Azurill! Azurill!"

Domino is looking at the glass container with a sad expression. "My little Azurill… What happened to you?" She sheds a tear.

Professor Oak is seen typing on his computer nearby, studying and observing Azurill, trying to find the main source of Azurill's behavior. "Azurill's body seems to be perfectly fine. I don't see anything that could be the reason for Azurill's sudden frustration."

Jessie starts thinking about something. "Professor Oak, may I go to your backyard for a bit?"

"Of course, I don't see why not." Professor Oak responded.

"Domino and James, I need you to come with me too," Jessie says, heading to the backyard as Domino and James follow her. In the backyard, Jessie starts explaining what she was thinking earlier. "If Azurill and that trainer's Vulpix were affected by this rage, could this affect the rest of our Pokémon?"

"But I don't see Meowth affected by it." James pointed out.

"You're right, that is odd." Jessie turns to Meowth. "Meowth are you possibly feeling any anger or rage perhaps?"

Meowth shakes his head no. "No. I feel completely fine."

"Maybe some Pokémon are affected by it and some are not? Meowth seems to be one of the lucky ones." Domino assumed.

"Which is why I want you guys to come out here to test something, which is bringing all of our Pokémon out to see who's affected by this rage and who's not," Jessie says.

"That sounds kinda risky, Jessie. Are you sure?" James questioned.

"We will go one at a time. I'll go first." Jessie pulls out her Poké Balls from her purse. "Everyone, one out!" She throws them in the air.

All of Jessie's Pokémon materialize, a few seconds pass and everyone Pokémon's eyes glow red as they cry out in a fit of rage. "ELEBUBUBU!" "Neigh! Neigh! Neigh!" "Blastoise! Blastoise! Blastoise!" "Gengar! Gengar! Gengar!" "Scizor! Scizor! Scizor!"

Domino, James, and Meowth immediately look at Jessie in fear, shouting as well. "JESSIE, RETURN THEM NOW! RETURN THEM NOW!"

Jessie immediately returns her Pokémon in their respective Poké Balls, except one of them, and that was Electabuzz. "Electabuzz… you won't attack me, right?" Jessie slowly approaches her Electabuzz.

Electabuzz stares directly at Jessie in a fit of rage. "ELEBUBUBU!" The electric Pokémon immediately blasts a powerful bolt of electricity from its antennas right towards its trainer.

Jessie immediately jumps out of the way to dodge Electabuzz's Thunder and then she recalls Electabuzz back. "I… I can't believe this. Electabuzz attacked me…"

"I'm scared to send out my Pokémon…" Domino sends out all of her Pokémon next, minus Azurill who was in Professor Oak's lab.

Starmie, Clefable, and Ivysaur all materialize and the same thing happened with Jessie's Pokémon. Ivysaur's, Clefable's eyes, and Starmie's gem turn dark red, about to go into a fit of rage until Domino recalls all three of her Pokémon while doing so.

"I guess it's my turn now…" James proceeds to pull out his Poké Balls, sending out his Pokémon now.

All of James' Pokémon materialize and again, the same thing happens. Koffing's, Pikachu's, Charizard's, Slowbro's, and Gengar's eyes all turn red, about to go into a fit of rage.

"EEP!" James immediately recalls all of his Pokémon before doing so, except for Gengar. "Gengar… are you okay?"

Gengar shouts the very same words that Meowth has been translating for the gang. "All humans are evil! All humans are evil! All humans are evil!"

"RETURN!" James immediately recalls his Gengar. "I guess talking Pokémon are immune to it after all."

"Which makes this even more confusing. How is Meowth the only Pokémon so far that is not affected by this strange phenomenon?" Domino asked.

Meowth shrugs with a smirk. "Maybe I'm just that special, that's how."

The voice of Professor Oak is heard behind the gang. "Everyone, you might want to take a look at this…" The scene cuts back inside Professor Oak's lab with the gang looking at the computer while Professor Oak is seen typing. "After doing some studying on Azurill, I didn't find anything inside of its body that could cause this rage phenomenon."

"Did you find anything at all, gramps?" Meowth asked, being a little rhetorical.

"That's when I decided to take a look inside of Azurill's brain and I found sound waves inside of Azurill's brain. Take a listen." Professor Oak plays the audio that he found inside of Azurill's brain.

The voice that was heard was a very deep menacing one. "Hurt all humans. You can't trust humans. Disobey the humans." Then it keeps repeating like a loop. "Hurt all humans. You can't trust humans. Disobey the humans."

This causes the gang to gasp in shock as the three look at Azurill in the small open container. "Th-that's why my Azurill attacked me?"

Professor Oak slowly nods. "Very much so. This voice is affecting every Pokémon outside of their Poké Balls, including the wild Pokémon."

"Is this only happening in Kanto or is Johto affected by this too?" Jessie asked.

"I'm not sure. I'm going to have to call Leaf and get some answers from her. Almost all Pokémon are affected by this strange phenomenon outside of their Poké Balls, that includes the wild Pokémon. But somehow Meowth is not affected by this?" Professor Oak raises an eyebrow.

"As I said before, I'm just that special," Meowth repeated.

James is reminded of something and turns to Jessie. "Jessie, your mom said she was getting groceries right from Viridian City? Which means she's probably on Route 1 now. We have to go after her!"

Jessie's eyes widened from the realization. "You're right, James! We have to go and protect her!"

"Let's go right now!" Domino ordered.

The gang sprints off out of Professor Oak's lab. The scene cuts to Route 1 where Team Rocket are, back into their uniforms now and trying to find a way to Pallet Town. "Don't tell me we're lost again…" Cassidy says.

Butch rolls his eyes. "This always happens, I'm used to it by this point."

"We should've followed the trail, but no, Cassidy found a 'shortcut' to Pallet Town," Mondo says with an annoyed expression.

"Well excuse me for wanting to not take the long way there! I was pretty sure there was a shortcut!" Cassidy argued back.

Before Team Rocket can argue, the bush starts rattling near them as the trio turns their attention to the bush, and a Rattata slowly approaches from the bush with red eyes. "Rattata! Rattata! Rattata!"

Cassidy had hearts for eyes upon seeing the Rattata. "Aww! This Rattata is so cute!

Butch and Mondo both stare completely at the Rattata's red eyes. "Umm, are you not going to comment on the red eyes it has?" Butch asked.

"It's a special Rattata, which means I have to catch it!" Cassidy pulls out an empty Poké Ball.

"But you already have a Raticate, Cass, why do you want a Rattata?" Mondo asked.

Cassidy turns her attention to Mondo. "Sometimes I miss my Raticate being a cute little Rattata, okay?"

When Cassidy is distracted, Rattata lunges at her and tries to bite her. Cassidy barely catches the mouse Pokémon as it starts repeating biting. "Rattata! Rattata! Rattata!"

"AH! WHAT IN THE WORLD IS WRONG WITH THIS RATTATA?!" Cassidy throws the Rattata to a nearby tree and the mouse Pokémon ends up getting hit.

"Rattata aren't that aggressive, right?" Butch asked.

"I knew she should've listened to that Officer Jenny lady!" Mondo says with an annoyed tone.

Team Rocket notices more red eyes of Pokémon in the distance slowly approaching the three. More Rattata, some Pidgey, and Spearow. The trio starts hugging each other in fear. "G-guys, I'm scared." Mondo stuttered.

The Pokémon all angrily shouted their battle cry before dashing toward Team Rocket, but the trio managed to escape by running, getting out of there barely. The scene cuts to Jessie's mom, Miyamoto, walking on the trail of Route 1 while carrying bags of groceries. She hears the sounds of screaming and she stops dead in her tracks and looks where the screaming is heard. "Is that screaming?"

It was Team Rocket and they sprinted out of Forest back on the trail and accidentally bumped into Miyamoto, causing her to drop her groceries. "Ow… my head." Miyamoto opens her eyes to see her groceries are on the floor. "My groceries!" Miyamoto sees Team Rocket next to her and becomes angry. "You three are going to pay me for my groceries! You got that?!"

Cassidy tries to explain. "W-we're sorry! It's just that we were being chased by a bunch of aggressive wild Pokémon with eyes!"

"Wait a minute, have I seen you three before?" Miyamoto recognizes that it was the same group of trio who tried to steal Lawson's Dragonite. "Now I know! You're the same thieves who tried to steal that person's Dragonite!"

"Yeah, congrats, you want an autograph?" Butch said, rhetorically. "The point is lady, we were chased by some wild Pokémon that wanted us dead!"

"It was very scary!" Mondo starts shaking in fear.

Miyamoto looks at the trio and starts feeling sympathy for them before hearing the sound of her daughter. "Mom!"

The gang was sprinting towards Miyamoto, but Domino saw Team Rocket right next to her. "Is that Team Rocket?!"

"Team Rocket?!" Jessie and the rest of her friends stop dead in their tracks. "You three better not be planning on stealing my mom so you exchange some sick trade with my Meowth!"

"No, we're not!" Cassidy said before a chuckle. "But a good suggestion though."

Mondo starts explaining to the gang with Route 1. "We were walking off the trail of Route 1 and then we came across some Pokémon with evil red eyes and then tried to attack us, but we were able to make a run for it and accidentally bumped into your mother."

"You three were also experiencing Pokémon with red eyes?" James asked.

"Wait, what do you mean Pokémon with red eyes?!" Miyamoto asked, confused.

Right on cue, the same red-eyed Pokémon from before that chased Team Rocket started to slowly arrive towards the group. "Oh no, not again!" Butch yelled out.

"Looking at so many red eyes is about to give me a headache!" Meowth says.

"Quick! Pallet Town is not far, run!" Jessie and the rest of the group started sprinting away from the red-eyed Pokémon as they gave chase.

"Seriously, why are wild Pokémon so evil now? They're more evil than us!" Cassidy says while running.

"We'll explain everything later! Right now, just keep running!" Jessie replied and kept sprinting away from the red-eyed Pokémon.

The scene cuts to the group making it to Pallet Town, losing the red-eyed Pokémon in advance as they start catching their breath from sprinting off. "Okay twerps, can you tell us what's going on now?"

"I agree with them. Sweetie, what's going on with the Pokémon?" Miyamoto asked.

"Well to put it this way, I think all of the Pokémon are being brainwashed into thinking that all humans are completely evil and bad," Jessie answered.

"Wait, all of the Pokémon?" Mondo questioned.

Domino nods in response. "Yes, that includes your Pokémon too, Team Rocket. So don't even try it!"

Cassidy looks at Muk's Poké Ball. "That does explain why Muk hasn't broken out of its Poké Ball recently."

Butch notices Meowth isn't affected. "Hold on here! Your talking Meowth isn't affected by this stupid red magic whatever you call it. What gives?"

"Unfortunately that's what we don't know about yet," James answered.

Meowth repeats once more, this time a little annoyed. "I have been telling you all, I'm just that special!"

"Okay Meowth, you're not that special! There's gotta be an explanation of this! Seriously, every Pokémon is affected by this red-eyed phenomenon except for you." Domino says.

"I think we should head back to Professor Oak's lab to figure this out," Jessie suggested

The scene cuts back to Professor Oak's lab, Team Rocket is happily eating food in the dining room. "That should keep them busy…" Jessie said in the lab with a sweat drop on her forehead.

Professor Oak has his attention on Meowth. "Meowth, can you explain why you are immune to this phenomenon? Please do not say that you're special, at least try to think of a logical explanation."

"Okay! Okay, gramps!" Meowth starts thinking about the past few days and then he remembers something. "I think I have a reason. I don't know if this will help, but it's something."

"Please tell us, Meowth," Jessie says.

Meowth begins a flashback sequence. "It all goes way back to when I was in the Pokémon Center and barely surviving the battle against that Persian in the Kanto League Tournament."

The flashback starts with Meowth lying down on a hospital bed after a brutal battle against Persian. He is in a lot of intense pain. Meowth starts narrating the flashback.

"I thought my battling days were going to be postponed for a little while m. That battle against the Persian took almost everything in the tank for me, until…"

Meowth sees a little twinkle of light and Mew appears right above the talking Pokémon with a happy expression. "Mew!"

"That Mew appeared above me! It started using some of its healing magic and fully healed me to one hundred percent!"

Mew starts to glow white, then a little ball of light heads towards Meowth, and the talking Pokémon ends up absorbing it. After the light ball is absorbed, Meowth easily gets up and starts flexing his muscles, feeling much healthier.

"After that, I thanked Mew and I was ready to take on Lawson with Jessie!"

Meowth thanks Mew and the new species Pokémon nods back in response as the flashback ends with Meowth looking where Mew disappeared and smiling.

"And that was basically it," Meowth confirmed.

Jessie starts talking inside her mind, realizing Meowth's story sounds familiar. "Wait… Meowth also encountered Mew as well when I was fully healed by them?!"

"I see…" Professor Oak nods. "I think that explains why you're not affected by this, Meowth! Your brain must be protected from Mew's healing powers from being brainwashed!"

"Really?" Meowth crosses his arms and smirks. "Thank goodness for that! I didn't want to be suckered in by those red-eyes monsters!"

"So even if Mew isn't here, they're still protecting us." Jessie looks up in the sky and smiles. "Thank you, Mew."

Team Rocket was finished with their food minutes ago and was secretly eavesdropping behind a wall. "Should we tell the twerps the information we got in Viridian City?"

"And rat out the boss from being a part of Team Rocket?! I don't think so!" Butch shakes his head.

"Look, something is happening to our Pokémon and I'm willing to do anything to save them! It looks like we're going to have to work together with them. Don't worry, we won't mention the part where they found Team Rocket files. We have to share the information. Let's go." Mondo heads into the lab as Cassidy and Butch follow along.

The gang, Miyamoto, and Professor Oak immediately notice Team Rocket entering the lab. "You three already finished the food already?"

"What can we say? We all have big appetites!" Cassidy and Butch both say at the same time.

"Forgive us for our eavesdropping, but we know some information that we want to share with you as well," Mondo says.

"Wait a minute, how can we trust you three?" Domino crosses her arms with an annoyed look.

"If our Pokémon is also infected by this then we will do anything we can do to put a stop to it, even if we have to work together with you twerps to do so," Mondo answered with a serious expression.

"Domino, Mondo looks serious. Maybe we can trust them after all." James confirmed.

Domino looks at James before dropping the annoyed look and nods. "Okay, share your information."

Mondo starts sharing the information they received from Officer Jenny. "There were reports of people hearing screaming last night in the Viridian Gym. After some people looked outside to see where the screams came from, they saw a Pokémon flying away from it, but they had no wings."

"Was this before all the Pokémon started acting evil with red glowing eyes?" Professor Oak asked.

"We believe so since this whole mess was known today and Azurill wasn't acting like this until today." Domino looks at Azurill who's still having red eyes and in an open container.

Jessie starts thinking inside of her mind once more. "Viridian Gym… a flying Pokémon with no wings… i-it can't be!" She starts to remember battling Mewtwo on her own and with Leaf. "Mewtwo! Are they behind this whole thing?"

"If that's all then I guess we owe you a thanks, Team Rocket," Domino says as James, Jessie, Professor Oak, and Miyamoto bow to them for gratefulness. "Thank you."

"No problem, we just want this whole mess to stop and our Pokémon to return to normal. We will be leaving now." Mondo heads to the exit as Cassidy and Butch follow him right behind.

As Team Rocket leaves, Jessie tells the group what was on her mind recently. "Guys, I think I know who's been behind this whole thing thanks to the information from Team Rocket."

"You have, Jessie?" Professor Oak questioned.

Jessie nods in response. "When I was at the Viridian Gym, battling on trying to earn an Earth Badge, I faced one of the toughest Pokémon ever. A Pokémon who managed to destroy my entire party before… and that name is Mewtwo…"

"Mewtwo?!" Both Domino and James said.

Meowth also remembers as well. "Oh yeah! Now I remember! I also remember beating that powerful Pokémon thanks to that armor going completely haywire!"

"Professor Oak, can you look up information on Mewtwo? I need to find a location to go to." Jessie asked.

Professor Oak responds by going to his computer and begins typing into it. After a quick search, he manages to find something. "Here we go! It says here that according to this site, after destroying the island where Mewtwo was created, some rumors say Mewtwo lies deep in the Cerulean Cave to never be disturbed again."

"Then what's where we're heading next, we're going to Cerulean Cave tomorrow and we're going to confront Mewtwo!" Jessie declared, raising her fists.

"That's easier said than done, Jessie. Don't forget that all the wild Pokémon are more aggressive and dangerous." Domino says.

"And then we went to Cerulean Cave before and we almost got completely lost, but we were saved by Mew teleporting us out of there," James added.

"I'm willing to do this to save all of the Pokémon from Mewtwo's brainwashing. We have to go tomorrow, no matter what! If you both don't want to then I'll go by myself." Jessie begins slowly walking to the exit of the lab.

"Jessie, wait… I'll go with you on this dangerous journey." Domino takes a step forward in support

"I'll go with you too. We will always be together during these types of journeys no matter what!" James also takes a step forward.

Meowth shrugs and takes a step forward. "Sure what the heck? I'll go too because it feels like I'm important anyway."

Jessie turns around and smiles at the gang. "Thank you all… thank you all so much, I appreciate it so much."

"Good luck, you three. You have to fix this, if Mewtwo is the main reason behind all of this, then I know you guys can put a stop to it!" Professor Oak gives the gang a thumbs up.

Miyamoto runs towards her daughter and hugs her. "Stay safe okay? Be extra careful and try not to get hurt at all!"

"Okay, Mom! Okay, Mom! Can you let go of me now?" Jessie asked.

"Sorry, sweetie." Miyamoto lets go of her daughter.

As the gang and Professor Oak laugh the scene cuts to night with Jessie, Meowth, Domino, and James all sleeping for tomorrow on their journey. It shows the dark sky, but all of a sudden, clouds start to form and it slowly begins to snow for some reason and will continue snowing throughout the entire night.
