Elekid-Frying Showdown

The episode starts with the gang all looking happy after seeing the Vermilion City sign, signaling that they finally reached Vermilion City.

"After one week of being lost, our heroes reach Vermilion City!"

The gang starts cheering and high-fiving each other for reaching Vermilion City.

Jessie runs over to the Vermilion sign and plants a kiss on the pole. "You have no idea how happy I am to finally see you!"

Domino, James, and Meowth look at Jessie in disgust for kissing the sign.

"Pretending I didn't see that… let's not forget that we wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for Bill. We were headed in the wrong direction because someone can't read a map!" Domino shoots a glare at James.

"Hey, I said I was sorry, okay? Geez, how many times do I have to say that?" James asked, rhetorically.

"That doesn't matter anymore, we're here now and that's all in the past. Let's go to the Vermilion City gym!" Jessie was about to sprint in the city to the gym.

"HOLD IT!" James grabs Jessie before she can sprint off.

"What, James?" Jessie asked.

"We have been looking for Vermilion City for a week and your Pokémon must be tired, I say we head to the Pokémon Center first," James suggested.

Meowth nods. "Yeah Jess, I need food here! Cats got to eat at some point!"

"I could use a meal as well," Domino added.

Jessie takes a deep sigh. "Fine, let's go to the Pokémon Center."

The title screen shows.

"Elekid-Frying Showdown!"

It cuts to the inside of the Vermilion City Pokémon Center where the gang is at.

Jessie hands over her Pokémon, including Meowth, to Nurse Joy. "Can you heal my Pokémon please, Nurse Joy? They need to be fed as well."

Nurse Joy nods in response. "We will get to that right away, Jessie!" She takes her Pokémon to the back to be healed and fed.

Jessie turns to Domino and James. "Do you guys have any information on the gym leader here in Vermilion City?"

"Well, I heard the gym leader here is-"

James was cut off by the sound of the door opening. The gang sees an Oddish on a stretcher with its trainer following to the infirmary.

"Hurry! You'll be okay, Oddish! Hurry!" The trainer yelled.

Domino frowns. "Poor little Oddish. I wonder what happened?"

Nurse Joy sighs. "Not another one…"

The gang looks at Nurse Joy in confusion.

"'Another one'? What do you mean, Nurse Joy?" Jessie asked.

Nurse Joy starts explaining. "It's the gym leader here. A lot of trainers have fallen victim to the electric-type gym leader, his name is Lieutenant Surge."

Jessie starts sweating. "H-he must be a tough gym leader…" She gulps.

James crosses his arms. "What makes it even scarier is the fact that Oddish is part grass-type. Grass-type Pokémon are supposed to have the advantage over electric-types, but it looks like that didn't matter for this Lieutenant Surge person."

"Oh no, can this get any worse?!" Jessie says, rhetorically.

"Unfortunately, it can get worse. People call Lieutenant Surge the 'Early Journey Killer.' The reason for that nickname is because of how tough Surge is for an early gym leader. It's rumored that many trainers have given up on their journey of becoming a Pokémon Master really early because they couldn't beat him." Nurse Joy explained.

"I WAS BEING RHETORICAL!" Jessie yelled, now even more worried than before.

Nurse Joy rubs her head in embarrassment. "Oops, sorry."

Domino tries to calm Jessie down. "Come on Jessie, you don't have to be worried!"

"I have every right to be worried, Domino! Especially what I just heard!" Jessie responded.

"Idea suggestion, as you wait for your Pokémon to be healed, perhaps come up with a strategy to beat this Lieutenant Surge person," James suggested.

"James, I have no grass or ground Pokémon with me at all, I have no type-advantage Pokémon to use!" Jessie crosses her arms and pouts.

The gang and Nurse Joy hear the fully healed jingle, signaling Jessie's Pokémon are fully healed.

Nurse Joy smiles. "Your Pokémon are all healed, Jessie!"

It cuts to Meowth, with Jessie's other Pokémon in their Poké Balls, eating an orange.

"This orange is really good!" Meowth says in delight and continues eating.

"Meowth!"

Meowth hears his trainer's voice and looks where it came from and sees Jessie and her friends approaching him.

"Alright, are you ready to win another Badge?" Jessie asked.

The door opened once more and there was another Pokémon on the stretcher. It was a Geodude this time with the trainer following it to the infirmary.

"Hang in there, Geodude!" The Geodude's trainer yelled out.

James expresses shock. "Wow, not even a ground-type like Geodude could beat Surge."

Meowth gulps. "Are you telling me that you, Jess, are going to make me fight that gym leader?!"

Jessie clutches her fist in excitement. "That's the plan!"

Meowth immediately shakes his head no. "No, no, no! You can't have me face that gym leader. I don't want to be a victim like what happened to that Geodude. You gotta have mercy on me, Jessie!"

Jessie starts to think. "You don't have to worry about that because you will win!"

Meowth gulps and immediately start looking around. He notices and gets Elekid's Poké Ball and shows it to Jessie. "Here, get that spark plug to battle Surge!"

Jessie groans. "Meowth, Elekid is an electric type, what good will come out of that?"

"Actually Jessie, if you use an electric type as well, I know it will make things tougher, but for Surge as well," Domino says.

James nods. "I'm going to have to agree with Domino as well. Fight fire with fire, except it is electricity."

"Also, remember what Bill said, it's really close to evolving!" Domino adds.

Jessie thinks for a bit. "Alright, I'll use Elekid."

Meowth sighs in relief.

Jessie grabs Elekid's Poké Ball and sends the Pokémon out.

"Ele!"

"Alright Elekid, can I count on you to win me a badge?" Jessie asked.

Elekid jumps up and down in excitement as the Pokémon hops onto Jessie's shoulder.

Jessie chuckles. "I guess you are."

It cuts to the gang arriving outside of the Vermilion City Gym, ready to go inside.

Domino has a worried expression on her face. "Jessie, I don't know about this. Maybe you should come back when you're stronger."

Jessie shoots a glare at Domino in response. "Are you saying that I'm weak to beat Surge?"

Domino immediately shakes her head. "NO! I just don't want you to give up your Pokémon journey because of Surge!"

"Just watch me, I'm going to beat Surge and win my third badge!" Jessie declared.

Meowth scoffs. "Watch this not age well."

"Be quiet, Meowth!" Jessie yelled.

James chuckles. "Can we go inside the gym now?"

It cuts to the Vermilion City Gym door slowly opening with the gang stepping inside. The inside of the gym looks dark from the lack of windows.

"Geez, for an electric-type gym, this place looks like it doesn't have any because of how dark it is," Meowth says.

"More victims? Welcome!" An unknown voice says to the gang.

"Who said that?" Jessie questioned while looking around.

"I did." The person slowly starts walking out of the shadows to reveal themselves to the gang.

He has yellow short spiked hair and a slight tan and wears a large dark olive green openly military button shirt which is rolled up into small cuffs, with black pants and boots. He also wears black fingerless gloves, with some iron buttons on the edge, as well as a dog tag necklace around his neck.

The gang all expressed in shock at how tall the yellow spiky-haired person was.

The yellow spiky-haired person welcomed the gang. "Welcome to the Vermilion City Gym!"

"GOODNESS, YOU'RE A GIANT!" James yelled in shock.

"Do you drink milk for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? How are you so tall?" Domino asked.

The yellow spiky-haired person crosses their arms and chuckles. "A lot of people have asked me that and I'll give them the same response. Fate gave me this height because I'm a force to be reckoned with. Lieutenant Surge, that's me!"

"I'll prove you wrong!" Jessie spoke up.

Lt. Surge looks at Jessie and chuckles once more. "I'm guessing you're my next victim huh?"

"I'm no victim, I'm more like a threat! Plus, my name is Jessie!" Jessie snapped back.

"Relax kid, I always call my challenger victims." Lt. Surge notices Elekid on Jessie's shoulder and chuckles again. "Aww, that's really cute, you brought a baby spark plug Pokémon with you. Did you really come all this way to win a badge, or just to show me your Pokémon pets?"

Jessie growls in anger. "Don't make fun of my Elekid like that. I came here to beat you and win a Thunder Badge!"

"An 'Elekid'? Looks like somebody raised their Electabuzz on the wrong side of the power line." Lt. Surge cracks his knuckles and pulls out a Poké Ball. "Go Poké Ball!" He throws his Poké Ball, sending out his Pokémon.

The Pokémon appears to be an Electabuzz but has purple glowing eyes. The Pokémon starts looking down at Elekid and staring directly at the Pokémon as Elekid looks worried.

"ELEBUBUBUBUBU!" The Electabuzz cried out.

"Whoa, that's an Electabuzz!" James says, shocked.

Jessie immediately pulls out her Pokédex from her purse.

"Electabuzz. Electricity runs across the surface of its body. In the darkness, its entire body glows a whitish blue. Sometimes purple."

Electabuzz notices the red coloring on Jessie's Pokédex and starts getting mad.

Jessie immediately notices. "AH!" She remembers what Bill told her and puts her Pokédex away immediately.

Domino also follows by immediately taking off her white and red hat.

Lt. Surge grins. "This isn't any ordinary Electabuzz, I fully believe I have the strongest Electabuzz in the world. If you want to quit, I won't blame you. So go ahead!"

Jessie grits her teeth. "I won't quit, a Pokémon Master won't quit at any challenge!"

"Everyone wants to be a Pokémon Master these days and I love just crushing their dreams away. If you say so, victim. I would suggest you leave and come back later when you evolve your baby Elekid." Lt. Surge suggested with a grin.

"I don't need to evolve my Elekid to beat you, Surge! I'll prove it." Jessie looks at Elekid. "Right, Elekid?"

Elekid looks back at Jessie with a smile. "Ele!"

Lt. Surge shrugs. "Oh well, it's your funeral, victim!"

"Can Elekid really beat Electabuzz here?" Domino asked.

James crosses his arms. "It's possible, but it's one tough challenge to overcome. I have my doubts."

Meowth smiles. "This is going to be good!"

Jessie continues talking to Elekid. "Alright Elekid, are you ready to battle?"

Elekid hops off of Jessie's shoulder and stares down at its evolutionary form right in the eyes with a glare as Electabuzz glares back at Elekid.

Elekid starts shooting out sparks in anger as it looks back at Jessie and nods. "Ele!"

Jessie smiles. "That's the spirit, Elekid!"

Lt. Surge snickers. "Let's get this battle started."

It cuts to the battlefield of the Gym as the lights turn on with Lt. Surge and Jessie standing on opposite ends of the battlefield, getting ready for their battle as Domino, James, and Meowth are watching from the sidelines.

"Electabuzz, go!" Lt. Surge commanded.

"Elekid, I choose you!" Jessie also commanded.

Both Electabuzz and Elekid step onto the battlefield, and both Pokémon are ready to fight.

"Elekid, Thunder Punch!"

Elekid starts dashing toward Electabuzz while rubbing their fist together to make electricity and punches Electabuzz right in the gut, but it appears it didn't affect the Pokémon one bit.

"WHAT THE?!" Jessie yelled out in shock.

Lt. Surge grins. "Electabuzz, show that baby spark plug a real Thunder Punch!"

"ELEBUBUBUBUBU!" Electabuzz cried out.

Electabuzz starts rubbing their fist together and creates electricity and it looks a lot stronger than Elekids. The Pokémon strikes Elekid with a punch and Elekid takes some damage. The Pokémon was flung in the air by the punch and painfully fell back on the battlefield and looked dazed.

"ELEKID!" Jessie cried out.

"You really came into the gym with a baby Pokémon? You thought you had a chance to beat my Electabuzz?" Lt. Surge says.

"Jessie, call Elekid back!" James yelled out.

Jessie looks back at James. "Why?"

"It's no use, your Elekid isn't strong enough to take down an Electabuzz yet!" James answered.

Jessie clutches her fist in frustration. "But…" She looks at the battlefield in shock.

Elekid slowly gets up, still wanting to fight Electabuzz.

"Elekid… you still want to fight?" Jessie asked.

Elekid looks back at Jessie and nods in agreement then turns its attention back to Electabuzz.

"Alright, Swift!"

Elekid opens its mouth and yellow stars shoot out of it and it strikes Electabuzz as it takes damage from the move.

Lt. Surge just snickers in response. "It's cute that the baby Pokémon thinks they still have a chance. Electabuzz, Thunderbolt!"

Electabuzz releases powerful bolts of yellow lightning from its horns right at Elekid as the Pokémon gets hit and takes major damage.

"Seismic Toss!" Lt. Surge commanded once more.

Electabuzz grabs Elekid, jumps in the air, and throws the baby spark plug hard on the ground.

"ELEKID!" Jessie yelled out once more.

Elekid is lying on the ground from taking so many as it's close to fainting.

"ELEBUBUBUBUBU!" Electabuzz cried out once more.

It cuts to Team Rocket peeking out from the window and watching the Pokémon battle.

"Come on, is that Elekid really getting its ass kicked that bad?" Butch says, rhetorically.

"Yeah! Come on you little spark plug, beat the hell out of that Electabuzz!" Cassidy realizes something. "Wait a minute… didn't that Bill guy say Elekid was close to evolving? So if Elekid wins this battle…"

Butch realizes this as well. "Elekid will evolve into an Electabuzz, it wouldn't be worth stealing at all, because it would be just a dumb Kanto Pokémon and not from a different region and we wasted all that precious time!"

"I have a better idea, let's try to steal that talking Meowth and Electabuzz if Elekid does win!" Mondo suggested.

Cassidy and Butch both glare at Mondo before they deliver two blows to his head as Mondo is all dizzy now.

Cassidy starts cheering for Lt. Surge. "Alright Surge, finish that spark plug off!"

"Yeah, fuck it up Surge!" Butch added.

It cuts back to the battle.

Lt. Surge clutches his fist. "Time to finish this battle up once and for all, Electabuzz, Thunderbolt!"

"ELEBUBUBUBUBU!" Electabuzz releases more powerful bolts from its horns straight at Elekid.

The move strikes Elekid and hits the Pokémon. "Ele!" The Pokémon cries out as it hits the ground and officially faints from battle.

"NO, ELEKID!" Jessie screamed out once more.

Elekid is seen dazed on the ground as it slowly fades to white. It cuts to the Pokémon Center where Elekid is in the recovery room, laying in a hospital bed while all bandaged up. Jessie is sitting on a stool, right next to the bed with James, Domino, and Meowth standing behind her.

Elekid slowly opens its eyes. "Ele…"

The gang expressed happiness seeing that Elekid was all right.

Jessie smiles. "Elekid, I'm so happy you're okay."

"Ele…" Elekid just turns his head away from Jessie.

James crosses his arms and feels sad. "I feel really bad for Elekid, the poor little spark plug got hurt pretty bad."

"James, I can see that with my eyes," Jessie responded.

"No, not that Jessie. I meant the inside. Elekid really wanted to beat and destroy that Electabuzz, but from what we saw, it was the total opposite." James explained.

Domino nods. "James is right, Jessie."

"I would be upset too if I got destroyed by a Persian," Meowth added in.

"Elekid was just warming up, we didn't know what we were expecting, but now we are and this time when we battle Surge, we're gonna win!" Jessie declared.

Domino looks at Jessie. "I don't know, Jessie. I think you might just have to use a different Pokémon to beat Surge."

Jessie groans.

"There is one way you might win." A voice says behind the gang.

The gang immediately turned around and it was Nurse Joy, who was overhearing their conversation. She has a small little chest in her hands.

"I'm so sorry for overhearing your conversation, but there's one way that you might win against Lieutenant Surge." Nurse Joy says.

"Tell me how to win, Joy!" Jessie demanded.

"Well, I had this for a long time ever since I was a child and I never really used it. So, I'm giving this to you." Nurse Joy opens up the small chest to reveal a blue-wrapped piece of candy inside.

"Candy?" Jessie questioned.

"This isn't just a regular piece of candy. It's a Rare Candy. You can use it on any Pokémon you may choose and they will automatically grow one level up. I know Elekid is really close to evolving and with this Rare Candy, you could evolve Elekid right now." Nurse Joy explained.

"I could evolve Elekid into Electabuzz right now?" Jessie grabs the Rare Candy from the chest. "Then… Elekid might be strong enough to win."

Elekid starts staring at the Rare Candy in Jessie's hand.

"If you make Elekid evolve, Jessie, you can't change it back," Domino explained.

"Elekid will never be the same again," James added.

"If Elekid becomes an Electabuzz, I might be able to win that badge. On the other hand, to make it evolve just to fight, I don't know if that seems right at all…" Jessie gets on one knee to get down on Elekid's level. "Elekid, what do you want to do?"

Elekid doesn't have anything to say and just continues staring at Jessie.

"I really want to win that badge, but I don't want you to evolve if you're not ready to," Jessie says.

Elekid stares directly at the Rare Candy in Jessie's hand. The Pokémon is thinking about what to do, to either level up immediately and evolve or try to beat Lt. Surge's Electabuzz as an Elekid. It cuts to the Team Rocket trio, who are secretly watching this through the window.

"She's letting Elekid decide," Cassidy says.

Butch looks annoyed. "Say goodbye to a valuable Pokémon."

Mondo shushes the two. "I'm trying to watch."

It cuts back to the recovery room with Elekid still deciding what to do.

Domino whispers to James and Meowth. "This is really a tough decision for Elekid."

James nods in response. "Either if Elekid evolves right here or not, Surge's Electabuzz is still going to be a challenge."

"If Elekid doesn't accept the Rare Candy, Jessie can give it to me." Meowth chuckles.

Elekid slowly gets up and walks down over to the Rare Candy in Jessie's hand, after deciding for a few minutes, the Pokémon slaps the Rare Candy out of Jessie's hand, signifying its answer. This shocks Domino, James, and Meowth.

"Elekid, you… don't want to evolve?" Jessie asked.

Elekid nods in response. "Ele!"

(Translation) "I'm gonna defeat Electabuzz my way before I evolve!"

Meowth translates what Elekid said for the gang. "Elekid says that they want to defeat Electabuzz as an Elekid before evolving!"

It cuts to Team Rocket who are still watching in the window.

Cassidy is shocked. "You mean it's gonna battle that thing again as an Elekid?"

Butch slams his fist into the ground in anger. "Why can't it just sit this one out? I want it to stay as a valuable spark plug!"

Mondo is tearing up. "I'm so happy for Elekid, it wants to defy all odds and defeat Electabuzz as an Elekid!"

"Grow up, Mondo!" Butch says.

It cuts back to the recovery room.

Jessie stands up in excitement. "Elekid, once you're all healed up, you and I are gonna beat Surge and his Electabuzz. I know you can do it. It might be hard, but it's not impossible. Elekid and I will find a way to win!"

Elekid looks hyped up. "Ele!"

"You know, by some miracle, I think you guys can do it," James says.

"Yeah, we believe you, Elekid!" Domino added.

"Woo, go Elekid!" Meowth cheers.

"Let's go back to the Vermilion Gym!" Jessie says in excitement.

"Ele!" Elekid stands up from the excitement but groans from tiredness and immediately lays back down on the bed.

"It hasn't fully recovered its stamina. You should let it rest a little while longer." Nurse Joy says.

Jessie realizes and rubs the back of her head in embarrassment. "Oh, right! Yeah, I'll let it do that."

Time skips to Elekid's recovery fully as the gang leaves the Pokémon Center.

Jessie looks down at Elekid. "Let's do this, Elekid!"

"Ele!" Elekid nods in response.

"We will be cheering for you, Jessie!" Domino says

James nods. "Yeah!"

"Go win that badge, you two!" Meowth cheered.

Jessie offers a fist bump to Elekid. The Pokémon smiles and gladly fist-bumps its trainer. It cuts to white after the fist bump happens then it cuts to the Vermilion City gym as Jessie bursts in the doors with her friends right behind her.

"I'm back, Surge!" Jessie declared.

Surge chuckles. "I see you don't give up easily, victim. I respect that."

Elekid walks in front of Jessie, staring directly at Electabuzz with a glare. Electabuzz glares back.

Lt. Surge notices Elekid hasn't evolved. "You didn't even train and evolve your Elekid. I thought you would learn something from losing to me earlier."

"I have confidence that Elekid can beat your Electabuzz!" Jessie declared.

Lt. Surge shrugs in response. "Oh well, if you say so. Let's get this battle started!"

It cuts to the Vermilion City battlefield with Jessie and Elekid standing on the opposite ends of the battlefield from Lt. Surge and Electabuzz, getting ready for the rematch. Domino, James, and Meowth are watching from the sidelines as the Team Rocket trio are watching through the window.

"Elekid, I choose you!"

"Go, Electabuzz!"

"Ele!"

"ELEBUBUBUBUBU!"

Both Elekid and Electabuzz run onto the battlefield.

"Elekid, use Swift!"

Elekid opens its mouth and yellow stars shoot out of it. The move strikes Electabuzz as it takes damage.

"Thunder Punch, Electabuzz!"

Electabuzz charges up its fist to create electricity and dashes towards Elekid and punches the Pokémon as Elekid takes damage and falls on the ground.

"Elekid!" Jessie yelled.

Meanwhile, the gang is watching the battle.

"That Electabuzz can strike a Thunder Punch," Domino says.

"Thank goodness that's not me in there." Meowth also says.

"Come on Elekid, you can do it!" James cheered.

It cuts back to the battle.

Lt. Surge crosses his arms. "It's over, just face it, victim. You're not going to beat my Electabuzz while your Pokémon is like that."

Jessie grits her teeth in wordiness but smiles as she sees Elekid getting up.

"Ele…" The Pokémon says.

Lt. Surge raises an eyebrow. "Not staying down, huh? Alright Electabuzz, give it another Thunder Punch!"

Electabuzz charges up their fist once more to create electricity and strikes Elekid with a Thunder Punch as the spark plug takes even more damage and is laying on the ground.

Lt. Surge smirks. "There, now it's finished!"

Elekid slowly gets up once more and is looking mad. "Ele…"

Lt. Surge looks surprised. "What's this?"

"Elekid, Screech!" Jessie commanded.

Elekid lets out a powerful screech that even scares Electabuzz as the Pokémon's defense lowers two stages.

Lt. Surge clutches his fist in frustration. "Time to end this now. Mega Kick!"

Electabuzz freezes for a bit, a little scared from Elekid's screech.

"Electabuzz, I said Mega Kick!" Lt. Surge yelled.

Electabuzz unfreezes from fear and starts rushing toward Elekid, getting ready to kick it with muscle-packed power.

"Dodge it, Elekid!"

Elekid jumps high to dodge the Mega Kick from Electabuzz as the Pokémon smirks down at Electabuzz.

Jessie grins. "Thunder Punch!"

Elekid quickly rubs their fist together while in the air to create electricity and punches Electabuzz right in the face. The Pokémon was falling back toward the ground as Electabuzz took a lot of damage.

"Seismic Toss, Electabuzz!"

Electabuzz grabs Elekid and jumps up in the air, getting ready to slam the Pokémon down.

"Elekid, try to wiggle out of Electabuzz's grasp!" Jessie commanded.

Elekid starts wiggling back and forth and manages to get out of Electabuzz's grasp before the Pokémon could land the Seismic Toss.

"Huh?!" Lt. Surge said in confusion.

The spark plug lands on the ground with Electabuzz still in the air.

Jessie clutches her fist together. "Swift!"

Elekid opens its mouth and yellow stars shoot out of it and strikes Electabuzz while the Pokémon is still in the air. Electabuzz falls to the ground and takes a lot of damage.

Lt. Surge growls in frustration. "Electabuzz, Thunderbolt!"

Electabuzz releases powerful bolts of yellow lightning from its horns right at Elekid.

"Quick Attack!"

Elekid runs at a fast speed toward Electabuzz, dodging every single Thunderbolt with its speed, and tackles the Pokémon as Electabuzz takes damage. It cuts to the gang watching.

"Look at Elekid go!" Domino says.

James crosses his arms and smiles. "I know it can do it!"

"Go Elekid, you got this!" Meowth cheered.

It cuts to the Team Rocket trio watching through the window.

Cassidy grits her teeth. "That spark plug is winning!"

"Come on Surge, use your damn brain!" Butch shouted.

Mondo snickers. "I don't think he has any."

It cuts back to the battle between Jessie and Lt. Surge.

"Electabuzz, Thunder Punch!"

Electabuzz charges its fist and dashes at Elekid with a punch made of electricity as Elekid takes damage and is sent into the air.

Jessie gasps. "Elekid!"

"Now Electabuzz, jump up in the air, grab Elekid tightly, so no escape, and use Seismic Toss!"

"ELEBUBUBUBUBU!" Electabuzz jumps up in the air and grabs Elekid.

"ELEKID, QUICK!" Jessie commanded.

Electabuzz throws Elekid hard on the ground and the impact causes dust to appear, surrounding the battlefield. Lt. Surge and Jessie both shield their eyes from the dust until it clears.

Lt. Surge grins. "The battle is over, victim."

However, as the dust clears, Elekid's two horns appear to be buried in the ground and Elekid is still fine and not damaged at all.

Lt. Surge's grin was wiped away. "What?"

"Nice job, Elekid!" Jessie cheered.

Domino smiles "Elekid uses its two horns to catch itself and break its fall from the Seismic Toss!"

James nods. "What a great strategy from Jessie and Elekid!"

Meowth continues cheering for Elekid. "Let's go Elekid, Let's go Elekid!"

Jessie smiles. "Alright Elekid, use Swift!"

Elekid pulls its horns out of the ground by hopping back on its feet. Once more, it opens its mouth and yellow stars shoot out of it and the move strikes Electabuzz, taking more damage. Electabuzz starts stumbling back and forth, getting tired.

"Alright Electabuzz, give it your most powerful Thunderbolt, end this now!" Lt. Surge commanded.

"ELEBUBUBUBUBU!" Electabuzz charges its horns with a lot of electricity and releases its most powerful Thunderbolt ever right at Elekid.

It cuts to the Team Rocket trio.

"This is definitely over!" Cassidy says.

"No one won't take a Thunderbolt like that and still be up!" Butch added.

"Come on twerpette, think of something." Mondo quietly says to himself.

It cuts back to the battle.

"Elekid, charge up your fist for a Thunder Punch, quick!" Jessie commanded.

As the powerful Thunderbolt is heading toward Elekid, the Pokémon quickly starts rubbing their fist together to charge up the electricity. The Thunderbolt strikes Elekid, although it doesn't look fazed at all. Electabuzz finally stops and looks tired. Elekid's fist is surrounded by a lot of electricity.

"Thanks a lot, Surge, you charged Elekid's fist up with your Thunderbolt and doubled the electricity!" Jessie clutches her fist together. "Thunder Punch!"

"Ele!" Elekid dashed towards Electabuzz and delivered one of the most powerful Thunder Punches of all time, from Elekid's fist charged up, right at the Pokémon. Electabuzz immediately lands hard on the ground and doesn't get up one bit, signaling it fainted.

"UNBELIEVABLE!" Lt. Surge yelled in disbelief.

Jessie goes to the battlefield and hugs Elekid. "We did it, Elekid!"

Elekid hugs its trainer back. "Ele!"

The gang all clap for Elekid and Jessie for winning the battle, as Team Rocket, minus Mondo, look upset about the duo winning. It cuts to Lt. Surge and Jessie shaking hands.

"Congratulations Jessie! As proof of you beating the Vermilion Gym-" Lt. Surge reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out a gym badge. "I present you the Thunder Badge!"

Jessie smiles and gladly accepts the Thunder Badge. "Thank you so much! I got… the Thunder Badge!" Jessie poses.

The gang and Lt. Surge all clap to celebrate.

"You should be proud. You and your Elekid really work well together!" Lt. Surge says.

Jessie nods in response and looks at Elekid. "You heard that Elekid? This was definitely your win, buddy!"

"Ele!" Elekid pumps its fist in the air, then the Pokémon slowly starts glowing white.

The gang and Lt. Surge all looked in shock, but Jessie was happily smiling as Elekid slowly evolves into an Electabuzz!

"ELEBUBUBUBUBU!" Jessie's newly evolved Pokémon cried out.

"Elekid… y-you're an Electabuzz now." Jessie starts shedding a bunch of tears seeing her Pokémon evolved

Electabuzz goes over to hug its trainer and shocks her out of love. "ELEBUBUBUBUBU!"

Jessie immediately hugs her newly evolved Pokémon back and the electricity doesn't even affect her as she is smiling through it. It cuts to Team Rocket walking away from the gym, Cassidy and Butch are upset that Elekid evolved.

Cassidy shrugs. "Oh well, we can still steal that value-talking Meowth from that twerpette."

"I guess, it's a perfect excuse to still follow them around," Butch says with a grin.

"Okay, I have to admit, I have been cheering for Elekid to beat Electabuzz all this time." Mondo chuckles and rubs the back of its head.

Cassidy and Butch both look at each other as they both crack their knuckles. Mondo gulps and starts running away.

"AH!" Mondo screamed out while running.

"Come here Mondo, we just want to talk!" Cassidy says while chasing Mondo.

"Yeah, a nice lovely chat!" Butch followed up while chasing Mondo as well.

"Elekid has evolved into an Electabuzz from beating Lt. Surge's Electabuzz as just an Elekid. Jessie and now, Electabuzz, have won a Thunder Badge with an impressive battle performance, from beating Lt. Surge, but Jessie still has a long way to go to complete her goal of being a Pokémon Master."
