A Tale of Two Meowth

"After winning her fourth badge, Jessie and her friends are now heading to the very next city nearby!"

Jessie is seen looking at her Rainbow Badge that she just won. "This badge is so gorgeous!"

Domino groans. "Jessie, you've been staring and admiring that badge for an hour now."

Meowth nods. "Yeah! Just stick it in your badge case already!"

"Fine! Fine!" Jessie pulls out her badge case from her purse and places her Rainbow Badge there as she puts the case back in her purse. "James, what's the nearest city from here?"

"Let's see…" James pulls out his map and looks. "Hmm…we're currently on Route 7. It seems like Saffron City is the closest from here, which is the direction we are currently heading."

"Alright!" Jessie clutches her fist in excitement. "Look out, Saffron! Jessie is coming to win her fifth badge!"

The title screen shows.

"A Tale of Two Meowth."

"Jessie, you know that the more badges you have, the more difficult these Gym battles are gonna be as you continue," Domino says.

"Then I'll get stronger and stronger!" Jessie responded.

"Hey guys, I have to use the bathroom," Meowth says.

"Can you hold it until we get to Saffron City?" Jessie asked.

Meowth shakes his head no. "No! I have to go right now!"

"Umm…" James looked around and noticed a bunch of trees in the distance. "There, I see some trees in the distance. We will wait for you to return."

"Alright, thanks!" Meowth hops off of Jessie's shoulder and heads over to the trees to use the bathroom.

Meanwhile, with Meowth's back turn, a different Meowth appears. The wild Meowth looks at Jessie's Meowth in confusion, then heads out of the forest to the direction where Jessie's Meowth came from. It then cuts to the gang still waiting for Meowth to return.

"So… how was Celadon?" James asked the two.

"Well it was bad at the start, but trust me, it got better at the end," Domino answered.

"How was it bad?" James asked another question.

"You don't want to know…" Jessie answered while shaking her head.

James raises an eyebrow in confusion until he and the rest hear footsteps and look to where the direction the footsteps are coming from. They see the wild Meowth from before heading toward them.

"Meowth!" Jessie runs over to Meowth and picks it up, oblivious that it's a wild Meowth.

"Meowth?" The wild Meowth cries in confusion.

Jessie places the wild Meowth on her shoulder. "Alright, let's go back on our trail to Saffron City!"

Domino and James both nod in response as they continue the trail to Saffron with Jessie.

It cuts to Jessie's Meowth arriving back after using the bathroom. "Huh? Guys?" He looks around and notices no one was there. All of a sudden, Meowth was grabbed, but it wasn't Jessie. "Hey, let me go!"

"Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in." A familiar female voice toward Meowth says.

"Oh no, not you three again!" Meowth says, confirming it was Team Rocket.

Cassidy laughs. "Prepare for trouble!"

Butch hops down a tree. "And make it-" Butch hurts his legs from landing on the ground. "OW FUCK!" He groans in pain.

Mondo runs in. "Forget about the motto, we got Meowth! Let's get out of here and contact the boss!"

"Right!" Cassidy and Butch both said.

The Team Rocket trio immediately starts running with Meowth in Cassidy's grasp.

"JESSIE, DOMINO, JAMES, HEL-" Meowth was interrupted by Cassidy putting duct tape over his mouth and now he's muffling.

"Shut your Meowth!" Cassidy laughs at her pun.

It cuts to the gang still walking on the trail to Saffron City.

Jessie looks at the wild Meowth on her shoulder. "You were such a great help with battling Erika for me, Meowth. Thank you!"

"Meowth?" The wild Pokémon cried in confusion, then the wild Meowth put on a happy face. "Meowth!"

Jessie now expresses confusion. "You're acting like a regular Meowth. Did you lose a bet to James or something?"

"What?" James asked. "No, Meowth and I didn't make any bet!… recently."

"Maybe Meowth forgot to talk." Domino giggles.

"Yeah right! No way Meowth forgot to talk. Right, buddy?" Jessie asked.

The wild Pokémon thinks for a bit, before nodding. "Meowth!"

Jessie falls in disbelief before getting back up. "You really forgot how to talk…"

"Aw come on, I was just joking back there!" Domino pouted.

"I wonder what made Meowth forget to talk back there?" James asked while thinking.

"It doesn't matter! Meowth, we're going to get you to start talking again!" Jessie declares as she grabs the Meowth and places it down.

"Meowth?" The wild Pokémon cries in confusion.

"Let's see here… how did Meowth manage to talk in the first place?" Jessie asked.

"Don't you remember, Jessie? Meowth told us how he managed to talk when we were staying in that hotel in the forest for the night." Domino responded.

It cuts to a quick flashback to Hotel Party of Meowth explaining how he learned to talk.

"I've been dreading this. I had a crush on another Meowth, her name was Meowzie. I learned to walk and talk just for her because she thinks humans are so much better. I spent almost an entire year practicing and then-" Meowth starts mimicking Meowzie's voice. "'You're still a freak!' HARD REJECTION!"

The flashback is over.

Jessie nods. "Oh right, now I remember!"

"So like… do we have to find another Meowth that thinks humans are better, for our Meowth to develop a crush and try to impress her by trying to talk?" James asked, looking dumbfounded.

"Umm that's gonna take a lot of time and effort to do that, James…" Domino responded.

"So we three are just going to teach Meowth to talk again the old fashion way!" Jessie looks at the wild Meowth. "Ready to learn how to speak again, Meowth?"

The wild Meowth jumps up and down in excitement. "Meowth, Meowth!"

It cuts to the Team Rocket trio where Cassidy is typing on the laptop. Butch and Mondo are both holding Meowth.

Butch starts cheering. "Finally, after all of these failures, we got Meowth once and for all!"

Mondo nods and starts cheering with Butch. "I don't see any signs of the twerps at all as well!"

Meowth continues squirming, trying to get out of Mondo and Butch's grasp.

"You're not going anywhere, talking Meowth. You're Team Rocket's ticket to success!" Butch grins.

"Yeah, so I'll make things easy for me and stop trying to escape if I was you!" Mondo also grins.

Meowth glares at Butch and Mondo, but does stop squirming and trying to escape.

"Good! You're not stupid." Butch says.

Mondo notices Cassidy typing on a laptop. "What are you doing, Cassidy?" He asked.

"Calling the boss, duh!" Cassidy answered as she does so on her laptop.

Giovanni appears on the laptop screen. "What do you three want this time?"

"Sir, we three finally got that talking Meowth that we've been talking about recently!" Butch says.

Cassidy nods. "Yeah! They're in our grasp now!"

Mondo smiles."Now you can finally be proud of us!"

Giovanni raises an eyebrow, interested. "So, this Pokémon can actually talk?"

The Team Rocket trio nod in response.

"Talks like a real human!" Cassidy confirmed.

"Very rare and valuable!" Mondo added.

"It will definitely make us rich if we can sell this Meowth!" Butch also added in.

"Hmm… very well, show this Meowth to me," Giovanni demanded.

"Yes, sir!" Cassidy holds Meowth to the screen for Giovanni to see, with duct tape still on the Pokémon's mouth.

Giovanni has a blank expression. "Make it talk then, prove it."

"Oh!" Cassidy removes the duct tape from Meowth.

Meowth holds the pain inside and doesn't yell. The Pokémon starts speaking in his mind. "These suckers are going to try to make me talk, huh? Time to play around!" Meowth grins. "Meowth!"

Giovanni raises an eyebrow once more. "Are you sure this Meowth can talk?"

Butch starts sweating from being worried. "Of course, he can, sir!" He turns his attention to Meowth with an angry expression. "Talk you stupid Meowth!"

"Meowth!" The Pokémon cried out.

Giovanni starts looking angry. The Team Rocket shrieks.

"We will give you some yarn! Just talk!" Cassidy demanded.

"Some cat toys?" Mondo suggested.

Butch grins. "What about catnip?!"

"Meowth!" Meowth once more says his cry and doesn't talk.

The Team Rocket trio falls in disbelief before getting back up.

"S-sir, he can talk. Trust us!" Cassidy says, nervous.

Giovanni is seen slamming his desk with his fist in anger. "You fools! How dare you waste my time?! I am busy right now, how about you three finally do your jobs for once and bring me some Pokémon!" He exits the call, disappearing on-screen on the laptop.

Mondo sighs. "We can never be the favorites!"

"I guess we have to just bring Meowth to Giovanni in person. Where is the boss anyway?" Butch asked.

"I believe he's in Saffron City, currently," Mondo answered.

Butch perks up. "Hey, that's not far from here!"

Cassidy glares at Meowth. "You dumb Meowth! Why didn't you talk when we needed you to talk the most!"

"You really think I'll let you three bozos tell me what to do?" Meowth says, rhetorically. "Now let me out of here!" The Pokémon starts squirming, trying to get out of Cassidy's grasp.

"You ain't going anywhere, you dumb cat!" Cassidy tightens her grip on Meowth.

Meowth growls in frustration. Yellow sparks start to surround Meowth's body.

Cassidy notices this. "Huh?"

"What's it doing?" Butch asked.

Meowth then fires a bolt of yellow lightning from its body at the Team Rocket trio, electrocuting them. Team Rocket is screaming in pain. Cassidy's grip on Meowth loosens from getting electrocuted and Meowth jumps out in freedom and starts running away.

"GET BACK HERE!" Team Rocket starts chasing Meowth.

Meowth continues running away from Team Rocket. "I have to find Jessie and the others. Where are they and what are they doing?"

Out of a sudden, a robotic claw comes out of nowhere and tries to grab Meowth.

"AH!" Meowth barely dodges it by moving out of the way.

"Stay still, you little feline!" Mondo directs the robotic claw at Meowth once more.

Meowth dodges it once more from being grabbed and uses Thunderbolt to try to destroy the machine, but nothing happens.

Cassidy laughs. "Silly cat, this machine is electricity-proof! You can't destroy it with a simple Thunderbolt!"

"Who's the bozos now?" Butch also laughs.

"Now be a good little cat!" Mondo directs the robotic claw machine to grab Meowth.

Meowth dodges the machine for the third time and then goes back running away.

"After that Meowth!" Cassidy demanded.

The Team Rocket trio continues chasing Meowth.

"Jessie, James, and Domino, where are you?!" Meowth yelled out to the gang.

It cuts to Jessie, Domino, and James teaching the wild Meowth how to talk. Still oblivious to the fact that it's not actually Jessie's Meowth.

"Okay, once more, repeat after me. She sells seashells by the seashore." Jessie demonstrated to the wild Meowth.

"Meowth Meowth Meowth Meowth Meowth Meowth!" The wild Meowth smiles.

The gang groans in frustration.

"Just forget it. We might as well give up and just accept that Meowth can't talk anymore." Domino suggested.

James nods in agreement. "It seems like it's the best option."

"No! I'm not giving up! It won't feel the same with just hearing Meowth's cry. I don't like changes!" Jessie pouted.

"Why should we try to get Meowth to talk again?" James asked. "I don't really see anything important with Meowth's ability to talk."

"Um hello, Meowth's ability to talk helps us translate what other Pokémon say so that we don't have to guess what they're saying!" Jessie responded.

"Actually… that's an extremely great point, Jessie," Domino admitted.

"My Gastly can take care of our Pokémon translation problems! It can talk too!" James says.

"Yeah, but only when it's dark. Don't forget that your Gastly hates sunlight and most of our adventures happen during the day anyway." Domino responded.

"Oh… yeah, you do make a point there," James admitted.

"Maybe Electabuzz can help?" Jessie pulls out Electabuzz's Poké Ball from her purse. "Electabuzz, I choose you!" She sends out Electabuzz.

"ELEBUBUBUBUBU!" The Pokémon cried out.

"Meowth…" The wild Meowth looks scared.

"How is Electabuzz going to help Meowth learn to talk again?" Domino asked.

"Yeah, Electabuzz can't talk," James added.

"Electabuzz can shock Meowth and maybe a spark of electricity will help him remember to talk?"

"Meowth?!" The wild Pokémon cried out in surprise.

Electabuzz looks directly at the wild Meowth and notices. "Elebububu, bububu!"

("Hey, you're not the Meowth I know!")

The wild Meowth gulps. "Meowth, Meowth. Meowth. Meowth!"

("I was just walking around, minding my own business. All of a sudden they think I can talk. So they have been treating me like I'm really special and I love it!")

"Elebububu…"

("But you're not Jessie's Meowth…")

"Meowth, Meowth!"

("Don't say anything, please!")

"I wonder what they're talking about?" Jessie questioned.

"If only Meowth can learn how to talk again, so we can know what Electabuzz is saying," Domino says.

"Maybe Electabuzz is trying to get Meowth to learn how to talk again without shocking him?" James questioned.

Jessie nods. "That would make more sense."

"Aren't you going to command Electabuzz to shock Meowth?" Domino asked.

"Meowth!" The wild Meowth gulps.

"Oh right! Electabuzz, use Thunderbolt on Meowth!" Jessie commanded.

"Elebububu…"

("Sorry…") Electabuzz releases powerful bolts of yellow lightning from its horns right at the wild Meowth.

"MEEEEOOOOWWWWWTH!" The wild Meowth cries out in pain from the electricity.

"Did it work?" James asked.

"Let's see. Meowth, say Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers." Jessie demonstrated once more.

The wild Meowth coughs up smoke. "Meowth Meowth Meowth Meowth Meowth Meowth Meowth Meowth."

James shakes his head no. "That didn't work."

Jessie shrugs. "Well, time to shock him again!"

"MEOWTH!" The wild Meowth cries out.

"Hey!" Domino shouted to bring Jessie and James' attention. "Shocking Meowth isn't going to do anything except bring him pain."

"Oh yeah? What's your plan?" Jessie asked.

"I have two of them." Domino starts explaining them. "One, we teach Meowth to talk again the long and appropriate way. Two, we simply give up, head to Saffron City, and just accept the fact that Meowth can't talk anymore."

"What's the 'long and appropriate way?'" James asked.

"Observe!" Domino matches Meowth's height by kneeling. "Okay Meowth, are you ready?"

The wild Meowth nods in response. "Meowth!"

Domino starts teaching the Pokémon "Let's start with the first letter of the alphabet, A! Repeat after me, alright? Ay. Ay. Ay. I ate an apple. Ay. Now you go!"

The wild Meowth starts listening and nodding. "Meowth-"

Domino shakes her head no. "No. Ay."

Jessie groans in annoyance. "This is going to take forever!"

"Well, Domino said it was the long and appropriate way," James says.

The wild Meowth tries to do what Domino is doing. "Me…owth?"

Domino shakes her head no once more. "A-y, ay."

Jessie becomes mildly impatient. "Screw this. Let's just go back to the shocking. Electabuzz, Thunderbolt!"

"MEOWTH?!" The wild Meowth cried out in fear. It immediately sprints off into the forest.

Domino growls at Jessie in anger. "JESSIE!"

James shakes his head no. "Wow, Jessie. That was really uncalled for."

Jessie rolls her eyes. "Whatever. I had no time for Domino to explain the whole twenty-five letter alphabet to Meowth to get him to talk again."

"Twenty-six…" Domino corrected.

"I DO NOT CARE!" Jessie shouted in annoyance. "Come on, let's go after Meowth!" She sprints off in the direction where the wild Meowth ran in.

Domino, James, and Electabuzz sprint off as well to follow Jessie. It cuts to Jessie's Meowth still running from Team Rocket.

"Come on little Meowth. Don't you want to make Team Rocket richer and more powerful?" Cassidy shoots the robotic claw at the Meowth to grab him.

Meowth dodges the robotic claw by quickly sliding to the left. "No! I would never help you three losers!" He continues running away.

"Cassidy, this isn't working. Can we just send out our Pokémon to stop Meowth?" Butch suggested.

"We might as well. Rattata, get that Meowth!"

"Mankey, stop him!"

"Go, Cubone!"

The Team Rocket trio sends out their Pokémon.

"Rattata!"

"Mankey!"

"Cubone!"

Meowth was still running, until he was stopped by Rattata, Mankey, and Cubone, which he was surrounded by.

"Get out of the way!" Meowth demanded.

"Mankey?"

("Do you think we're dumb?")

"Cubone."

("You ain't going nowhere.")

"Rattata. Rattata."

(I suggest you give up now. You can't get past the three of us.")

Meowth gulps in fear. The robotic arms manage to grab Meowth as the Pokémon starts struggling.

"Got you!" Cassidy grins.

"Fuck yeah, let's go!" Butch cheered.

Mondo turns his attention to the three Pokémon. "Good job, guys!"

The three Pokémon all nodded in response.

"Let me out of this thing!" Meowth continues struggling.

"Mondo, where did you put our new hot air balloon?" Cassidy asked.

Mondo blank stares. "Uhh… I thought Butch was taking care of that?"

"No, I wasn't, you dumbass!" Butch insulted. "We specifically put you in charge of that!"

Cassidy groans in frustration. "That's just great, now we have to wonder randomly and hope we just run into it!"

"You guys ain't getting away with this! Jessie, James, and Domino most likely know I'm missing now. They're searching for me and they will stop you just like they have been doing all the time!" Meowth says.

"Shut your 'Meowth.'" Cassidy duct tapes Meowth's mouth once more.

"Besides, we haven't come across the twerps yet and we're not going to this time!" Butch says.

"Come on guys, let's go search for our hot air balloon!" Mondo demanded.

Cassidy nods. "Right."

The Team Rocket trio start walking with their Pokémon following from behind and on the search for their hot air balloon with Meowth being held by the robotic arms and duct tape taped to his mouth.

"Jessie, James, and Domino, please hurry and find me!" Meowth says in his mind and starts getting worried.

It cuts to Jessie, James, Domino, and Electabuzz running in another part of the forest, trying to search for the wild Meowth.

"Do you guys see anything?" Jessie asked.

"No." James and Domini both answered.

"Ele." Electabuzz shakes its head no.

From the corner of Domino's eye, she saw a bush rattling. She peeks in the bush and notices the wild Meowth shaking in fear and hiding.

"Hey, Meowth." Domino greets the wild Meowth, calmly.

"M-Meowth."

"It's fine, you know Jessie's an idiot, right?" Domino whispers to the wild Meowth.

"Meowth?" The wild Meowth cries out in confusion.

"Huh?" Domino begins thinking. "That's weird… surely Meowth knows Jessie's lack of intelligence sometimes. They have been together from the start of her journey. So he forgot how to talk and that too?" She says in her mind.

"Domino, did you find Meowth?" Jessie asked.

Domino nods. "Yeah, I did." She turns her attention back to Meowth. "I promise we're not going to shock you, Meowth." She extends her arms to the wild Meowth.

"Meowth!" The wild Meowth happily hops into Domino's arms and hugs her.

Domino looks completely confused, but she hugs back and continues to think. "That's weird. Meowth is being so much friendlier towards me and he is also hugging me. Something is going on here." She says in her mind once more. She turns around to face Jessie, James, and Electabuzz while still hugging the wild Meowth.

"Aww, that's so adorable!" James fonds about the wild Meowth hugging Domino.

"I never thought Meowth would ever hug you or even be that friendly towards you, Domino." Jessie chuckles.

Domino chuckles back but in embarrassment. "Yeah, that's what I thought as well. Isn't that a little strange though?" She asked in confusion.

"You know what, I do believe it is strange that Meowth is being this friendly," Jessie admitted.

The wild Meowth starts sweating nervously.

"Maybe Meowth just wants to turn a new leaf?" James suggested.

"Meowth!" The wild Meowth immediately starts nodding in agreement.

"Okay, so what happened during his bathroom break that made Meowth want to become a new leaf? And also forget to talk as well, don't forget that!" Domino added.

Electabuzz looks at the wild Meowth. "Elebububu."

(She's onto you, dude.")

The wild Meowth continues being silent until the Pokémon gets an idea. The wild Meowth sharpens its claws and scratches Domino just for fun like Jessie's Meowth does.

"OW! YOU DAMN CAT!" Domino yelled.

The wild Meowth starts chuckling.

"You see? Meowth could go back to his old self if he wanted to." James says.

Jessie looks dumbfounded. "I am so confused right now…"

"Oh yeah? This will prove my suspicions!" Domino turns to Jessie. "Jessie, do you still have Meowth's Poké Ball?" She asked.

"Meowth?" The wild Pokémon cries in confusion, quietly.

Jessie nods in agreement. "I do. I keep it just in case me and Meowth get into something that could be major life-threatening to him, so I can recall him safely back into his Poké Ball, even if he hates going in there."

"Can you pull it out, please?" Domino asked once more.

Jessie happily pulls out Meowth's Poké Ball from her pocket. "Okay, now what?"

"Okay, so if this is really our Meowth that we know and love, he should have no problem being recalled to his Poké Ball for just one quick second," Domino explained.

"Alright then. Meowth, return!" Jessie points Meowth's Poké Ball at the wild Meowth.

A red beam strikes the wild Meowth and the Pokémon doesn't go in the Poké Ball. Jessie and James both gasped in shock with the wild Meowth sweating in fear.

Domino snaps her fingers. "I knew it!"

The wild Meowth hangs its head down in shame with Electabuzz patting the Pokémon's back for comfort.

"So all this time we tried to teach a wild Meowth to talk without realizing it?" James pointed.

Domino nods. "Yep, pretty much. I believe the switch happened when we thought Meowth got back from using the restroom in the trees."

"WELL, WHERE'S MY MEOWTH RIGHT NOW?!" Jessie screamed out at Domino at the top of her lungs.

Domino was covering her ears when Jessie was screaming at her. "MY EARS!" She uncovers them. "I don't know, Jessie!"

Jessie sprints off to immediately find Meowth with Domino, James, and Electabuzz following her.

"Meowth, Meowth!"

("Hey, wait for me!") The wild Meowth soon follows them after.

It cuts to where the Team Rocket trio is, still having Jessie's Meowth in possession and looking for their hot air balloon.

"See anything?" Cassidy asked.

"No." Both Butch and Mondo responded.

"See anything?" Cassidy asked once more immediately.

"No…" Butch and Mondo answered back with the same response.

Cassidy repeats her question for the third time. "See anything?"

Butch growls. "Just shut up, Cassidy! Obviously, you're gonna get the same answer when you repeat the question after one second!"

Cassidy rolls her eyes in annoyance. "Well excuse me! I just want us to get out of here before the twerps find us and we three finally get that promotion from the boss and also finally not be a laughing stock for the entire Team Rocket organization!"

"Blame Mondo for not remembering the directions to the hot air balloon then!" Butch scowled.

"Excuse me, but you two are four years older than me and the adults here should be the ones with responsibility!" Mondo defended himself.

"These guys fight more than Jessie and Domino do…" Meowth says in his mind.

Cassidy was looking and not paying attention to where she was walking. "Whatever Mondo, it's not like we're going to just run into our hot air balloon out of random." Then she accidentally runs into their hot air balloon and falls into the basket. "Ow…"

"Wow!" Butch laughed. "Well, what do you know!"

"Maybe you should say stuff like that more often, Cass!" Mondo chuckles.

Butch and Mondo hop into their hot air balloon with Cassidy, followed by their Pokémon, with Meowth still in the grasp of their robotic claw and mouth duct-taped. Butch turns on the burner as the hot air balloon starts ascending in the sky. It cuts to the gang looking for Meowth.

"MEOWTH!" Jessie shouted out.

Domino looks up in the sky and notices a familiar hot air balloon. "Hey guys, look!" She pointed out.

Jessie, James, Electabuzz, and the wild Meowth look up and notice the hot air balloon in the sky.

Jessie looks closer and notices Meowth in Team Rocket's possession. "Team Rocket's got Meowth!" She pulls out a Poké Ball. "Pidgeotto burst that balloon!" Jessie sends out Pidgeotto.

"Pidgeotto!" The Pokémon cried out before flying toward Team Rocket.

It cuts to Team Rocket in their hot balloon, celebrating and singing.

"We're gonna steal Meowth! We're gonna steal Meowth! We're gonna steal Meowth" the trio sang.

"Pidgeotto!" Pidgeotto flies through the hot air balloon, creating a noticeable hole.

Cassidy gulps. "Uh oh…"

The hot air balloon starts falling towards the ground before it crashes while Team Rocket is screaming, Meowth was screaming too, but only can hear muffling, because of the duct tape. The impact of the crash causes Meowth to be freed from the robotic hand and land in a bush.

"Ugh…" Cassidy groaned. "We really got to do something about the twerpette's Pidgeotto."

"TEAM ROCKET!" The gang all screamed out before facing the criminal trio.

"Good job, Pidgeotto!" Jessie recalls the Pokémon back in its Poké Ball.

The wild Meowth notices the bush is rattling then runs over and hops in it. Team Rocket nor the gang noticed.

"Elebububu?" Electabuzz cried out in confusion. The only one to notice the wild Meowth hopping in the bush.

"You better hand over Meowth, right now!" Jessie demanded.

Cassidy laughs. "Not going to happen, little twerpette." She holds up the robotic hand with her eyes closed, thinking Meowth is still in its grasp. "This Meowth will now be ours!"

Mondo's eyes widened when he noticed the robotic claw doesn't have Meowth. "Um… Cassidy."

"What?" Cassidy opens her eyes and then she notices Meowth is missing. "AH, WHERE IS MEOWTH?!" She begins looking around.

"Wait a minute…" James notices something missing and looks around. "Where is the wild Meowth?"

"Huh?" Both Jessie and Domino said in confusion.

Team Rocket and the gang all look around their surroundings, trying to find a Meowth, including all of their Pokémon. They all stop when they notice the bush is rattling and the ripping of duct tape could be heard as well. Two Meowth, both without duct tape around its mouth, pop out of the bush and then stand side-to-side with each other. Everyone gasped in shock.

"WHICH ONE IS THE TWERPETTE'S TALKING MEOWTH?!" Cassidy screamed out.

"And which one is the wild Meowth…" James added with a normal speaking tone.

Both Meowth look at each other. "Meowth!" They both said happily.

"I got to not talk and act like a normal Meowth like this one so that Team Rocket won't know which one is me. I hope Jessie and her friends pick the right one…" Jessie's Meowth said in his mind.

Jessie looks at Meowth A and then Meowth B side-to-side. "I… can't decide."

"Move over, twerpette!" Cassidy pushes Jessie aside.

"Hey!" She screamed out.

"Hmm…" Cassidy also looks at Meowth A then Meowth B side-to-side.

"Well, Cassidy? Do you know?" Butch asked, slightly annoyed.

"Meowth!" Both Meowth cried out.

Cassidy tries to think, but can't figure it out and starts getting frustrated. "I can't tell any differences! Both Meowth look so similar! ARG!" She stomps her foot on the ground.

"So what do we do?" Mondo asked.

"I say we both take one Meowth with us. One is a wild Meowth, one is Jessie's Meowth. Whoever picks right, wins." James suggested.

Jessie looks at James in disbelief. "James, are you crazy?! I could lose my Meowth!"

"It's only fair to them, Jessie." James points at Team Rocket. "Besides, it would be really shocking when you selected the right one." James secretly winked at Jessie when he said 'shocking.'

"Huh?" Jessie said in confusion.

Team Rocket was in a group huddle, discussing, before breaking it.

"Fine, we three agree that each trio will take one Meowth with them," Cassidy says.

"And we also agreed that only if the twerpette gets to pick." Butch grinned.

"Fine!" Jessie kneels to the two Meowth. She begins thanking and starts taking her time from looking back to back of the two Meowth.

"Meowth!" They both cried.

"Hurry up, Twerpette!" Mondo demanded.

"I'm trying, it's just so hard! I mean they're just so similar that it could be Meowth A…" Jessie pauses for a little bit. "Or Meowth B."

"ELEBUBUBU!" All of a sudden Electabuzz electrocutes Jessie after she says Meowth B.

"OW, ELECTABUZZ! WHY?!" Jessie screamed out in pain.

"I think he's also saying hurry up…" James says.

Jessie groans before she remembers something that James said earlier and replays it back in her mind.

"Besides, it would be really shocking when you selected the right one."

Then she remembers the wink that James gave when he said the word, shocking.

"Okay, I made my decision." Jessie looks back at Meowth A and Meowth B, before picking up Meowth B. "I'm choosing this Meowth."

"Meowth!"

"Are you sure, Jessie?" Domino asked.

Jessie nods in agreement. "I am sure."

Cassidy grins. "Then we get this Meowth!" She grabs Meowth A.

"Meowth!"

The Team Rocket trio quickly sprints off with the gang looking on. It cuts them walking back on the trail.

"I hope I picked the right Meowth." Jessie sighs.

"Well, there is only one way to find out." James pointed out.

Everyone nods in agreement as they turn their attention to Meowth.

"Well, Meowth… can you say something other than your name?" Domino asked.

Meowth looks at the gang before taking a deep breath. "Meowth!" They cried out their name.

Jessie falls in disbelief. "NO! I CHOSE WRONG!" She begins hitting her fist on the ground.

Meowth laughs. "I'm kidding! I'm kidding! You chose right, Jessie!"

"Meowth!" Jessie immediately hugs her Pokémon, who hugs back. "I'm sorry I got confused with another Meowth."

"Good." Meowth scratches Jessie in the face. "That's for abandoning me and confusing me with a different Meowth."

"I deserve that…" Jessie admitted.

James and Domino both chuckle.

James smirks. "And you can thank Electabuzz! I thought of the plan with them, secretly, that if you ended up deciding the right selection, they would shock you. Team Rocket had no idea!"

"Elebububu!" Electabuzz jumps up and down in excitement.

"Wow, that was actually a great plan! Smart thinking, you two!" Domino admitted.

"Yeah! You two really helped me out back there. Thank you so much!" Jessie both hugged James and Electabuzz.

James chuckles. "Anytime!"

Meowth nods in approval. "Meowth, that's right!"

"Well, that was a close call! Our heroes managed to save Meowth once more from Team Rocket by the skin of their teeth! What else crazy adventures does the gang have in store in the future? Find out as the journey continues!"

It cuts to Team Rocket in their hot air balloon up in the sky once more. The hole earlier was patched up with a bandage.

"Are we sure we got the right Meowth?" Cassidy questioned.

"Meowth!"

"Well, there's only one way to find out." Mondo pulls out an empty Poké Ball.

"What are you going to do?" Butch asked.

"Simple." Mondo starts explaining. "I'll throw a Poké Ball at it. If Meowth goes in, it means it's wild and unfortunately, the twerpette chose right. If the Poké Ball flings back towards my hands, it means the Meowth already has a trainer, which is the twerpette's!"

"Wow, good thinking!" Cassidy admitted.

"Poké Ball, go!" Mondo throws the Poké Ball toward Meowth.

"Meowth?" The Pokémon gets hit by the Poké Ball. Unfortunately for Team Rocket, Meowth goes inside the Pokémon. Signaling it's wild.

Team Rocket fell over in disbelief while the Poké Ball was shaking. "WE GOT THE WRONG ONE!"

The wild Meowth breaks out of the Poké Ball. "Meowth!" The Pokémon jumps on top of the balloon, and pokes a different hole in it, before jumping off of it and starts falling to the ground and landing on its feet.

The hot air balloon starts spiraling around in the air.

"LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET IS BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" Ding!
