The spectacular day(pt.2)

When the door flung open, I saw Stella. My childhood best friend when I use to stay with grandma. Her hands were tied up along with a gag tied around her mouth to prevent screaming but the sobs were pretty much audible.

A brunette was standing beside her. I was about to take another step when something stiff hit my head. Before passing out, I saw grandma. I heard the words "You are safe now dear"

"Grandma? Are you here?" my vision is still blurry. I could identify her voice. What if I was hallucinating? Before I could think of anything else. My eyes were shut.

When my eyes became aware of the surroundings, I saw Kathrine and Stella tied up firmly and motionless.

"Hello dear, it's grandma" she gave me a courteous smile and signaled the people to go out. I figured out we were in a caravan.

Before they could leave, I started screaming deafeningly when a brunette came near me and slapped me right across the face. It made me look down to the side as I was crying. I didn't want to look up and seem helpless but she took my chin to turn towards her.

"Shut up or get shot. Choose what you want shrewdly"

She seemed imperious; the brunette was about to say something but my grandma interfered saying "that's enough" and she left me before it would get aggravated.

Grandma signaled them to go out. They stood near Kathrine and Stella were also taken by them outside. My grandmother and I were the only ones in this caravan.

I was breathing shakily as I said, "I thought you were dead." I managed to speak as my eyes started to tear up. I was living in a lie all this time?

"You liar!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "You left me with these people to suffer and now all of a sudden, you want to come into my life again?! I scoffed at her.

"Let me speak Athena Bennett, listen to me first"

I refused to listen to her. She then called the brunette inside and she tied my mouth up by a gag tightly and walked outside without saying a word.

"I'm sorry that I left you with Kathrine and Paden. I thought they would take care of you until I'm gone. I feigned my death as it took me a few years to rebuild my empire since your parents were of no use as well. They left my buisness to work on theirs. Our business continued for generations and generations. My son didn't want my business or a daughter. When he had you, he didn't appreciate that his wife had given birth to a girl. As he tried to control his aggression, he got tired of you after a while and flew off to his business with your servant like mother. I taught you so many things about my business as well as how to fight. I was always there for you during ups and downs. I don't expect you to give anything in return but just do me one favour. Only one job for your grandma. Complete this mission and take my empire."

She then got up and untied my hands ,legs and mouth. Then she walked towards her seat and sat next to me.

"Please Athena this is the least you could do for me," she said while holding my hand. The tears flowed down my cheeks as I held her hand tightly and nodded in agreement.

"I-I will do it for you grandma, tell me what it is"

She gave me an authentic smile and called them inside. By the looks of it, Stella and Kathrine seemed to be dreary and distressed. Then the two other girls untied them both and led them to a sofa.

My grandmother introduced me to the girls. She pointed at the brunette "This is Alisha" and then pointed to the girl beside her "and that's Lily" both of them are diligent, if you have any doubt or worry, you can ask them".

I didn't hear Lily speak a word but Alisha seemed to be extremely feisty and she was a dreadful person, she seemed appalling.

Grandma squeezed my hand gently while standing up.

"Alisha explains the plan to her" grandma said while heading towards the door.

Alisha sighed and started speaking "The people you are with right now are part of the Rodriquez family. They are the most dangerous mobsters in the entire country. Their wealth means everything to them. We need you to earn their trust. Even if you don't manage to gain everybody's trust. Just gain Asher's trust, and that will be more than enough. The Rodriquez family won the auction for the huge diamond. When they took the diamond home, they celebrated by calling many guests from all around the world. When the power was off, the person who was attempting to steal accidentally broke the diamond, which spread all over the ground once the power was restored. There was only one piece of the diamond. It made Mr. and Mrs. Rodriquez furious but then somebody shot one of their sons in the arm which made all hell break lose.

I listened carefully with my fingers interlaced "how do you know all of this?" I raised a brow and asked Alisha.

"I had taken up a job as a waitress that night along with Lily"

"Why did you take up a job there?"

"We needed the diamond" Alisha said angrily and was trying her best to control her anger.

She then continued "The diamond we are talking about has six pieces. Our gang found the locations of all the pieces during these few years. One of the pieces is located in Asher's house in his office behind a huge painting. Before you can do anything go into the garage and turn off the power of the entire house. After you are done doing these steps, u will find a padlock code behind the painting. Because we worked together for a long time and once, I snuck a camera into his office, we were able to find the code. 224367 is the code. As soon as you enter the code, the vault will open. Quickly take out the piece of diamond and come down immediately; we will be waiting for you." she explained.

"I don't want to do this to them," I said worriedly."

"Are they that significant than your grandmother?"

I nodded a no as the tears began to stream down my face. I felt awful for doing that but I agreed with the plan.

"Now I will tell you what we are planning to do. We have an inner connection in one of Asher's restaurants, so we'll set the kitchen on fire. When we do that, the manager will call Asher. You act as if you want to come today and then tomorrow act as if you are ill. You have to gain the trust of Asher first. He isn't an easy target to fool."

I nodded with tears in my eyes. "I will do it"
