Subsequent Fall Part 59: Echo

Astral followed his beacon into the city as Jaimie stood still, God Emperor stared at her eyes as he was ready to kill her. He stood still as she raised her shield up, the preparation and mental effect of him being back after being killed is something that made this fight feel off. "For the sin of taking my daughter from me, you shall perish as well as your children."

Jaimie snapped as she vanished from his view. The spear of hers slammed against his side as he was sent into the barrier and fell to the ground as Jaimie waited for him to get up. God Emperor had the look of fear in his eyes as Jaimie's eyes burned with a fire like no other seen. The threat of her two children being taken from her was unacceptable.

Darkness filled his eyes as he stood up, in a blend of corrupted speech and his own he stood without the fear of her. "We fear him more." God Emperor pulled out his saber and charged forward as void tendrils came from all around his body. Jaimie rotated her shield around and blocked the tentacles. Setting her spear on her back for a moment.

Once he closed the gap she punched him straight in the chest and caved it in with one strike, pulling back the arm she grabbed her spear and started slicing the tendrils as God Emperor started to slash at her with his saber, she blocked each blow with the shield.

God Emperor growled as his slashes became more powerful trying to out strength her as she started to parry his attacks and making sure he couldn't slip through her defense. Her spear was busy at work to make sure the void tendrils didn't breach despite the speed of the attacks increasing while she stayed stagnant.

She didn't need to do more to stall out versus him. But that shouldn't be the goal to have, she needs to win and beat him. Make it easier for Astral to deal with the others by taking out one of the people who would get in his way. She shifted into the next level as she focused her breathing as Astral showed her. Her spear enhanced with fire compared to normal sparks it sent flying.

God Emperor was on his back foot as he kept moving away from her, the speed of the tendrils only increased as he was pushed back. Jaimie's aggression kept going as she had no reason to pull any of her blows. Then a light shined above them. Astral just sent out his blessing as a light radiant glow surrounded Jaimie.

A downward slash from her spear ignited a wall of fire in the direction God Emperor tried to go. Blocking him in as the fire trapped him between her and the barrier. He had few other options to deal with her. Then he realized what gave her so many problems last time. Pulling on her back with his telekinesis he tried to fling her from the battle as she stabbed her spear into the ground and stayed still.

He moved her in every possible direction as all she did was get closer. The rubble from the city was going to be perfect as he started to fling it at her to distract her. Then the magic circle appeared. She felt more fluid as the rubble flew freely at her. She fired back with a second wall of fire that blocked any escape.

God Emperor stood still as he looked at the situation. "Trapping me in to put me down like the dog I am, is this what you did to my daughter?" Jaimie halted her forward movement for the moment as all she could think was did he forget.

"Do you remember the first time you died?" She asked, smashing the rubble as she looked to space. Right above the city a ship was crashing as two small dots were flying all around it, pestering it.

The void tendrils lashed out at Jaimie at this bold question. Almost as its suppressing the memories for their own gain. Jaimie blocked each and every one as God Emperor focused on the question, perplexed by the mere thought that he couldn't remember, it was her spear that skewered through Valkira to hurt him originally.

"All I remember is my daughter died due to you. If you weren't there. I would have been able to save her!" He shouted as he charged forward. Jaimie didn't hesitate as he slashed his chest open as he rolled on by and kept going as he slammed through buildings for whatever reason, the firewalls dropped as she took a breath, flames coming from her mouth.

"That couldn't be more confusing." Jaimie looked up to the Merle as a bulge appeared on the outside hall from the inside. She felt worried as she looked around. The twins probably had something similar with who they were battling as she raced around to find them.

"Viper team, how is their communication ship faring?" Airsoft asked as the armies on the ground started to act in a disarray and separating to focus on their own languages. He saw their panic as they needed to regroup.

"The Everlast and the Ambassador are taking on their escort fleet, but the communication ship is coming down right over the city where Astral is. Should we try and redirect it?" Viper Seventeen asked.

"No, he can deal with it as well as Jaimie, let the ship crash if it needs to. Good hunting Viper team, now help the other two ships out!" Airsoft smiled as he felt like this fight was almost back to even like the start.

There was a lot more to worry about now though. Now that the armies split apart they could coordinate better and use all their resources to make all out pushes rather than slowly march to their deaths. How could they stop it and the rest of the armies? Airsoft looked up as more transports came down to the surface.
