Subsequent Fall Part 53.3: Moon Ketto

"Neigel, our forces can only hold out for so much longer, do you have any plans to lead us forward!" Anathan shouted as he was on the front lines as the cyan beam entered the sky. The shrapnel from the moon flying boundless to the other moons.

"Egy has fallen, I repeat, the moon egy has fallen." The system alerted them all as the clone generals were shocked as Laz would be the first one to go, they had a moment of silence while the war droned on around them.

"If your forces are overrun it is better to detonate your moon than to let them even attempt to gain access into our systems." Adam gave the statement as he was overlooking the moons and the galaxy around him. They were keeping pace to bring the numbers down to one hundred to one, they just needed Astral to come back as soon as possible. "Detonation timers have been added to each moon, activate them if you are overwhelmed to lead to evacuation."

The clone generals along the frontline all pushed the notion to the back of their mind as they all kept fighting, one moon was in a jam however. Barricaded away from all the fighting, Neigel sat down slowly in a chair as the battle map of the moon was scary for them to see.

Only a small clutch of men were remaining as the enemy forces made an all out blitz to take the moon that was offering the least resistance, the number of enemies was over three billion compared to their small number of ten thousand.

"All remaining forces, find the closest shuttle and evacuate. I am blowing the moon to pieces, let them enter and I will buy you all time!" Neigel hopped up on demand as his four guards left and started with the evacuation process to the planet. As they started sneaking around Neigel barricaded the building more with the various drones, traps and robots sprinkled throughout the facility.

The enemy forces broke down the door and fell into a pitfall trap as Neigel laughed through the intercom system. "Ah foolish people, even if my forces are decimated, you can't take this place from me."

"We will do it over your dead body!" The apparazza unit shouted as they charged down the hall, being cleaved by the invisible laser traps. Each one that they stumbled apon bought just enough time. Each successful trap led to another shuttle that was able to escape to the planet to continue the fight.

Anathan boarded the last shuttle as they hovered over the center building that was swarmed by different apparazza, tizzles and imperial guards. "GODSPEED GENERAL IT WAS A PLEASURE!" Anathan shouted as the personal guards of Neigel held him from jumping back into the fight.

"Godspeed Anathan, stay safe and give them hell from me on that planet." Neigel smiled as the welding of the middle door was starting to warp as he grabbed his staff and shotgun. "I still am a general." Neigel hit the timer as the system defending the Merle shut down, the timer read three minutes as the door slammed down.

"Can you last three minutes? Cause you will need to be quicker than that!" Neigel shouted as he stood next to the doorway as they tried to gun him down, the staff had a shield charm on it, while spinning it created a forcefield that bullets couldn't penetrate. They tried to charge in as the shotgun rounds vaporized the charging apparazza. The tizzles crawled in from the ceiling as they flanked Neigel, one of them tried to get into the computing system as Neigel was busy with the others.

"WE NEED HIS HAND TO TURN OFF THE TIMER!" the one tizzle on the monitor shouted as his brains were blasted over the timer. Neigel dropped his shotgun and was holding an apparazza in his arms and used their weapon to kill the tizzle.

He swung his staff violently around his head and around the room, decapitating several different species of warriors as a tizzle snuck up behind him and stabbed him in the back. Neigel coughed up blood as his body went into shock. Collapsing in on itself he fell belly first to the ground as the apparazza, tizzle and imperial guards started to curb stomp him.

His armor held up as his body was taking the beating. Looking up the timer read thirteen seconds. One of the guardsmen grabbed his arm as a tizzle cut his hand clean off. By the time they pressed it against the monitor it was too late, it wouldn't work.

"YOU FORGOT ONE THING, THE HAND NEEDS TO BE ATTACHED!" Neigel slowly stood up as the timer was steadily going downward. "Three, two, one. Embrace death with me." Neigel stretched his arms out as three different tizzle's pulled out their plasma blades and cut him down. However the damage had been done and the moon's fate was sealed.

"Five percent power. Absolute destruction." Merle spoke as he launched an attack from the refraction tunnel and imploded the moon as Ally came back inside from the other moon. Reading the reports as Astral still hadn't returned after days of the initial vanishing.

Sal read out of the corner of his eye that two of the moons had fallen while he kept his rhythm up in the fighting of the apparazza around him as he looked to the stars and the moon base as that was their big threat to them. He realized it when it struck out and hit the shielding of the Merle and caused it to crack. "C'mon boys, you got it." Sal was distracted as an apparazza tried to jump him. But his lieutenant had his flank as they pushed forward.

Pollen looked over to Adam as he had done the number crunching of the current pace of combat. Throwing a stress ball at Adam he caught it and turned around. 'We need Astral to come back and rip through it all. We will be on fumes by the time Titan's army attacks.' He finished signing as the three clones on the bridge halted, something was majorly off, one of their kin died.

"Oh, well if that's the case, Merle." Adam pointed out to the rest of the fleets. "You may fire when ready, unload and even this fight." Merle nodded as the flame went out. The refraction tunnel glowed brightly as it took down one of the invading forces in its entirety.

"He will be on cooldown for a day, we cannot afford to lose any ground." Adam looked at the screens as his hands became a blur. Several warning signs appeared as Fireteam Falcon was on the call. "What is it?"

"We aren't coming back, pull the Everlast out now and have it bring the Ambassador back for repairs, you will need it in the endgame of this fight!" Falcon shouted as the gunfire rained around him.

"What do you mean you aren't making it back?" Adam asked.

"There is too many forces, we are skilled but we won't risk the others aboard that ship to die to save us, trust us, we knew the risk when we signed up for this job." Falcon ducked below cover as he moved forward.

"So you want me to rescue the Ambassador and pull out the Everlast to sacrifice yourselves?" Adam asked as tears ran down his face.

"Correct, if Astral were in the spot we were. He would say the same thing. Falcon roll out!" Falcon yelled to the rest of the team as they charged forward.

"Everlast, fall back to the Merle and pick up the Ambassador on your way back, you will be on standby till we need you." Adam gave the command as the ship dislodged itself from the hull and rescued the Ambassador on the way back.
