A strange encounter pt 2

Rather than 'it', its better described as a 'he'. A beautiful boy floated in the midst of semi-transparent liquid. His hair floated leisurely around him.

Paired with his beautiful face and the white robe he was wearing, he had the exact same image as a transient immortal who had seen everything to see in life already. Asterin stared in awe.

Frankly, it was quite hard to get Asterin to be amazed. After all, with the number of beautiful boys she had seen in various otome game, it would be a wonder if she was.

But this particular boy somehow felt different. His looks could easily top the list of boys she had seen. Furthermore, with that aura… Asterin touched her face. Was this love?

As Asterin was still fawning over the boy, a loud crack sounded out. The glass shattered, spilling all the strange liquid out.

The beautiful boy, free from his liquid prison, fell forwards, crashing into Asterin. Now covered in the slippery liquid, Asterin could only halt her wandering thoughts to deal with this situation.

Speaking of which, the liquid was extremely strange. Asterin, holding the boy, tried to get up, only to fall on her face, her arm pressed underneath the boy.

The liquid was extremely slippery, and an utter annoyance. It felt like slime if slime was remarkably similar to liquid. The liquid also seemed to just slide right off her, without getting her clothes wet at all.

Asterin, after trying a few more times, resorting to wriggling her way out of the weird liquid.

And that was how Chryses, after using multiple fireballs to forcefully dig his way through, found her. As Asterin and Chryses shared a bewildered look.

Asterin contemplated her life choices, as well as the fact that she in fact, forgot about ice powers and freezing the liquid. Chryses seemed to be slightly weirded out, resorting to smiling and walking over to try and pull her up.

A loud noise sounded out as Chryses slipped and fell in the liquid. Both of them shared the same helpless look now. Asterin vaguely thought about the whole strange situation, finding it increasingly funny as she looked on at Chryses trying his best to stand up to no avail.

Unable to stand it, she burst out laughing. Chryses looked at her, before helplessly laughing as well.

"Hahahahahaha!!! What a stupid situation to be in…" Asterin remarked as both of them finished laughing like psychos. The atmosphere had finally lightened up. "Right… right… we now need to find a way out of this strange liquid."

Chryses wiped a tear from his eyes, looking much more relaxed than before. He seemed much easier going now, smiling sincerely. Asterin, finally done with laughing, touched the liquid, freezing it. Chryses looked on with an awed expression.

"Wow…" Now able to stand with a little more balance, Chryses stared at the ice, looking like a child that had seen something wonderful. Asterin proudly looked at the ice, traversing it slowly so as to not slip.

Finally off the ice, she let out a breath. "Yes, it's my power. How is it?" Asterin glanced at Chryses, expecting praise.

"Hm, its nothing to scoff at. I've never seen someone with an ice power before." Chryses, stepping off the ice, grinned. Asterin, glowing with praise, grinned as well. To be honest, Asterin had been wanting to talk to someone with ease for a while.

Being a social animal, she had wanted to make some friends with people, even if they were only in fictional. But the people she had seen so far were either dead, or unfriendly. So it was nice to have someone to talk to.

Both of them back pedalled, getting back on the car and reversing out of there. Throughout the entirety of their journey, they shared an interesting conversation.

Reaching the place, Asterin was slightly sad to go. Chryses was the first friend she had made on this journey. Chryses seemed to notice her feelings and ruffled her hair slightly.

"Do you know the base 'Code Zero'? If you ever want to find me again, I'll be there. It was nice meeting… wait, what is your name?" Chryses looked at Asterin as he asked. "Oh, I never did tell you huh. My name is As… Eria. That's right, Eria."

Asterin answered. Just in case anything did happen and she came across someone that knew the original owner, she should use Eria instead of her normal name.

"Well it was nice to meet Eria. My name's Chryses by the way. I hope to see you at Code Zero soon." Chryses waved at Asterin, driving off in his car.

Asterin, left at Charlie's entrance which Chryses had willingly sent her once he knew her better, looked towards it.

Charlie was by no means a small base. It had a perimeter fence set up, which was remarkably quick considering it was only a month since the apocalypse started, something that Chryses had told her. Which reminded her… Asterin tapped the side of her head.

The game was set to start two months after the apocalypse started, as the female lead only came out of her house once all the food was finished. It was an ordinary human thing to do, which is why Asterin hadn't come across anyone yet.

Charlie was set up based off a military base, so it was stocked full of guns and rations. The military also acted quite quickly and had set up living quarters for civilians, even though they were slightly decrepit.

However, as Asterin placed the sleeping boy on the bed, she could only sigh at the room.

It was better if she called it a closet actually. The walls were made out of thin paper and there was a thin curtain separating her from the outside. Although it was clean, it definitely wouldn't stay that way in the long run.

Asterin contemplated her choices. It was either she paid for a proper room using nuclei or she stayed in this room. She could also just live in outside the walls, but that would ruin her chances of finding her dear Feng Mian.

Asterin sighed. She also had to find out what to do with the boy.
