Life 12: Fateful Encounter...? The Scroll of Blood - II

The gangsters or whatever they were fled desperately as Adam picked up two stones chucking them each at the two's legs skimming them both as a large gash appeared on their legs.

With that, he turned to the helpless man- bleeding out.

"Hey, you- okay?"

Asked Adam as he placed a hand on the man's shoulder propping him up-but as he said this the man with clearly not long left placed some sort of book in his chest-

"Take- It...-I thank you- Use It Well..."

And as the man died- Adam's Zhen Qi did nothing to stop his bleeding as if it was negated by this man- for some reason - and then a bright light exploded out that shook Adam back- and the man's body slowly turned into bright blue light as it headed straight for the book in his arms.

And as Adam's eyes opened he realised that he wasn't in the same world anymore as the place he was in was something blank with everything and yet nothing at all, it was indescribable but suddenly unknown characters appeared in front of him and then a sky appeared with grass below him-

And a multitude of stars in the skies- as if he was in a painting-

It was English that appeared in the sky a language that his predecessor never bothered to learn as he'd never need it-

And thus this Adam didn't know what words the sky was saying-

"What does this even mean?"

As Adam said this the language changed into something he could recognise and he read the sky once more-

[Welcome Encounter Number 9- this is a dimension within the scroll that you received- from Encounter Number 8 as he transferred his ownership to you-]

"Wasn't this a book or something?"

As he said this new words appeared-

[No- it was merely inside the book as a hiding place-]

Carrying on the sky continued-

[I am the Encounter Scroll passed through numerous dynasties and countless civilisations- appearing in different forms throughout history and whatever you call miracles and events.

I appear in every generation waiting for a host and only 8 times have I been found you are the 9th Encounter- and within this scroll is knowledge and wisdom, skills and the essences of the last 8 Encounters all spread throughout history-

And from your soul- it's obvious you were merged with a soul from another dimension- one weaker than ours- believe it or not but your skills are paltry when compared to the masters of this dimension as this dimension is infinite in size and ever-expanding unlike yours Li Yan- the 9th Encounter.]

"So my skills aren't as great as I thought huh?"

[Right indeed- you were once a frog in the well now you are out of it and the skies limitless- as experienced by your Encounter Predecessors-

This scroll is made to benefit you with knowledge skills and powers- but that is if you are ready to inscribe your encounters-

So will you?]

Hearing this and with a reality shock, Adam was out of it- the shock one experiences when you realise that you are the fool and not the intellectual- his skills were nothing compared to the greatest masters- that meant he was not as powerful as he thought he was-

No this was a delusion he forced himself to believe that he was stronger than the masters in this dimension when in fact he was the weakest-

The Sage Realm was the bottom of the well and he was the toad who stood on the boot but was stood on by the top- by the skies.

But he had a chance now the skies had given him a second choice- and he had to take it-

"How do I do that-?"

And on cue, the skies began to write-

[Write down all of your encounters and you will be able to level up- if you will- and with the points, you amass through writing down your experiences you will be able to earn skills- techniques and more.]

And thus the bright lights ended as Adam found he was right back to the minimart taking out his phone, not a second had passed and he got up-

But as he got up he fell once more- as his dominant Li Yan side was continuously being merged with Adam's side- they had reached equilibrium but this reality check had caught him lacking.

Thus this equilibrium was broken as his body felt the pain of his internal conflict as this time the souls were being crushed to form a new one- and so with this severe pain blood was spouting out of his mouth as his internals were crushed with the scroll held deeply within his arms-

And for a while, Li Yan's soul split from Adam's body as gradually he disappeared into a strange red light coating Adam with his skills and his knowledge- his resentment and enmity held from his previous life ended as his reincarnation was over as Adam regained balance- standing-

Still weak but okay to walk home he headed there slowly as he felt the breeze of wind fluttering about with great tenacity.

Adam was back as he became the dominant side with all of Li Yan's knowledge and skills- as his being completely merged with Adam instead of lingering on with resentment- that would've led him on to become a ghastly phantom-

It made sense especially when he used his killing intent- the people he killed were screaming at him as his killing intent began to change into that of a red phantom- it was indeed unnatural and the natural balance had been established finally.

The true being stood now with a complete soul and all abnormalities cleared he was stronger than before and his killing intent was back to normal with nor more unnatural resentment.

He was back to normal.

- Adam's Apartment:-

Once home- Adam went straight to his living room as he placed the book that contained the scroll down and with the eyes of a madman opened it only to find that the book was hollow all the way through-

With a plain sand coloured scroll in the middle - grabbing the scroll carefully he undid the ropes at the end and unfolded it on his table-

Like a map of sorts, the scroll was laid flat on the table as the scroll began transforming from a blank scroll to one with words saying-

[To Utilise-

1. Blood is your ink.

2. Energy that you call Zhen Qi- needs to be inputted with the blood.

3. Lying about your encounter's causes a temporary energy drain on your body.

4. So be honest Encounter 9.

5. Continuous usage with Zhen Qi inputs leads to a greater base reserve for you.

6. The more you use the Encounter Scroll the better for you.

7. Skills can be gained through gaining points from your Encounters- like a game.]

Reading that he bit his finger with enough force that blood spurted out on the scroll and as it happened the blood became a light red as Adam condensed Zhen Qi within each droplet of blood.

And with skilled movements, he began to write about what happened today-

'Today I was involved within a fight- and destroyed 25 people, erased 1 guys memory- broke two guys legs and broke another's wrist- And I saved a homeless man from death...'

And as he began to write with his blood the letters gradually disappeared as if having been fed to the scroll-

And as he wrote the event became present in his mind as he relived through it all-

As he remembered splitting Su Yan's father in two and erasing Su Yan's memories- and also destroying all the bodyguards.

So when Adam finished writing his experiences today down the book- then began to write by itself-

[For your first inscription you have gained bonus points- and the content in your inscriptions was mostly action-based and also a bit heroic in that you saved a life-

You have been granted 2,000 points due to your action-filled day- so continue inscribing your Encounters- Encounter 9!]

And as he read this he realised that his bodies Zhen Qi had been effectively finished for the day as he had exhausted it all in writing down all of his encounters today.

As he leaned back on his chair in exhaustion.

He closed his eyes and gradually fell asleep for the day.
