Simon

"Now how do you say this letter?" Simon asked the frowning Nalia. For a few seconds she didn't speak, only glaring at the book in front of her. "D." she mumbled, causing him to smile, "Good, and how do you say the whole word?" This time it took Nalia a bit longer before she answered, she kept glaring at the book until, "Geoodee!" This caused Simon to chuckle and shake his head, "No, it might seem that way if you pronounce the word as though each letter was alone, but if you have letters in a word they become shorter, for example, this word would be, good."

Nalia frowned, and opening her mouth no more than an inch said"So you don't pronounce the E, and two O turn into a U?" Simon nodded, "Yeah, it's complicated but if you study every single day, you'll master it in no time." This caused Nalia to smile, "Thank you, for teaching me that is."

Hearing someone approach Simon looked up and frowned, "What are you doing here Karron?" He felt Nalia flinch next to him and glared at the knight. Breathing out heavily Ser Karron stepped in front of Nalia and in one fluid motion went down on one knee, "Miss Nalia," The little girl looked up to meet the man's cold eyes. "I deeply apologise for what I did to you yesterday. It was never my intention to hurt you, I simply lost control of my emotions." He hung his head, "I do not ask for your forgiveness, I only ask that you continue your training under me when you've fully recovered."

Glancing over at Nalia, Simon saw her eyes narrow and before he could stop her she had already stood up. "Ser Karron Lonmouth!" The knight looked up, his eyes filled with anticipation. Simon flinched as a loud crack resounded around the main square. "Stand," Nalia said harshly, "how dare you kneel before me like some servant begging his lady for a favour?" The knight's eyes filled with confusion, "Nalia?" The little girl grabbed the man by his face, "I said stand!"

Simon quickly stood up ready to defend her if Karron lost control, but strangely the smiling knight simply sighed and got up off the ground. Turning to Nalia, Simon saw her smile, "Good, I couldn't bear to see a man of such talent as yourself kneel before me." She then walked past him towards the storehouse, "Now, please teach me how to fight."

"No!" Simon said firmly. "I won't allow you to spar till you're fully recovered." Smiling Ser Karron patted him on the shoulder, "Of course, we won't be sparing, I'll only teach her some moves and train her body." Cursing he began walking after Nalia, "Alright, but I'll be watching."

Yes it's a very short chapter but you'll get another one in a few hours so look forward to that
