Reading the words inscribed on the white paper, I realized that the damage this time was much greater, I practically had several months of memories erased, something that hadn't happened before, or at least on that scale. However, that brought more worries to my mind.
What had made me rise to the top was my power, which, although I still hadn't found a purpose to it or the origin of why I possessed something like that, it wasn't an understatement to say that was what had made me great, but now, knowing that this same gift was affecting me, even if it was something a little 'must have' like some memories, was still enough to set off the alarms that something wasn't right, had my scale of abilities diminished? Because this didn't happen before, even when I summoned several witches.
I didn't know, but I was mindful that this would be an important issue to address from now on, especially since my power in this world, one in which I had climbed to the top tooth and nail, depended on it.
"You know what's important now is that we get back to Xandar. You know that, don't you?" Valka spoke to me, causing me to take my gaze from the book's pages and look at her.
From what I had read, my purpose in this place was to find a way for Valka to get pregnant, just like all of her sisters, this was not about a personal longing, but in a way to repay all that the witches had done for me... And that had caused me almost to die.
"We'll leave..." I confirmed, putting my hand on her leg and smiling at her, "But first we'll take what we came for, I promised you, and I don't plan to leave empty-handed."
"There is some news you should know... I think it will interest you", Valka told me, taking out of her clothes a letter, the strange thing about the letter was that it had the characteristic glow of objects that were under the effects of some enchantment, which meant that the letter was of the utmost importance. What made it special? Well, for it to be enchanted, it meant that a witch sent it, and that was only done if the material in the letter was relevant to the point of having a title as a state secret.
Valka, being a witch, caused that the magic, and in this case; the enchantment of the letter, did not affect her, since as the saying in Xandar said; 'a witch could not assassinate another witch'. This meant that only witches could pass these messages to each other since others would be affected.
Thus, Valka was able to hold the letter without any problems, and nullifying the effect of the enchantment on it, caused the letter to take on its normal appearance, and then handed it to me. "This arrived a moon ago on Xandar, sent by Trade Agreements Secretary Janna Betchen, apparently she has a marriage proposal awaiting your approval."
Interested to know what it was about, I opened the letter, breaking the seal of the Bletchen house, which showed a spider of the caves, Janna was one of the three siblings that made up the family, along with her parents Nathan and Maria, who, together with her brothers Galio and Lucios, made up the most important noble family of Xandar, so the decision of a marriage between Janna and someone else had to be taken with great care.
It was for this reason that I imposed the law of becoming nominal head of the noble families of Xandar, with the sense of safeguarding the power of Xandar within Xandar, and in extreme cases, approving a marriage to someone outside Xandar only if it would benefit Xandar greatly.
"Tywin Lannister?" I asked, getting a little surprised when I got to the part where it mentioned the possible spouse, "yes, apparently Tywin Lannister was the one with the proposal, according to the words said by Susan, the witch who brought the letter, she mentioned that Tywin Lannister is very interested in marrying Lady Janna." Valka commented, giving me some clarity on the matter.
"But how did Janna end up in Westerland? As far as I know, she maintains is a hold in the Narrow Sea, not in the waters of the Sea of Dusk." That showed that Xandarian influence was making a presence all over the world, something that in the long run would be very beneficial to Xandar, since unlike Yi Ti, which was a very large and prosperous empire, it did not have much intervention in the world.
And while this was due to the Century of Blood and the decline of its emperors, with Xandar it was the opposite, and the agreements made with the North, Dorne, Braavos, and the Iron Throne spoke to that.
"From what I heard, Lady Janna wanted to personally attend a meeting between some Westerland lords and Xandarian merchants, though, beyond her interests in that, I have no idea, you know as well as I do that, while she is very good at her job, she is a bit crazy," Valka told me, giving a very accurate description of Janna.
I had the pleasure of meeting her a few moons ago, and while she is a very beautiful woman, with almost angelic beauty, she did not take away the aspect of evidencing that she is missing a few screws, perhaps more than four, judging by the reports I was getting from her, and her methods... direct and bloody methods of solving problems.
"Well, this union has many advantages, Lord Tywin is the one who controls the Seven Kingdoms right now, plus he is the richest man in Westeros, through him and Lannisport, we will be able to make our way to the west coast of Westeros, and start our plans in the Sea of Dusk and the North Channel issue," I said to Valka, interested to know what she thought of all this.
"Janna agrees with this, she made it clear that she likes the idea of being a Lady on her own, especially if it is with someone well off, she is jealous and fascinated by power, I think Lord Tywin will be in trouble very soon, besides..." Valka started to tell me her point of view, telling me what she knew about what that decision would bring to Jana, and she agreed, thinking about it, it wasn't strange coming from Janna, especially because she was crazy. She was like a cross between Lysa Tully, Ygritte, and Cersei.
"We will be able to control all of Westerland through Janna, it's a win or win," Valka finished saying, both of them concluding without needing to speak, "Send a witch to Westerland as soon as possible, preferably the one who is a rider of the fastest wyvern, I want Lady Janna notified that her betrothal to Lord Tywin is accepted, tell her that her wedding will be in Westerland first, and then she will have to travel with Lord Tywin to Xandar to marry under the Dosh Khaleen."
Valka nodded, acknowledging that the idea of them marrying under the Westeros religion first was the most accepted, since Janna would live most of her time in Westerland from now on, as for a ceremony under the Dosh Khaleen, it was based on marrying under the anointing of the religion practiced throughout Xandar.
Previously the Dosh Khaleen were the group of widowed Khaleesi of the Dothraki, leaders of the Dothraki religion, interpreted omens as well as being a ruling group within the Dothraki hierarchy before I came to Vaes Dothrak. Now, they are the emissaries of extending my rule over the men, women, and children of Xandar, preaching about my greatness leading all religion around me in Xandar, and calling me Father of the Newcomers. Now the Dosh Khaleen had real power, both inside and outside the renewed Vaes Dothrak, and they were my voice in all things religious on Xandar, being greatly respected, feared, and revered.
"Also, tell her to inform Tywin Lannister, that I will be attending his wedding in Westerland myself," I said lastly to Valka, who looked at me quizzically, "are you seriously going to a place as backward as the Seven Kingdoms are? You are the king, you can force Lady Janna to marry first in Xandar and then go to marry in Westerland if what you want is to meet Lord Tywin quickly, I find no reason for you to travel there". Valka questioned me, surprised that I had decided to go to Westeros at last, since I had never traveled beyond the western borders of Xandar.
"It is necessary for our plans, I must get to know Westeros, and visit certain important Lords that Xandar has ties with, and Westerland will be a good start, I don't plan to get to that shithole they call a capital, so since I will be attending Lord Tywin's wedding, it is accurate to state that all the important Lords will be there, including the king," I explained to Valka, it was time to set foot in Westeros.
