In the middle of a silenced night where only the drops of rain could be heard. The sudden wailing of a child woke the villagers. It came from the forest.
Kweku oh kweku where are you a lady screamed as she dashed into the forest. But did not enter. Kweku I always tell you not to enter the forest. Your ears are stubborn they do not listen. She stared into the dark forest. A figure came running. Panting the girl said. Auntie, what happened?
Kweku is missing.
Abba look for the village chief to gather all the villagers. Even though Abba was tired she knew it was no laughing matter. Even the toughest of villagers did not dare enter the forest alone.
Abba went looking for others. One by one all the villagers woke up.
Maybe he ventured out into the forest the village chief said as he looked into the woods. With fear.
He and the other village chiefs had made an agreement that if one of their villagers ventured out alone. The other villages do not have help.
Kweku! The mother said.
I will look for Kweku.
Abba said
Abba you won't leave I won't lose another. The mother said.
Jingle, Jingle A Lady who wore many beads came. Her face was covered with a black cloth and her hair was wrapped with a Duku. The only thing one could see was a wrinkled hand which held a staff.
I assume you are looking for Kweku if so let us talk under the canopy.
A lady of age said.
They all moved under the canopy but when they arrived they noticed.
Abba is missing.
Oh, these children.
I am willing to look for them. Oboa, A woman in her thirties said. Her figure was a bit round. Her hair was braided.
So will I.others gain the courage to go along?
….
Abba's POV
We were on our way to the canopy. Auntie was busy talking to the other Villagers.
It was late in the evening my eyes were urging me to shut, but I couldn't Kweku was gone. I have to stay awake. So hastened my steps. I tripped over a rock but quickly stabilized myself and looked left and right if anyone saw that. Embarrassment is an experience that takes place in your mind. Mother always said. That wasn't true. Abba shook her head. Kweku and his Friends always laugh at me when I trip over something. I raised my head to see that the others were gone! I, inwardly panicked.
Unexpectedly the wails of a Baby were heard. It sounds as if it is right beside me. Abba looked down to find nothing. Maybe I will see the child if I take another step. Step by Step Abba was lured into the forest. In the heart of the Forest, the mind suddenly cleared.
Where am I? Is anyone there? She shouted at the top of her lungs. She was frightened. Inside the forest was pitch black I couldn't even see my hands she moved them at different angles trying to see them. The trees often made rustling noises and the crickets chirped of beat. It shivered me to the bones. I quickly flinched backwards and inspected my surroundings whiles covering my mouth with one hand.
