Sudden Change

Adonis Lock is lying on his bed staring at the roof of his shabby room.

While looking at the roof, he thinks 'Should I just end it all now...'

Tired from all the bullying from the other disciples and being treated worse than garbage, he sincerely contemplates the idea, but his fatigue gets to him first as he slowly falls asleep.

Adonis wakes up looking up at an evening sky.

"What the...! Where am I?!"

A voice he had never heard before answers his question.

"You are currently in my Soul Domain."

Adonis immediately gets up and turns around, and he sees a handsome man with long black hair and wearing exquisite robes that make him look otherworldly.

"Who are you?" Adonis says, trying to be as calm as possible

"I am your ancestor, Adonis, my name is Ladon."

"Wha- My ancestor!"

"Yes, and I have chosen you, Adonis, to inherit my legacy."

Adonis was in complete shock at what he was hearing. Not only is he meeting his ancestor, but he is also receiving a legacy from him.

Legacies are treasures that come from cultivators of the past, Most of the time they are extremely valuable or extremely powerful. These treasures; if found, can change the entire life of the person that found them.

"Wha-wait please give me some time to understand this..."

Ladon sits on the ground, not uttering a single word while Adonis tries wrapping his head around what is happening.

"Uhmm...is this a dream or something?" Adonis says,

"No, this certainly most not a dream, you are in my soul domain and I will give you my legacy."

Adonis keeps calm after hearing what Ladon said.

"...Is there a reason you're giving it to me and not someone more capable."

"Hmm?" Ladon says, seemingly curious by what Adonis means by "capable"

"I mean, there are plenty more people that are more worthy of legacies than me, and since you're my ancestor you should know that my siblings would be more worthy than me," Adonis says while reminiscing on the past.

"...pfft"

Adonis looks at Ladon surprised.

"Pfft...hahahahaha!" Ladon laughs loudly.

"Boy, I don't look for people that have an extreme amount of talent like your siblings."

"Huh?" Adonis says confused by what he means.

"The reason I chose you for my legacy is that you remind me of me when I was your age."

"I remind you of you?"

"Yes, you see, I also had quite lackluster talent in my younger years, but I was able to overcome it to become what I am today."

"How!" Adonis says, really interested in his answer.

"Through a shit ton of effort and quite a bit of luck," Ladon says as if showing off.

Adonis looks at his ancestor with a myriad of emotions when he says that.

"Alright enough joking around, do you want to receive my legacy or not, Adonis," Ladon says, immediately becoming serious.

Adonis stays quiet for a few seconds thinking about it. Although he doesn't see himself worthy of a legacy, if he had a choice on whether he wants one or not, well it's pretty obvious what he choose.

"Of course, I will be honored to receive your legacy, ancestor," Adonis says

Ladon smiles "Well then, I hope you will grow to be an amazing person and cultivator in the future, Adonis."

Ladon then raises his hand and points it towards Adonis as a light gathers around it. It then shoots at Adonis, covering him completely.

Adonis simply closes his eyes as he feels and readies himself for the change that will divert his fate onto a path, completely unreadable.
