Chapter 4: The Call of the Wild
Roland awoke with a start, his senses on high alert as he scanned the dim confines of the cave for any sign of danger. When he deemed the coast clear, he let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding, his heart still pounding in his chest from the remnants of his dream.
With a grimace, he realized that the fire had long since died out, leaving him shrouded in darkness once more. Ignoring the ache in his muscles, Roland pushed himself upright, his stomach growling in protest at the lack of sustenance.
As a seasoned camper on Earth, Roland knew a thing or two about foraging for food in the wilderness. With a determined grimace, he ventured outside the safety of the cave, his eyes scanning the dense forest for any sign of edible vegetation.
Amidst the towering trees and echoing cries of distant creatures, Roland's keen eyes caught sight of wild mushrooms and fruits hanging from the branches above. With cautious steps, he plucked them from their perches, his hunger driving him forward in his quest for sustenance.
But it was a small tree nestled amidst the giants of the forest that truly caught Roland's attention. Its only fruit shimmered softly in the dappled light, resembling a peach but with an otherworldly glow that set them apart from their mundane counterparts.
Hurriedly, Roland plucked the glowing fruit and returned to the safety of the cave, where he reignited the dwindling flames and settled down to feast upon his meager bounty.
As he bit into the succulent flesh of the fruit, a warmth spread through Roland's body, suffusing him with newfound vitality. To his astonishment, he felt his injuries from the previous day begin to fade, replaced by a surge of strength and vigor that left him feeling invincible.

It was a revelation that filled him with both wonder and excitement, the promise of newfound power coursing through his veins like a wildfire.
Bolstered by his newfound abilities, Roland resolved to put them to the test. With newfound confidence, he fashioned crude weapons from the materials at hand—a sharpened rock for a knife, a sturdy branch for a spear—and set out into the forest in search of prey.
Along the way, he found a river and quenched his thirst,he laid traps and snares, his mind sharpened by instinct and necessity as he stalked his quarry through the underbrush. But despite his best efforts, the elusive creatures of the forest remained just out of reach, slipping through his grasp like ghosts in the night.
Defeated but undeterred, Roland returned to the safety of the cave, his belly still empty but his spirit unbroken. With a weary sigh, he settled down to rest, his dreams filled with visions of the untamed wilderness that lay beyond the safety of his makeshift shelter.
