Chapter 68: The Ryuushin Tribe

Isha softly started cleaning the boy his back, which made him cry for some reason.

"Isha are you being with the boy?" "Yes I am, but when I started gently cleaning his back he just started to cry." "Now now, don't be sad, aunty Masiko is here for you."

"Isha look, I know you did not know about this and you did not mean the boy any harm. But did you know that he was one of the few experiments who survived the wickedness of the Ryuushin?"

Isha shook her head and kept listening.

"Did you hear that the Ryuushin was working on a new kind to breed for their army? Something about crossing their tribe's DNA with that of another tribe.

The reason why the boy started to cry is that he still has wounds on his back since he needs to adjust to the Ryuu DNA. When you were trying to clean its back didn't you feel something across his shoulders to his lower back?

Those wounds are from the wings of the Ryuu tribe.

Isha looked at the boy on his back and was shocked that she didn't notice them before. They were so large. "How could they do this?? He is just a baby.

Damn those bastards." "Sorry for hurting you little guy I'll be more careful next time," Isha said. She gently patted the boy on his head and smiled.

The boy clung to Masiko and tried to smile back at Isha.

"We will start moving at dawn so let's get enough rest tonight," Masiko said and stepped out of the hot water spring.

Once both Isha and Masiko were out of the spring they put out the fire and went to sleep.

~The Next Morning At Sunrise~

Masiko and Isha started to follow the trails of the Ryuushin the next day.

For a while, they thought that the group was far from where they were at that very moment. But to their surprise, it seemed that the group was closer to the hot spring than they thought. It seemed that the trails were leading them back to their village and from the look of things was leading them to the Yami no Yama better known as the Mountain of Darkness.

It was not surprising that the Ryuushin tribe was stationed there, but the most surprising thing was the fact that it seemed to be further away from the city hidden in the eclipse Kerare. The main capital of the Lunarian State.

Thinking about what Ryuushin was planning Isha shuddered.

"We... need to hurry towards Kekare! T-They will... they will make sure there are no more survivors". Isha said while panicking.

"Or they will take more of our kin for their experiments," Masiko said.

Isha and Masiko decided to hurry towards Kekare but realized that they couldn't let the boy get in danger again.

Isha told Masiko about her grandmothers' house who should still be secured because of the jungle environment around it. "So it's decided then?" Isha asked.

"Yes, we will bring the boy to your grandparents to assure his safety while we try and rescue the rest of our tribes."

Isha and Masiko went as fast as they could towards their destination.

They kept running and running when suddenly they could hear voices in the distance. They decided that it would be best to go around the place where the voices came from so they could keep going and wouldn't behold up.

This was a wise decision because now Isha and Masiko could hear the voices laughing, they slowly but surely closed in on the laughter. Yet the once making the noise didn't notice the two-woman passing by.

"Faster... faster," Isha thought. "Come on faster Masiko we must hurry!"

Isha quickly morphed into wolf form and a beautiful, yet elegant grey wolf with a nice and big fluffy tail. Then Masiko quickly followed and morphed into a mesmerizing cream-colored brown wolf with the most amazing fluffy grey ears.

They picked up the pace and made sure to hold on to the boy tightly.

They ran and ran over the branches, through the woods, and across the river straight to Kerare. Just when they finally arrived at the old worn-out house hidden within the trees they realized it was beginning to rain. Quickly Masiko knocked on the door.

*Knock* *knock* ... *knock* *knock* *silence*

"Grandma... Grandma are you there?! Masiko yelled."

She kept knocking on the door, now with more force than before.

*Bam* *bam* *bam* *bam*

Please open up grandma... please say that you are there!!

Suddenly the door opened. Inch for inch the door creaked as it open.

At the opening of the door, a wrinkly old woman was smiling at the woman on the other side of the door. "Grandma!! You're Alive!"

Masiko jumped and hugged her grandmother tightly because she was just so relieved to see her smiling grandmother be still alive.

"Come child... come inside quickly now..."

"I am pleased to see that you're still alive my dear."

"I can say the same grandmother I am so happy to see you're still okay."

Tell me child why did you come here? It is much too dangerous to be around this place now with the Ryuushin on the loose."

"We found one of the Surviving children of our tribe grandmother,

but we were hoping that you could take care of him while we go on and save the others.

Could you please do that for us?"

"Dear oh dear.. look at him still so young and not a care in the world this little fellow. But child what could the two of you do? You will surely be killed..."

"No grandmother has fate in us, we will save the others and we will fight together.

We have help from above the Kyuubi no Hikari gave blessed my friend here with the Hikari no Chikara. If we free our fellow tribe members we must be able to give them this blessing as well giving us the power to fight back against the powers of darkness.

It's okay if you can take care of this boy,

we probably won't come back here so please take good care of him.

He was the son of a very good friend of mine who was very dear to me...

Sadly he died trying to protect his wife and son in our village during the Ryuushin rade...

Now we know what they came for... So we must help the others and fight back to assure that this kind of wicked thing will never happen again... We will go on our way now grandmother."

"We must make haste and warn the people at Kerare of the attack that will follow in the next few days!" Isha opened the door of the old house to go on their way to Kerare, but just at that moment, a person fell through the door opening...

It was a soldier from the village where Isha came from.

Isha and Masiko took him inside and asked her grandparents to take care of his wounds. After laying the soldier down on the bed the two could finally continue on their journey towards Kerare but just when they wanted to step out of the door the man started gasping for air.

"Aaaarrgghh *huff* *huff* Run Margareth run... *cough* Don't let them catch you."

The man screamed in agony. Losing consciousness in the process.

"He must have had a rough time behind him, poor fellow.

Go on sweety, you need to warn the others at the city to make sure the same fate as this young

man will not be waiting for them."

A little worried about the young man and the city Isha and Masiko rushed out of the door towards Kerare. On their way there it was clear they needed to make haste since Masiko noticed signs of the trail they were following. A few days went by without much worry as they slowly closed in on the city. It was evening and there was a full moon on the horizon.

Halfway towards the city, Isha noticed a campsite with logs on the ground as if a group used them to sit on. Masiko brushed her hand alongside the logs and noticed that the logs were still fresh.

Just when they thought it was safe to lower their guard a little, something behind them made the bushes rustle. Quickly they hid behind a hill close by.

They could hear something getting closer; *crunch* *crunch* ~ *crunch* *crunch*

*rustle* *rustle* "whatever you do keep as quiet as possible" Isha whispered.

Something slowly came out of the bushes. *growl*

Isha carefully tried to look over her shoulder towards the bushes where the sounds were coming from. It seemed to be a hellhound. "It must have lost the group" Isha whisperer.

"This must be our lucky break. We haven't eaten in days so we must make sure to get this guy. Yet we still need to be careful, these creatures are known for their extraordinary sense of smell and hearing."

What might this legend have in story for us next?
