Chapter 9

As Mark and Doctor Irene waits for the equipment, Doctor Irene suddenly asks Mark " So how did you met James?" James chuckles and says " Well, we went to the same school. There are 4 of us close friends. I'm one of them" "Oh..." Doctor Irene says in surprise.

A sudden knock on the door and Mark gets up , walking to the door. He slowly opens the door while holding his pistol and sees that it's the equipment. He grabs the equipment boxes and places it beside Doctor Irene. "There, should have the exact equipment to treat James sprained ankle" James said as you places the boxes. "Alright, I'll get to work right now" Doctor Irene said as she begin to take out the equipment to treat James's sprained ankle.

James woke up a little later and looks around. He then tries to get up and stand but yells in pain, sitting back down. Doctor Irene rushes to James and calms him down. "Don't get up, James. Your ankle is sprained" Doctor Irene said in a sad voice. "I need to protect you though..." James replied back immediately.

Doctor Irene grabs James's hands and squeezes it tightly. "I'm going to be fine, I know my guardian angel is somewhere out there ready to protect me when I'm in trouble." James can't argue with that statement without exposing himself, so he just kept quiet. Just then, there was a knock on the door.

"Should I get the door?" Doctor Irene asks James. Mark isn't with them at that time, so it isn't safe to open the door. " Just open it, but bring this with you." James replies and hands her a gun. Doctor Irene nods and walks to the door. She breathes slowly and opens the door with cautious and sees General Hanks. " Uncle Hanks?" Doctor Irene looks at General Hanks, surprised. "Why are you here?" Doctor Irene immediately asks." Hi, Irene. Long time no see." General Hanks says with a smile.

"How's that ankle doing, captain?" General Hanks says in a joking manner. "Not good but not bad, general." James replies with a chuckle. " You know Doctor Irene, general?" James asks curiously. "Yes James, she's my niece" General Hanks says. " Back to what I came here for, I've evaluated your situation and I decided that the military will put you under protection for the time being until we figure out who the people targeting you. For now James can't really protect you so our hope is Captain Mark. He will move in here for the time being until James recovers." James and Doctor Irene nods. "Alright, I'll be leaving then." General Hanks gets up and walks out of the house"
