In a world where everyone absorbed the power and physiques of the foes they kill, he stood as the strongest and the most ruthless. Until he was killed by a mysterious entity known as Melina and returned to the past. With his ego buried deep within the soul of his former self, he lived through his everyday life as a human. But not for long. **** The start might be a bit slow-paced.

Combat Evaluation

The sun dipped over the horizon and the full moon arrived to dominate the night sky.

Stars were faint but visible. Somewhere out there, a civilization capable of eradicating humanity in a day lived.

Under such sky, the inner city of the Empire transitioned into its night phase.

Some people went home, some stayed overnight and some went out to have fun, which meant that the streets were empty except for the occasional security patrol.

Some people though, were gutsy enough to oppose the Emporer and wander through the night, procuring and consuming drugs prohibited by His Majesty's laws.

One group of people was having the time of their lives under the moonlight. The drugs that they have bought elevated their mind to heaven, leaving their bodies to act as mindless acts.

The corrupt governors held back the patrol troops in their areas, giving those junkies freedom to roam like zombies.

A shadow walked out of the alleyway, a hood covering his face.

The moonlight highlighted his figure, not tall but not short, not big but not small either yet an indescribable sense of dread oozed out of his very being.

The reason for this was simple.

[Mission: Subjugation]

[Description: Several people have used illegal substances to get high. Subdue those people before they do something stupid and call the ambulance. Be careful, the people are not in their right state of mind so there's no telling what they'll do.]

[Progress: 0/10]

[Mission Difficulty: Low]

[Mission Danger: Minimal]

[Reward: 50 Exp]

[Penalty for failure: Loss of Exp, A chance to get injured]

Eve confirmed reading the mission once again.

His breath was shaky and so was his arm. The little idea he had when he was dying on the couch had succeeded, although it took some time to be implemented.

His hand reached out to the holographic blue screen in front of him and tried to grasp it, but the screen blurred as if it turned into a mist upon contact.

He removed his hand and the mission window went back to its former ethereal self.

'Status.'

[Open Impurity vault]

'This thing is so unreal.' Eve marveled at his Harvest Condition for the umpteenth time in the last two days.

If he had to nitpick one thing though, was his stats. They were too low to his liking.

He shook his head. It couldn't be helped, that although he used to do some exercise at home, he was still severely lacking in physical ability.

It was the reason why Melina decided to entrust this mission to him. Intoxicated people were dangerous, no doubt, but they were slow and sluggish. They wouldn't be able to bring out their full strength under the effect of the drug.

'In that state, even I could overpower them.'

He took a glance behind him, to see a man with a face mask.

The man nodded and Eve took a step forward.

First up, he observed everyone, made a mental list, and made his move.

Eve slowly sneaked behind the shortest zombie girl roaming the streets and attacked.

He grabbed her by the collar, and kicked her in the leg, ultimately making her fall on her back.

[Mission Progress Updated]

[Progress: 1/10]

Eve looked at the man, pointed at the girl, and got up.

'Perfect. None of the 'zombie's are aware.'

His next target was another woman, this time she seemed a little older. She had the signature walk of a zombie, a clear sign that her motor skills were not up to standard as a result of the drug injection.

He took her down in a similar fashion as well.

'Now, onto the third target.'

Like a cat, his steps were very light, allowing little or no sound to be heard by his prey.

His eyes were locked into the back of the man, and the glass beer bottle in his hand.

Maybe because he stared a little too intensely, or the man was a fortune teller, when Eve got close, the man suddenly spun one hundred eighty degrees and swung his beer bottle.

If not for the fact that he was intoxicated, the beer bottle would have smashed Eve's skull open.

Eve ducked to avoid the sudden retaliation and grabbed hold of one of his legs.

Then, as he stood up, he lifted the leg off the ground, causing the man to lose his balance and fall flat on the concrete with his face.

[Defeated an intoxicated Non-Combatant middle-aged Human Male]

[Combat Evaluation]

[Combat Time: 16/20. +16 Exp]

[Combat Ability: 6/20. +6 Exp]

[Combat Damage: 20/20. +20 Exp]

[Combat Lethality: 4/20. +4 Exp]

[Combat Efficiency: 0/20. +0 Exp]

[Acquired Exp: 46 Exp]

[Final Evaluation: C-]

'So that swing made the algorithm count it as a combat huh? C- grade, that's pretty good for my first real 'fight'. But the most important thing is that I got some Exp.

I can use Exp to increase my stats, skills, my level or buy Impurity. Exp is a virtual currency used by the Harvest Condition so I can technically acquire an infinite amount of them.

I can acquire Exp by fulfilling missions Melina assigns me or by fighting, but the latter has a limitation.

Every combat I participate in gets evaluated under 5 categories. If I complete all of them, I can get 100 Exp max and maybe some bonus for completing all of them.

Which boils down to 120 Exp per fight. And the exp doesn't scale with the strength of my opponents either, so I can gain the same amount of exp by fighting a baby and a master martial artist as long as I perform well enough and win. But I'm sure Melina added something to prevent that.

I should try to make the most out of this mission.'

First look at the system. Comment if you have any suggestions or feedback, I'm always looking to improve.
