So naturally they used the alternative means of driving force that is these camels.

With that they came to the city of Gnore.

While they are coming over they found the breathless Merck clan members that are trying their best to adapt back to the desert environment.

The technotrix clan members that survived use their weapons to hunt down the Merck clan members.

The compasses here are made of special materials that would react to the magnetic waves generated by the cities nearby.

The needle is not magnetic instead it is a magnetic material that would point towards the strong waves of magnetism.

Most of the cities have erected a tower at the center with a lump of material that is orange in color covered with three metallic rings like the atom symbol encased on a glass orb.

The metal rings rotate around the orange colored lump at the center and it would emit the magnetic waves that would attract the needles made out of the same material.

It will not attract any other material.

The needle in the compass also made out of this orange colored material and it would be attracted to the big lump of material.

They called this orange material as parent and child materials.

Other than this purpose of knowing directions, this material is practically useless.

It was not given a name related to magnetic materials.

It is like the big lump is the parent and the small needles are children.

When people go out of the city they would carry compasses with them.

If they are far away they can increase the length of the needle to one meter mechanically with a switch to point a city 1000 kilometers away.

The length of the needle decides the distance of the location from the city.

If there is more than one city with the parent material then it would wave between the two with perfect precision.

The city that is closes has more stable time than the city that is farthest.

Jerry got the child needle and adjusted it for the long range of 500 kilometers.

Then the needle pointed towards the oasis city and then fluctuated a little to the side by a few degrees and then made a 180 degree turn to the direction of the Elven city.

This means that there are cities in that direction.

As for the current location all the three cities are severely damage and only the parent core of the Elven city was still stable.

But they know the direction of the Elven city and move in the opposite direction.

The distance to those cities is not much.

It is just over 400 kilometers.

The oasis city is around 150 kilometers away from the city of Gnore.

Their journey started and it would take then 12 to 15 days before they reached the first city on the other side of the desert.

Actually the desert is very big.

They are just crossing over the small tail like area of the desert.

In the desert there said to be many strange miracles.

But the people can never complete their expedition in the desert. 

This is because the temperature sometimes crosses over 100 degree Celsius causing the people without proper protective equipment to die.

Naturally there are few people that wanted to snatch their big carriage drawn by the monster camels.

But few things float around these people and quickly killed them without saying a word.

After they are killed the core in their body was pulled out carefully.

The camels moved fast but the killing and extraction process was also fast.

They quickly moved out of the range of city of Gnore and there is no one attacking them.

Even the monsters are not there in the desert.

It was completely empty around the area.

So their journey did not have any delays.

The water for the monster camels was already prepared.

They would only drink around 1 liters of water per day during the 400 kilometers of journey.

Even the food they ate is very less.

They are really useful.

After 3 days they arrived at the oasis city or at least what is left of oasis city.

The lake is gone and it was completely covered as if there is no oasis in this place.

Even the buildings are mostly covered in sand.

They passed by the city and Vicky told his girls not to use their power to scan because he fear that they would connect to that strange tree under the lake to cause problems.

Everyone accepted this matter.

While they are passing by they observed that there is not a single person or living thing present in this place.

Unlike the three cities on their side, the buildings here are made of sand stone that is very good at keeping the insides cool but weak against water.

If they were suddenly blown away by the jet of water then everything would be blown away.

Also unlike the cities before the people blown from this oasis city would land in the desert if they are lucky.

If they did not have the compass they could not come back to the city.

So it is not different than being stranded in the middle of the desert without a way to know the directions.

So they would be burnt by the strong sun and die in the desert in a day or two.

As Vicky expected this is what happened here after the sudden stream of water few days ago.
