As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the imposing gates of the City of Radan, two guards stood vigil. Their armor, a sturdy brown metal, gleamed faintly in the fading light.
The first guard, a stocky man named Grald, had short-cropped red hair and a thickset build that filled out his armor. His companion, a lanky fellow called Lorkan, contrasted with his tall frame and scruffy blond beard.
The guards, not known for their tact, were harassing the merchants and travelers entering the city. Their behavior became particularly troubling when they noticed a black-haired young woman with fair skin in the line. With lecherous grins, they called her to the front, insisting that a lady such as herself shouldn't have to wait.
Leaning closer to her, Grald said, "My dear, we'll need to perform a quick search before you can pass through."
The young woman, her eyes filled with unease, inquired politely, "Are there no female guards?"
