Chapter 5

I left my compound with a snap of my fingers. I did not bring my Court Ladies with me and they were saddened by my decision but with a look, they sobered up and quickly went about their business. I did not wish to bring my Court Ladies to the greenhouses, it's cramped and I was about to do some damage control.

I would want to spare them from that at least.

I arrived outside the greenhouses not a second later. The greenhouses were four in total. Large enough to take up acres of land as the peaches that they grow need to be equivalent to the number of residents in Heaven and slightly more. I have a strong team of botanists and gardeners that tend to the peaches.

With the recent break-in, I had to have guards patrolling the boundary that's closest to the greenhouses. It was the first time in centuries that this had to happen. I was there to gain feedback and to gather ideas if they had any. And also, I wanted to see where Aidan had broken through the shield. For that, he needed to be here but I shall summon him later.

After making my rounds on all four greenhouses and gathering feedback from all the staff, I gave them assurance that their concerns are heard, though it might take some time for their concerns to be implemented, I hope they understand. I thanked them for their hard work and left the greenhouse.

It's time to head to the location where Aidan breached Heaven.

However, I need the human who did such a thing. With a snap of my fingers, I summoned the only ever being that infiltrated Heaven and he arrived encased in a bubble - thrashing around like the wild beast he was. He was dropped to the ground in a heap and he went up on all fours, growling.

His growls faltered when he noticed it was me and I raised an eyebrow at his insolence. "There is only one person on this realm that will summon you, monkey," I said. "Why are you still unaccustomed to it?"

The human look unabashed at my question but did not seem to have an answer to it. I grabbed him by the shoulder and yanked him up to his feet. "Now, I want you to behave and tell me where you stepped into Heaven," I said. "Show me where it is."

Aidan looked at me. "Only if you give me some peaches."

I tried hard not to be impatient at his statement. The human trying to get something in return for his help was such a human thing to do. The one thing that you ate is the one thing that got me into trouble, you human idiot. I did not have the heart to tell him that those peaches are not in season at the moment so I simply nodded, urging him to move before my impatience get the better of me.

He led me away from the greenhouse, towards the mountain peaks that seemed to stretch further up into the Heavens. Part of the shield runs behind the peaks, but no immortal had ever thought of approaching Heaven from there, let alone a mortal being like Aidan. How did he manage to fly up seven levels of sky without aid?

I had to get the guards to patrol that treacherous mountainous part of the shield boundary just because of this idiot.

I don't even know what to feel.

All I wanted to do at that moment was to crush his numbskull with my fingers. I wanted to be rid of him quickly. But the power that was hidden in his chest was what stopped me from annihilating this mortal. It has dimmed now thanks to the crown but I was not the only immortal who noticed such power hidden inside him.

How can he have such immense power stored inside him without going insane? How can he be a mere mortal? I don't understand the mechanism behind this monkey and keeping him here may not be good for us. What if he was just a ticking time bomb? Will this power set off suddenly and cause chaos here?

"We're here."

I snapped out of my thoughts and noticed where we stood. In-between two mountain peaks that overlooked the sky. Part of the shield crosses the peaks and I was stunned at how small the space was. I could feel my rage seeping into my pores and I fought hard to keep them at bay. It was so small that one had to crawl through.

"This is ridiculous," I muttered under my breath.

The sheer determination of one deranged being who wanted to enter Heaven would propel him to crawl through a small space that was equally treacherous and dangerous. It was so cramped it was claustrophobic. I turned to look at him pointedly; what possesses him to do such a feat? Desperation?

"There, I showed you," Aidan said almost proudly. "Now, I want some peaches."

I snapped my fingers and one materialised in mid-air which he caught whooping gleefully. He had a huge smile which showed off his dimples; taken aback by his sudden boyish appearance. He pulled me into a huge hug and planted a kiss on my cheek, thanking me loudly before he bounded away like a little child.

Taken aback, I observed his departure, feeling rooted to the spot. It was merely a kiss, yet I found myself inexplicably shaken. I'm no novice; why am I reacting so? My response perplexed me, and I furrowed my brow in confusion. Shaking my head to dispel the unease, I kept my gaze on the small crawl space.

I might need to create a spell just for this tough spot.
