Chapter 51 : Military Ranks

As Nexus gazed upon the Kingsglaive standing before him, a sense of deep satisfaction filled his heart. Although they had not yet achieved a breakthrough in their cultivation levels, their aura had become ten times more formidable than before.

Their meridians had expanded by a hundredfold, allowing them to absorb spirit energy at a much faster rate and laying a solid foundation for their future progress.

However, the downside was that the amount of spirit energy required for them to advance to the next level had also increased significantly. After exchanging a few words with the Kingsglaive, Nexus departed from their quarters.

Three days later, in the Western District, a tall ten-story building stood at the heart of the military headquarters, serving as the administrative hub. At the top of the building, a high-level meeting was underway, with Nexus seated at the head of a conference table surrounded by twenty chairs. Kassius sat to his right, Brutus to his left, and several other military personnel filled the remaining seats.

All military personnel in the conference room have successfully advanced to the First Layer of the Essence Meridian Realm. Additionally, Brutus has achieved a breakthrough to the Peak of the First Layer of the Essence Meridian Realm. This remarkable feat was made possible by Brutus absorbing the essence of a 2 Star demonic beast, as opposed to the usual 1 Star demonic beasts. Furthermore, his meridians have expanded by thirty times, contributing to his rapid progress.

Nexus surveyed the room before addressing the group, "The purpose of this meeting is to clarify the military's ranks and outline the requirements for advancement in rank." The attendees nodded solemnly, their expressions reflecting the gravity of the discussion.

"First and foremost, all three thousand soldiers we have recruited have reached the First Layer of the Essence Meridian Realm. I believe it won't be long before we go to war, " Nexus declared, setting the tone for the meeting.

Now that the military has become strong, it is time to establish various military positions. With these positions in place, soldiers will strive to increase their strength, climb up the ranks, and establish a clear division of labor. Nexus believes that it won't be long before they are called to war, making the military ranks necessary.

"Take a look at the document placed in front of you," Nexus said softly.

All military personnel immediately opened the documents in front of them and began reading with serious expressions. After a few minutes, their expressions changed from shock to bewilderment to confusion as they continued reading.

All eyes turned to Nexus in astonishment, even Kassius appeared slightly shocked by the contents of the documents.

"Your Majesty, this..." Brutus began, looking at Nexus with a bewildered expression.

Nexus chuckled at their reactions. "Yes, what you saw in the document is indeed legitimate."

After giving a brief glance to everyone, he continued, "From now on, the hierarchy of the army will be as follows:

Recruit : First Layer-Ninth Layer of Essence Meridian Realm.

Soldier : First Layer of Spirit Realm-Ninth Layer of Spirit Realm.

Corporal : First Layer of Body Integration Realm-Ninth Layer of Body Integration Realm.

Sergeant : First Layer of True Origin Realm-Ninth Layer of True Origin Realm.

Lieutenant : First Layer of True Void Realm-Ninth Layer of True Void Realm.

Captain : First Layer of Sea Expansion Realm-Ninth Layer of Sea Expansion Realm.

Major : First Layer of True Domain Realm-Ninth Layer of True Domain Realm.

Colonel : First Layer of Law Manifestation Realm-Ninth Layer of Law Manifestation Realm.

General : First Layer of Saint Realm-Ninth Layer of Saint Realm."

Nexus surveyed the expressions of his audience, still reeling from the information he had just shared and continue, " Each position within the military would come with a corresponding salary: recruits earning 50 Gold Coins, soldiers 100 Gold Coins, Corporals 1000 Gold Coins, Sergeants 10,000 Gold Coins, Lieutenants 100,000 Gold Coins, Captains 1 Million Gold Coins, Majors 2 Million Gold Coins, Colonels 3 Million Gold Coins, and Generals 4 Million Gold Coins ".

As Nexus outlined the hierarchy and salary structure he intended to implement, Brutus, Kassius, and the other military personnel were visibly stunned. The prospect of having Saint Realm Cultivators in their ranks left them speechless. Despite their shock, Nexus remained unfazed. He was confident that with the power of the Origin Tower, attracting Saint Realm Cultivators to his Kingdom would be inevitable.

Unbeknownst to them, Nexus harbored ambitious plans for the future. Even Kassius,was taken aback. Although he and Nexus comes from a Level Nine Kingdom but even in the Blue Moon Kingdom having a True Domain Realm Cultivator to serve in the military is extremely difficult much less a Saint Realm Cultivator.

"Let us not dwell on the distant future," Nexus remarked, his tone calm and composed. "I have faith that we will achieve our goals in due time. For now, let us focus on the present."

His words snapped the group out of their stupor. They took a collective deep breath and nodded respectfully in agreement with Nexus's vision.

"Are there any questions?" Nexus inquired, scanning the room. Each individual shook their head, indicating their understanding and acceptance of the military ranks.

"Now that we have covered the military ranks, please share any current challenges you are encountering in the army," Nexus prompted.

Seated to Nexus's left, Brutus exchanged a meaningful glance with a man of around thirty years old. This man, with brown hair and striking cyan eyes, was Blayze Amberflaw, the head of logistics in the military.

Noticing Brutus's signal, Blayze rose from his seat, bowed respectfully to Nexus, and began his report. "Your Majesty, our primary issue at present is the lack of proper weapons and armor within the military," he stated before retaking his seat.

After a moment of contemplation, Nexus turned to Kassius. "How is Thorgrim's progress in the search for mines?" he inquired.

"Your Majesty, Thorgrim has made no advancements in the search thus far," Kassius replied, shaking his head.

Furrowing his brow, it has been a long time since the matters of weapons and armor have been brought out within the military but still they don't have any weapons and armor. War might break out at any moment and if they don't have any proper weapons and armor then it would dangerous.

"Instruct Thorgrim to expedite the search. Time is of the essence, and I expect to see results by the end of the month," Nexus directed Kassius.

"Understood, Your Majesty," Kassius promptly acknowledged.

Addressing Brutus and Blayze, Nexus reassured them. "Rest assured, we will soon have all necessary weapons and armor prepared."

"Yes, Your Majesty," they responded in unison.

With a wave of his hand, Nexus concluded the meeting. "Meeting adjourned," he declared.
