Chapter 63

“You calm me down,” Tobias spoke up out of the blue. David raised his left eyebrow at his boyfriend. “I don’t know why, but there’s something about you that makes me feel more at ease. The stresses of being the CEO don’t seem as daunting and frustrating when you’re around.”

David was taken aback to hear that, but he was also flattered. “Thank you.”

“No, babe. Thank you.”

“Sure. You’re welcome. I guess.”

After that, the two of them were quiet again. He racked his brain for something nice to say, but he came up blank. Fortunately, Tobias filled in the silence moments later.

“This bakery is awesome. The whole place smells great. It has ample space to accommodate everything in it, and it also seems luxurious enough without becoming pretentious and intimidating. I love it.”

David nodded. “Me, too. It helps that the owner is a wonderful friend of mine.”

“True.”
