Chapter-10

Hyacinth was awoken by shuffling sounds coming from the front of her tent.She quickly switched the lantern hanged in her tent on and fastened her night robe around her body. Her fingers crept under her pillow for the shall dagger.

Her body moved close to the flap of the tent . Taking calm breaths, she readied her weapon to strike her intruder.Like expected, the person opened her tent. She rose her dagger ready to stab. She was met with golden curls, so she paused midway with a gasp.

"Your Grace!" She exclaimed dropping the weapon-it made a soft thud on the floor. Heavy footsteps approached her tent and she pulled Cassien in quickly zipping the flap.

"Are you okay Hyacinth? " Came in Regal's concerned voice moments later. Cassien groaned rubbing his head and stared at her towering figure above him. Her weight pressed down on him.

"Shh." She stared at him sourly and pressed her finger on his lip. "Hyacinth, I'm coming in." Regal announced when he heard no movement from her.

"No!I'm naked Regal!" She yelled quickly. She looked down when Cassien stifled a laugh. Her eyes narrowed at him. It was silent before she heard Regal speak again. "Who is with you?" I heard noise." Regal asked in disbelieve. "It's Faust, I was talking to him. I mean he was suffocating me in my sleep." She replied sending Cassien another glare to which he shrugged.

Fault had a look of surprise as he listened to his masters blatant lie. He never did anything so why was she blaming him.

"Okay then good night." Regal said and walked away.

"What are you doing here Your Grace? You nearly made me commit treason!" She exclaimed. "When do you intend to climb off me?" Cassien asked her. She gasped and a blush tinted her cheeks."I'm sorry." She muttered proceeding to climb off him. He sat up and turned to her.

"So what brings you here Your Grace?" She asked hiding her embarrassment by coughing rather loudly."I couldn't sleep." He replied with a blank expression. Collecting her thoughts, she huffed in disbelief.

"Really,then why are you here? You could have let Garnet keep you company." She said soft and took a seat beside him. "I wanted your company Hyacinth. I believe you'll give me answers to this dilemma I'm in." Cassien said.

"Your Grace you'll have to explain this 'dilemma ' you're in to me. She said with a laugh. "I've been having strange dreams these days." He paused as if contemplating to tell her. " I'm sure you have an idea a lucid dream is?" He asked rhetorically.

"It's strange Hyacinth. The dreams continue with each preceeding one being so real. Sometimes I wake up soaked in my own sweat. It's as if things are creeping on me in my sleep." He added with a slight frown.

"What things Your Grace?" Hyacinth asked remembering Hecates words. "I can't tell but they have no form." He said staring at her silently but she was looking at him with strange look. She released a breath and mumbled to herself.

"May I have the permission to examine your amulet?" She aked. Cassien nodded watching her slowly lean closer. She held the amulet between her fingers.

"Your Grace.." She began but he cut in. "Cassien, call me Cassien."He mumbled staring at her wide red eyes from his peripheral vision. "Cassien have you done any rigorous training within the last few days?" She asked staring at the cracks suspiciously.

"Not that I remember. Why what's wrong?" He asked her.She looked looker at it again.It was subtle and no rigorous training could cause it to crack in that manner.Perphaps the weakening of her magic was causing it but she couldn't tell him that.

" Oh it's nothing Casein.Its just that.."She paused staring between his lips and the amulet. Maybe she could use a similar spell Regal used. Her cheeks flushed at the thought of kissing him. "Are you sure you're okay, you look pale." She heard him say but she looked away afraid he would notice her flushed cheeks.

"It's serous right?" He asked. "Not at all but forgive me for being impudent Your Grace, I'll have to kiss you.It's because this is the best way and it uses less mana." She said hurriedly.

He laughed, it wasn't loud but she could clearly tell he was amused. "Is that what you really wanted to do? "He asked chuckling. She couldn't answer him so she had her bowed her in shame.

"You know that I wouldn't mind kissing you Hyacinth. Also, I understand you, so don't be ashamed." He said, lifting her chin with her fjnger.

"I see. Do close your eyes, Cassien. "She smiled. He closed his eyes, waiting for her to make the first move. Soon enough, he felt her lips brush his and a tug on his amulet.

Cassien smiled, wrapping his arms around her waist, and pulled her closer. She gasped when he deepend the kiss. The sly Prince.She thought melting into the kiss. Even though she hated to admit it, he was a good kisser, and she enjoyed every bit of it.

Cassien pulled away for the kiss and moved his free hand to her face, caressing it softly. She felt his hand move to her back with him rubbing it in circles. He then trailed kisses from her neck to her collarbone. He placed a wet kiss on her nape and gave it a light suck.

She sighed, enjoying the foreign feeling."Your Grace.." She whispered when she felt a bite.Cassien looked up and she was met with glowing eyes. He looked at her flushed expression and looked away in embarrassment. "I'm sorry Hyacinth, I lost my sense of reasoning. "He said embracing her.

How he wished he could relish the feeling again.

She pulled back and stared at the amulet. "Please refrain form doing any rigorous activity. I'm not entirely sure what caused the cracks earlier Cassien," She said admiring the glowing item in her hand.

"And I'm not certain I'll be able to give it again if it breaks."She ended. "And why's that?" Cassien asked watching a pained expression on her face but it was quickly replaced by a smile."It's not important Your Grace. Just take care of yourself and this."She stared at the ground.

"Do you know how finding these items is stressful." She complained, shifting away from him. Her head was placed on her knees."Then let's make a deal." He said fueling her curiosity. She gave him a strange look.

Cassien making a few with her? If she was certain the man b3fire her waist the one to make sewls over trivial issues.Maybe she was loosing her sanity sitting by him-his curse was affecting her sense of hearing.

"I'm serious about it. I'm not the one to go back on my words." He said with a serious expressions almost making her laugh. "I know that Cassien, so what deal do you want to make?" She asked.

H3 was silent as if contemplating whether to speak."Just promise me you'll agree first." He smiled. She wore she saw mischief flash in his golden orbs.

"Really Cassien? Which sane person would agree to a void deal. Count me out." She said with q click of her tongue. "Just agree it's not a big deal," He shrugged, choosing to remain passive.

"Alright I agree, now tell me what this is all about ." She sighed growing tired of his antics. "You just agreed to fix my amulet when it's damaged and also be my personal doctor." He grinned, making her room her eye.

"I honestly knew you were up to some mischief, Your Grace." She chuckled."Now that's settled, I'll be taking my leave, and I'm pretty serious about the deal, Hyacinth." He said, ruffling her hair.

"Thank you a lot for accommodating me and making my night interesting. Good night, Hyacinth. " He gave her a small smile and stepped out.

She ran her hand through her hair, mumbling incoherent words under her breath. "I know, I know Faust. Better wipe that look off your face. I'm not in love with him!" She scolded the creature.

Its eyes seemed to say really."Whatever, I'm off to bed." She said, wrapping herself with her blanket.
